    Holy smokes. Finally someone credible spoke to the fact that the aquascape "perfect show tank setup from day one" tanks cost a king's ransom in plants, driftwood etc. Thousands of dollars for just one tank, typically with no lid (good luck keeping up with the calcium evaporation lines and the dirt that will naturally land on the surface just as it would on any other surface of the room). I love the tanks. They are an inspiration in design and end goal. But on a reasonable budget they can take normal working folks 6-24 months to get there, even if. Cory I really appreciate the "reality brakes " you apply to the hobby's car every now and then. It is a joy listening to you sharing good sense. Be well. All the best from Canada. (11 tanks, 670g... a pleasure to listen to you talk out of my phone as I play on them).

    For the curious...I got $475 plus some fish for my load of fish yesterday during this livestream... However, $50 of it was from last week when I left a bucket of plants there on accident... They wound up selling it and paid me accordingly...! I think by next week, my paleaetis corydoras will be ready to go there too... Seascape Aquarium in Sarasota Florida is a 45 year old store with really great, down-to-earth people who are employed there...! The owners are also there everyday, it's truly a mom & pop/family shop...! It'd be absolutely perfect if they carried Aquarium Co-op products...! Thanks Cory and gang for all the free education y'all provide for us...! Keep it up and go enjoy some nature today....!

      Awesome! Do you have any estimate of the cost you put into that?

    • @kurtisstutzman7056
      @kurtisstutzman7056 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @kathrynthomas6390 who really knows, but I had loads of enjoyment sitting back, doing next to nothing and letting nature do the rest... I really do not like catching all those little boogers, though... mainly due to all the overgrown plants... I do know my fish food 'bill' is around $400 per month(that's only the frozen), but I haven't spent any of 'my' money in years at either of my two local stores... I have recently started actually paying, from my pocket, for Xtreme Krill flakes and some other good stuff from Xtreme, but if Aquarium Co-op was closer, I'm sure that'd be covered with/by my fish as well... thanks, hopefully that answered your question...

    I like it when a lot of fish or hobby information is given interspersed with personal antecedents. It keeps me more engaged and makes a stream much more interesting.

    I have been fishkeeping for over 40 years (I started very young) and I still am still learning things everyday. I never had to use fish meds so I know very little about the meds. I have learned so much from you specifically. Thanks for the knowledge!

    I’m in technology risk and listening to you talk about the process document for washing the brine shrimp hatchery made me feel at home. 🏠
    It’s great to have people on your team who can look at something and say, “what do you do to prevent ____? What do you to if _____ happens? Who is responsible for doing ____? How do we know _____ is being done?”

    Really appreciate your videos, and I have learned a lot. I have only been in the hobby for 3 months so far and have gotten so much help from your videos. This video, in particular, was exactly what I needed at the exact right time. I brought some new babies home recently, and they have been in the quarantine tank for a couple weeks. I was feeling uncertain about using the meds on them. I received the reassurance that I needed and clarification that i needed as well. Your team is also very helpful when I go online and ask questions. 😊

    I found out about Ick-X because of Cory, and out of personal experience, I would never go back to ANY kind of medicine other than Ick-X for ick. The stuff works wonders at high temp medical treatment/quarantine.

    Hey Cory! Do you think you could make a video of setting up a fish tank to when you put the fish in and how you add dechlorinator and fertilizer to the water to make it "perfect"? Also what is the best type of filter for a 20 gallon planted tank?

    Hey Cory I have a question for you! I have juvenile guppies around 8 weeks old and I'm trying to aclimate the males to my main tank. However they are scared of my opaline and hang out in the top corner of my community tank. How can I help my little pups get over the fear and stress that comes from sharing a tank with a 5 inch female gourami?

    Hi my Guppies and swords have long stringy poop. Some website say it's normal and others say it's parasites. I have never observed the poop moving on its own. I'd like to know what some experience fish keepers think.

      IF it's the color of it's food it's probably fine, if it's translucent, or has any globs in it, it's probably internal parasites.

    It doesn't seem like cory enjoys the livestreams anymore. I can absolutely understand why he'd be miserable doing it at this point with having to answer the same questions over and over. That said the atmosphere of the team has lost the energy it once had. Those were the good old day. They should come back. Give that man a much needed break and get some new blood on the stream
