Congrats again on "almost" 10 years. Something i came across many many moons ago has stuck with me about fishkeeping. You don't keep fish you keep water, the fish just live in it. It's served me pretty well over the years breeding and enjoying fish.

Cory is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with his information and videos. But I have to chuckle every time he says " it's got what plants need"
I am reminded of the movie Idiocracy, where they are just giving Gatorade to all of their crops and it's the only drink that is sold anywhere. Because " it's got what x needs"

Two weeks ago I ordered some equipment and things from the CO-OP and I will say I am very pleased with everything. I am very happy that you ship in boxes that fit the material. I am so tired of getting, as an example, a golf ball in a box the size of two shoe boxes. I know that sounds trivial but it really aggravates me. Thanks again Cory.

32:33 I see so many paid online courses. Could Aquarium Co-Cop put together a course for 1) new shops with modules about product and marketing and business? This would allow you to make the content once, and allow many people to access the content - yes it’s paid, but if they want the course, and they’re investing into a company they can invest into a course. This method is repeatable and many people could make use of your time. It doesn’t have to be “you” either, it could be curated content from all the Co-Op team. Of course just a random idea - just trying to think of ways Corys time can be better mass replicated. LOVE THE STREAMS!!

I completely agree with the idea of watching nature vs being analytical. I’m an analytical person and I run a garden center. I understand the urge to measure everything to tell you how to care for plants / fish. If you observe nature, those skills will easily translate to other species of what you’re caring for. My employees can quickly walk through a nursery of thousands of plants and from 50’ away point out all the plants that will need water in the next 24 hrs based on the way the plants look and their experience. So many customers want water meters to tell them when to water, and then drown or overwater plants following a meter despite the plants “screaming” at them.
I love your approach to fish keeping.

Funnily enough, I had this exact scenario two weeks ago in my tank. It's a decently seasoned aquarium with no major changes for over 6 months, dosing Easy Green once a week. No algae. I never really have to do a water change, just top offs. But the past 3 months were hectic for me and I didn't do a single water change. I noticed the plants were starting to stagnate and lose leaves. I did a 20% water change just to re-introduce new minerals and within a few days, those same plants had new growth!
I will try to do a water change once a month now or so, as long as it's a regular thing!

The Hobby BBS hatcher has a use case you may not have considered. For small breeding setups you can limit the number of eggs you add to the hatcher such that you can add eggs every day without having to clean the dish. And since the eggs hatch at different rates, you can harvest multiple times a day. So in the end, you can feed babies throughout the day for about a week without having to clean the dish i.e. far less work than any other hatcher I've come across.

Love the live videos I got part of it live, but I wasn’t able to finish. I came back to finish it now…… where are you? Are talking about the spreadsheets and the automated systems…. One of the things that I learned from reef therapy was keep things as simple as possible so when you go out of town and you have someone checking your tank for you, you don’t have to give them a thesis project and this really hit home for me because I love gadgets, but I also don’t want to turn my hobby into my job so the more you add to the tank it does turn into more work for you to do and if you do have something go wrong while you’re on vacation enough said…..

So we already live in the Era of bot written articles? 😂
At this point the only things I look at are three things:
    1. Size
    2. Temperament
    3. Water temperature (and take the result as the center of a loose range)
Every article recycles the "0ppm nitrate" line, and it's laughably false. A large portion (say, ~50%) give wild tank size estimates based on water volume alone instead of footprint, etc.
While being careful to avoid saying that I am a know-it-all and have Infinite Wisdom as far as fish keeping is concerned, I am very glad I'm at the knowledge point that I am. If I was just starting out all of these false points made by the vast majority of fish keeping articles would virtually ruin the hobby for me, and they nearly did. The feeling of not being able to keep the fish I want because I would have to drop $300 on just the aquarium for it is crazy. With very few exceptions, anything you can fit in a 55 gallon you can fit into a 40 breeder easily, and 40B's go on sale more often locally (not a popular size outside of us weirdos).

I'm not sure what your analytics are, but I will say that I don't like the categories of the website either. I end up going through every single one just to make sure I don't miss something. I would much prefer an "all" category with editable filters for inclusion and exclusion. There have been times when I search things, and I don't find what I'm looking for because the search engine doesn't recognize what I'm looking for. It would know the specific thing that I'm trying to look for, but I only know general phrases to put in.
