      I have both and I LOVE the Buds 3. They're the first earbuds without silicone tips that have ANC that actually works (compared to the Buds Live that were complete ass)

      @@Roosader that's good to hear. I have AirPods 3, and I'm thinking about switching to buds 3 as a S23U user. How about sound and comfort? Are Buds 3 better and louder? Are they as comfortable?

    • @Roosader
      @Roosader 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      @@meronique9 Comfort is definitely subjective. For example, I can't wear earbuds with silicone tips in them because it makes my ears hurt pretty badly, but a lot of people say that they're comfortable. Compared to my Airpods 2 and 3, I think it's a tie. But as far as sound quality goes, I think they're really good. I'm definitely not an audiophile but to me they seem to sound way more full than the airpods 3. The ANC though just made them an instant buy for me, but I was worried that it would suck with them being half in ears. But it doesn't!!

    Samsung buds had a class action lawsuit where they were causing ear infections. It was most likely due to the exposed nickel charging contact coming in contact with the inside of people's ears. Not everyone is allergic but those that are got nasty infections. Moving the charging contact to the bottom of the stem should remove this issue.

    • @martintaltsis7732
      @martintaltsis7732 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I'm completely talking out of my ass here but, couldn't they just move the nickel contacts further inside the bud so that it wouldn't come in contact with skin?

    It would make these audio device reviews so much better if we could hear the music the presenter is listening to, and even play the songs on our own gear so that we have a point of reference. Pre-ordered mine, been loving them. Traded in the buds 2 pro and got $100 off plsu the $50 pre-order credit. I got the buds 2 pro used for like, $50 too so it was a pretty sweet deal overall.
    Fit is good for me, sound is alright. Nothing to write home about honestly. I don't work out intensely, but I put in 5 miles today and never had to readjust them or anything due to comfort or them coming loose.
    The biggest upgrade for me is the touch controls. The "pinch" feature is much more consistent than the tap features on the previous buds.
    I can successfully triple pinch to skip back a song, where as on the previous buds it was maybe a 1 out of 10 success rate.
    Pause, play, skip, go back, pinch and swipe to change volume, it all works pretty great.
    The mic does sound better than the buds 2 pro, but I am not very impressed with it either. It's passable.
    Pretty much the only reason I upgraded was for the pinch controls.
    I would wear my bud 2s often, and would find myself constantly accidentally pausing my content while I was working on my car or crawling around under desks at work. My shoulder comes up and touches my ear a lot while I'm doing stuff, and that was enough to activate the tap to pause function. Then I would tap to unpause, only for it to not register and me have to try again, sometimes leading to the buds registering an unintentional double tap.
    The pinch function is much more usable and consistent. However, if you are walking or running and actively using the pinch feature sometimes your steps line up just perfectly to make your fingers do an unintentional double or triple pinch. It's hard to explain without using the buds yourself.
    Overall, I'm pretty happy with them but I'm not sure I would have paid full price either.

      How is the ambient audio and the feeling of talking with these in? And how do those compare to your buds2?

    • @99mage99
      @99mage99 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@j-sizzler5897 The ambient audio is, if I had to guess a numerical value, 1.8-2x better than the buds 2. Directly compared to the buds 2, in the ambient mode I can barely hear the fan I have turned on across the other side of the room. With the buds 3 pro, I can hear it very clearly.
      The ambient sound in general sounds more natural on the buds 3 compared to the buds 2. Less robotic and less processed.
      Talking feels pretty standard. I am wearing them as I type this out, and when speaking at a normal volume with ambient sound turned on I can hear myself talking clearly, though it is slightly muffled compared to the earbuds being removed. I would say about a 5% reduction in the volume of my voice, so nothing drastic at all. Talking feels good and there's no weird latency or anything like that.
      Another point I'd like to add is that I can get them to fit much faster than the buds 2. With the buds 2, I'd put them in then have to twist them back and forth until it sat just right in my ear, and I would often have to readjust them, regardless of the ear tip size I used.
      The buds 3, for me, intuitively fit in the ear much easier. It's a very small thing, probably only saves me 2-5 seconds compared to the buds 2 but it's something I noticed right away. I stick them in, give them a little wiggle, and they're good to go.

