When I came home for a visit in 2018 I had the pleasure of dining at Costes Downtown. At that time they offered a 7 course chefs menu which was absolutely fabulous! While pricey by Hungarian standards, it was completely affordable by US standards especially for a Michelin star experience. It is the best meal I have ever had and I recommend the restaurant every chance I get. This video makes me want to plan next years trip around this festival. I would love to experience this! Koszi szepen!
hi, bumped into you today outside St Stephen’s Cathedral. Lovely to meet you both. Thanks for all the tips, we are having a great trip to this lovely city.
Even if I'm mostly vegetarian, I'm coming to Budapest on Tuesday, I can't wait to try the food. Thank you for all your videos which helped me to prepare my 3 days travel. Unfortunately I couldn't reach to you to offer you a coffee (you don't have "buy-me-a-coffee"). You deserve it after all your interesting videos!
Thank you so much for the kind message! I have recently been to Vegan Garden in Király street which had Hungarian Mushroom Stew and Bean Gulash which are usually rare in other restaurants. They were really tasty I must say :) I hope you'll have a great time in the city when you come on Tuesday! While we don't have the "buy-me-a-coffee" account, we have the "Thanks" button enabled (TH-cams built in Buy-me-a-coffee thing) on our videos for anyone who wishes to support us :)
Incredible, I’m in Budapest from 6 months and i don’t know these amazing places 😍 for sure I have to try all and make some contents for my channel on it. Cool video as usual ✌️😎
Belépő díj és plusz külön tányér dìj és még pohár bérel dìj aztán jó hely kellet lenni kajálni. De hol volt a csemege Túróscusza szalonnával ? I guess I have to eat a meal first with wine before I view your videos ..... Excellent Job and beutuful Food Colors.
Hi, your videos are very interesting and I watch them all the time. Could you tell me a non-touristy residential area of Budapest where you can find shops and interesting things to see?
Hi there! Thanks, glad you find our content interesting :) Personally I really like the vibe of an area I like to call the Villa District which is not far from the Keleti Railway station, it is lesser known among visitors and its a unique area to explore if you like architecture. Bartók Béla boulevard is a nice up-and-coming area next to Gellért hill with lots of hip shops and bars, or Pozsonyi út is a road lined with many eateries and restaurants. We have videos about thiese areas actually :) Some other places worth mentioning is Aquincum which is the ruins of an old roman empire era town to the north of Budapest. I hope this helps to give a bit of inspiration to visit some of these less known areas :)
@@giamar8637 You can find the videos under our Unique Places in Budapest playlist, one is "The Bloominb Boulevard you must visit" and the other is "The Villa District Nobody knows about" :) You may find a few more interesting spots on that playlist perhaps ;)
Hey there! events on smaller scale occur frequently and some of those focus on food or drinks. If you search Budapest Events on google then welovebudapest usually lists many of the events coming up or Budapest Info site also has many events listed. Alternatively on facebook you can search for events which are happening in Budapest :) But I guess the next few weeks will be mainly about the Euro, so possibly some public viewing spaces will pop up here and there with food and drinks :)
Thank you Ákos and Kata for another wonderful video. I am planning to come to Hungary next year and hopefully I will get to eat all the wonderful dishes that my mother prepared when I was younger. I am hoping to visit some Mom and Pop restaurants while I’m there. Are there any that you can recommend? I am hoping to visit Budapest but will also visit the counties that my parents were from; Szabolcs Szatmár and Jász NagyKun Szolnok. Köszönöm szépen!
Hey there! thank you for the kind message! :) In all honesty Mom and Pop restaurants are very rare especially in Budapest. Running a restaurant is very expensive and usually the owners are busy with managing the business, so it's not common to have these sort of places in the city unfortunately. There are two places that come to my mind however: Frici Papa has that sort of a vibe, it's not super high quality but has that home-made vibe. It's not too pricey and hence it is popular among tourists and locals as well. There is also Rosenstein Restaurant which is family owned and is highly regarded (even hollywood actors who shoot films here frequently visit the restaurant :)) I hope you'll enjoy your adventures exploring Szabolcs-Szatmár and Jász-NagyKun Szolnok-Counties :)
We only just came back from our week in Budapest and are already making plans to go back again. When is that festival? Maybe we can go at that time and try all that delicious food and wine ❤😊
Thanks 😊 looking forward to more of your videos and more suggestions 😊. This time we went to visit flipper museum and indoor mini golf and Labiryntus and the big cemetery 🪦 ( cemeteries are my thing) All thanks to your suggestions and we had really good time 😊😊 so next visit will probably be more food and baths oriented 😅
I will be visiting Budapest mid June, advice plz. I will spend 3 days 2 nights there, coming in from Bratislava and leaving to Vienna. (cam we do a joint travel trip together? on my other channel
Hey there! I hope you'll have a great time here in Budapest! :) Unfortunately I will be pretty busy during June, but will try to catch some soccer matches during Euro at some of the outdoor viewing places, if you happen to bump into me there or anywhere else in the city, feel free to say hi :)
I'd like to visit Budapest again in the coming months. When is the best time to catch some local events and festival like the one that's featured here?
Hey there! Smaller festivals occur frequently from spring to early autumn. The next edition of Gourmet Festival which is featured here will be held from May 23-25 in 2025. But there are many different smaller events here and there that focus on food. If you search Budapest Events on google then welovebudapest usually lists many of the events coming up or Budapest Info site also has many events listed. Alternatively on facebook you can search for events which are happening in Budapest :)
Hellou dears, recently I discovered this channel. Thumbs up, i like it very much. I will arrive again in Budapest, on Thursday 13th June. Is there maybe a change to get a hoodie and a t-shirt locally and live? Or only through the online shop?
Hey there! Thank you so much for the kind message! I hope you'll enjoy your time here this week :) Unfrotunately we don't stock inventory, the T-Shirts and Hoodies are made to order only available via the online store site. Nevertheless if you happen to bump into us in the city, feel free to say hi! :)
Hey there! On the path of Tram 4-6 which crosses Oktogon there are many bars and pubs that usually show matches and sport on TV. Showing the F1 races is more rare compared to Euro, those will be easy to find. If you are willing to go a bit further away usually there are watch zones built at Deák Ferenc tér or Szabadság tér. I hear there is a nice watch zone as well at the Várkert Bazár on the Buda side. 😊 Or on Margaret Island there is Champs Pub, I remember they showed F1 events too back in the day.
Arriving in Budapest Sunday. Can’t wait to try the food.
Definitely you are going to have a lot of fun there. Enjoy your trip 👍
