    Thank you! Very useful info as always. Another reason I vend cans is the environmental impact of plastic. I also find that discarded cans quickly get picked up and turned in for the refund value, so there is less litter around that property owners might associate with vending services.

    A lot of grocery stores near me, the 12 packs are in between $4.99 to $6.49 for regular price. Even at the special deals with exception of major holidays, the 12 packs are 3 for $12. I can't even vend cans for $0.75 as I won't make that much profit. So, I usually sell cans for $1.

      Yes, I vend cans for $1 in most of my machines.

    Hi, Bill (and Happy Fathers Day).
    I have an opportunity to purchase either a Royal 660 or DN 501e.
    I'm only familiar that the Royal is 12 selection versus the 9 selection of DN.
    I also am familiar that Royal is a double chamber allowing the 12 selection be possible(?)
    Granted, I'm not very smart beyond that. The DN is more user friendly, I'm sure.
    All being said, which do you prefer to use when it comes to cost, ease of use, and maintenance. Yes, these are both used. (Royal is 2004, not sure on DN.) Price wise between the 2 is about $200 with high end to DN.
    Since the video is on bottles vs can, where it is being set up, there is not really much preference. Just cold drinks.
    Thank you.
    Have a great and safe day.

      Hi Matt. Both are solid machines, but I personally prefer the Royals because I don't need to play around with shims, cams and rods. Most Royals are 9 selection....even though they have 12 columes. You use space to sales to determine which selections get extra columns. If they are only going for 200, I would check them closely...especially the cooling decks. For 200 it's a great deal for either machine...so expect something to be wrong with them. If they cooled and looked decent, I'd probably grab both machines.

      @@HappyVending Thank you, Bill. Sorry for the confusion. What I meant is that there is about $200 price difference between the 2. (501 is $400, while the Royal is $150.)
      I've bought machines from this person before and he didn't do me wrong. Just bad fortune happened when the power company was doing electrical work outside and it damaged a lot of machinery at my work place including my drink and snack machine. Hence why I'm needing machines -- again.
      So, you suggest the Royal over 501.
      I will take your opinion and go with the Royal 660 for the $150 he offering to sell it to me. He's tested and says everything works. Again, I see no reason for this person to suddenly do me wrong now.
      I just didn't know much on Royals because the way it is setup and such.
      Thank you again for all of your help. In fact, as I was (re)watching more of your videos, I realized why I keep coming back to yours. You are humble, honest, and at times hilarious. It's very helpful that you have no problem in admitting things you don't initially know - like when you were working on the cooling unit on one of the Royals.
      Take care.

      @@MI325A Thanks for your comments. Still, the price on those two machines are very good...especially if they cool good. I would probably buy both of them for those prices...but a good cooling unit is the key. New cooling decks can cost almost 1k now.

    What's it like having vending machines during a pandemic such as the one this year? Do you still tend to the machines when they need restocking and what measures do you take to insure the bottles you vend to customers are sanitary? Thanks in advance 🙂

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My machines are all in a school...and the school closed in March. So needless to say that vending has been put on hold for us right now. I emptied the snacks from the machines and gave them to the custodial crew that is still working in the building. The drinks are still in the machines..but they will probably have to be tossed. The pandemic hurt a lot of people in vending. As for the bottles/cans being sanitary...I always wash my hands before filling the machines. The products in the machines are no more dangerous than the products you would buy in the grocery store.

    Hi I've got a question know when the machine is empty it will say sold out right so how the machine sense or know it sold out if you get what I'm on about mate

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alan. It depends on the machine. The royals have a drop sensor under the product shoot that will detect if products are vending...if it doesn't detect a product, it will display "sold out". The Dixies have sold out paddles on each column that tell the machine when it is sold out. In the case of the paddles, there will still be some products in the column even after it displays "sold out".