    I like the benefits of more electronic real estate with the stems. But my current Buds2 Pro are one of the best designs I've used for wearing with a motorcycle helmet. Stemmed ear buds just don't jive with a helmet.
    With ANC on, I've eliminated almost all buzzing in my ears post ride. (Yes I can still hear honking, and other road noise. Just cutting out the loudest part that's under my butt). I can also listen to music. With ANC on, the volume is barely higher than when using the buds normally. I can not even hear my Sena or Cardo on the highway, not to mention all I am doing is adding MORE sound on top of the engine instead of blocking it out. And I gotta say, even though I did kinda groan when I first saw them, these buds 3 pro are just flat out better in every single category than the buds 2 pro. They're more comfortable, sound better, and the stem provides better controls than the old buds. Also every video that has compared the mic quality has them totally smashing the buds 2 so the stems helped there as well.

      @derkaiser9881 If you're still at all in Samsung's ecosystem (phone or tablet) the buds 3 pro I could personally highly recommend after a week or so of ownership. They provide that airpods level experience but obviously for Samsung. I am in that ecosystem and the way it does the seamless switching and provides full control and feature set in the app is great. I know some people have had some issues and sales have been paused. But I really hope that doesn't stop people from trying them.

    I have been a Samsung Beans (Galaxy Buds Live) user for four years now. I bought them because I really enjoyed the design, but ergonomically it's not a great shape. Whenever you drop the case the buds spring in two directions across the room, since the case is square you can't really tell what way to open it in the dark and because of the shape it's not obvious what way they are supposed to go in the case. Again, especially in the dark.
    I really think Apple has done extensive user testing when designing the pods and that they concluded that the stem design in combination with the case just made sense. I don't love the shape of these as much design-wise, but I think these will be more usable.

      With the design, there can be many better. For secure fit, those that wrap around your ears are the best (eg: Jlab sport). For sound quality, a lot of designs work well (it depends not on design but on driver quality and then codec support). As for mics, I never had any problem whatsoever with non-stem style tws's. As for comfort, stem style can be comfortable for sure, but so are non stem ones I have used in the past whether it be Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro or Jlab Sport or my present tws which is Yamaha TWE7B.

    Paired these with Pixel 5 and iPhone 11. The Samsung Gear (Wear) app, which allows for fiddling with settings of the buds, is only available for Android. You may pair these with iOS and retains the important functions even without the app - long press for switching modes, swipes for volume control, multiple presses for skipping back and front.
    I’ve had questionable longevity with Airpod Pros (unreliable less than 2 years) so hopefully these would be better for iOS. I don’t need ALL the bells and whistles of Samsung integration.

    I dont think the engeering advantage with the long stems has anything to do with calling mic quality, infact people have often been suprrised with how good by buds 2 pros mic quality is on phone calls versus air pods pro
    where i think it is going to make a huge difference is for the ambient sound mode - for a lot of the time using my buds 2 pros i had long hair, and whenever the ends of my hair would rub up against the mics to pick up ambient audio i would get a horrible scratching noise that never seeemed to be picked up when i was just on a voice call with someone, it was legitimately uncomfortable at times and is genuinly one reason i keep my hair shorter now
    that being said i still wish they would stick with the fully stemless design, the lowkey vibe of the samsung buds pro has and continues to be one of my favorite aspects of them
    i also wish they didnt change the case design, yeah the buds 2 pro case having a soft texture compared to the buds 1 pro was a stupid change, but otherwise the more open design is amazing for cleaning, a quick wipe with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl will make it clean in seconds, no idea how you are supposed to clean the holes that the long stems go into
