      Hi She Who is Me! I am happy if you found the tips helpful! :) The index tip doesn' always work, but as you practice more, you will see when it is feasible and when it isn't. I wish you the best of luck on your exam!!

    Thanks Anna! These are helpful tips. I will be taking the CCS exam on Dec. 9. I would appreciate any other tips and study guide outline. Like Jenik, I also work full time and have limited time after work. Listening to you while working helps a lot. Keep it up :)

      Hi Armi! :) Thank you! I have been gathering my thoughts on the topic Jenik suggested. I hope that video will be just as helpful as this one! For tips DEFINITELY check out my video on the highest DRG topic. That one is all about those questions on the CCS where you need to decide which code, procedure or whatever will raise the DRG. Also, if you haven't seen yet, maybe the APC video? Not sure what you might need a little more guidance on, I have several vids on all kinds of revenue cycle and IP topics.

    Anna rocks. Comments get your video up in the algorithm, right? :)

      Rock*rock*rock!! I don't know what comments do anymore to be honest. YT keeps changing. Regardless, your feedback is always valuable to me and I highly appreciate it!!

    I’m a great coder who isn’t a strong test taker. Any tips on that?

      Hi Raven! How are you not strong? Anxiety? Does your brain shut down and you forget even your own name due to the stress? Or do you feel that your technical test taking skill are lacking? Like time management, wrong elimination technique etc.?

    Thanks Anna for the tips, I really liked the tip about coding from Index. It's awesome and time saving. Your videos are very helpful. One of my biggest problems are how to manage and what to learn on a daily basis. I have so little time after work to study and there are so much material. If I focus on PCS I forget detailed materials from CPT and so on. Do have any tips about how to manage and have a schedule what to learn everyday? Thanks

      Hi Jenik! Yes, the index is definitely a time saver! I hope more people will feel encouraged after the video to give it a go! Thank you for the question, I will see what I can come up with to help! You might have mentioned it on an other video already but when is your exam again? Sorry, I can't remember.

      @@TheMedicalCodingGuild Hi Ana, I was wondering if you have any technic to find the codes faster on CCS exam. As you know the each scenario's question has 10 codes to choose from which at glance gives me anxiety how to choose the correct answer and it takes a lot of time.

    • @TheMedicalCodingGuild
      @TheMedicalCodingGuild  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jenikmatavoos6983 My only and best answer is: to code the answer yourself. Trying to reverse-engineer the answer from 10 choices, but even just from 4 takes FOREVER. You can glance at the answers just to know the ballpark you should be in, but in a well-tabbed book looking codes up yourself won't take long. As I said in the video: these exams, either AHIMA or AAPC are built with the idea in mind that you will code on your own, from a book. They won't give anything super complicated you couldn't answer using guidelines and some Coding Clinic background info. I know you take the exam soon, would you be willing to give this a try while practicing and see how well you do?
