      Yeah and this will still cause carpal tunnel since your palm is still facing down like with regular mice.
      An ergonomic mouse needs to at least be vertical to fit with the natural hand position. This doesn't even do that.

    Few thing's you should add!
    1. Moust feet, less friction would be amazing for how much surface area that thing has.
    2. dip it in some sort of rubber/silicone material to add comfort all around
    3. add some sort of cushion near the wrist, similar to those anime boob mousepads
    I think you're onto something big here, I would love to test it out!

      But keep in mind that the coating limits the lifetime of the mouse. At some point that stuff will turn back into oil. First it gets extremely sticky, then it feels like peeling off tape that has been in the sun for a couple months. You'll wash your hands constantly, because using the mouse makes you feel as if you just ate a whole bag of chips.

    *Behold the best idea for the World's Comfiest Mouse:*
    Add cushions for the lower palm/wrist support and trim the edges of the mouse to make it look smaller. Keep the indents as they are but add some bevels to remove sharp corners of the crater.
    Optionally for extra ergonomics create the mouse for sideways use, aka a slight tilt for natural rotation of the wrist. For this one a U shaped cushion for wrist support would be gold.

    • @HulluJanne
      @HulluJanne หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Add a button or more to every finger to maximize power usability. I got 10 extra and would need at least 3 more and a wheel for the thumb. My cravings for more buttons was started with Fatal1ty gaming mouse, added by Silverstone Raven (that I had to mod to move some buttons and replace the massive thumb wheel with a lot smaller one), then a Logitech G300 took much away, though introduced the idea of having two extra buttons on each side on the very front. Roccat Tyon has now been the no1 contender for years, even though it's shape is too long for my hands, the indentation for the thumb is too shallow and occasionally I have a hard time gripping it good enough to get it to lift.
      I wish I could get a mouse that has the features of the Tyon, plus:
      -A premium scroll wheel with tilt and option for indexing/free rolling with adjustable brake/tension
      -Two buttons right behind the scroll wheel
      -Scroll wheel for the thumb (with indexing/free rolling)
      -2 or more thumb buttons
      -Better sensor
      -More vertical design
      Though it would probably cost 300-600+ dollars, like the Elecom M-DUX70BK

    • @TimmyGamingYT
      @TimmyGamingYT 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      For gaming the cushion would be an awfull idea because every gamer knows your hand needs to touch the desk so you feel how far it goes, now yes its about comfort but if a mouse is annoying to use what is comfort.

    Ahh, the Millenium Chicken Mouse.
    I feel like it's certainly a good way to start with designing a personal ergonomic mouse, but here's a couple things that come to my mind.
    1.) Large contact area. The way the Millenium Chicken shape contours the hand may be rather unwieldy in moving it around. Especially when you pick it up and try to tilt it with a familiar motion. The large contact area also introduces the issue of needing countless mousefeet to lift it up, or risking the bottom deforming enough to create friction with the table.
    2.) Weight. The way this mouse is designed, the "wings" and the dome are both solid and while all in all the plastic might not be particularly heavy, I imagine the actual usable surface of the mouse is actually a lot smaller than what this design actually spends volumes of material for.
    3.) Contact area. I imagine working with a mouse like that would eventually lead to sweaty hands with all the contact area the hand has against the plastic. I wonder if the area could thus be reduced by only leaving supports reaching all the way to the hand in places where they matter.

    Mice are definitely more comfortable when they're larger. This is doubly true if you have big hands.
    You may find that you get more *precision* out of smaller mice, though. That uncomfortable, slightly scrunched up grip allows you use your fingertips more and your elbow less. Which is good for precision, but worse for the tendons in your wrist.

      @stephenkeen6044 หลายเดือนก่อน +245

      Yup. His "natural resting position" is more like "natural resting position if you let your hand rotate to match the hard table surface". Actual natural resting position isn't vertical either, more like 50 or 60 degrees up from flat. I think a 45 degree design would allow best ratio of comfort and control, personally. Higher angles require back pressure from the thumb to prevent it moving when pressing buttons, which becomes unergonomic, especially if you want to also eventually add thumb buttons for more functionality.

When you think about it, when your hands are at your side, your palms are oriented toward your body. I'm guessing that rather than being flat against the surface of a table you'd be more comfortable angling them at about 45°.

    I have one thought that nobody in the comments seems to be touching on and that's lifting the mouse to recenter your cursor position. With a normal mouse this is just an involuntary action because it's so easy to lift, but with this design I see no easy way of comfortably repositioning no matter the sensitivity you use. As many have said, a trackball or vertical position would add to comfort/ergo, BUT it would also eliminate this issue. If you don't like the trackball idea then make sure the design allows you to easily lift and reposition when needed. The ONLY other way I know of to deal with this issue of not lifting is to push your cursor on the edges of the screen when you wanna recenter which gets tedious very quickly.

    • @Eyes0fTheSC
      @Eyes0fTheSC หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Or a three wheel solution to prevent the inversion.

    I've spent literally decades (got my first PC in the mid '90s) searching for the most comfortable mouse. It's been a long struggle because of my fairly long fingers which have almost always stuck out over the front of the mouse in quite an uncomfortable way. However, about five or so years ago, I finally found the one that works excellent for me: Logitech MX Vertical. I absolutely love it! The only downside is that it tends to break a few months after the 2-year warranty has run out (which has happened twice now) and I haven't been able to fix it myself despite looking for solutions online, so I just have to include a new one in my budget every other year.

    You stumbled upon a design style that fps players might want to experiment with. A lot of long-term fps players will teach themselves "shoulder aiming", where the wrist and elbow don't move and all the movement is driven by the shoulder. You created a shoulder aim trainer: something that locks the wrist in place so aiming has to come from the shoulder. There is a huge niche you've advanced by years.

    Photogrametry is the go to tool that is used for scanning objects that you want to digitize. This is how all the 3d models in Megascans are made. Simultaneously you can also use the photos themselves to extract the texture you need for an asset. My guess is that LIDAR just isn't precise enough for small details and the one in the iPhone might also be rather bad. They haven't mentioned it since they first launched it in their Pro lineup and I think it's still around because they can use the depth information for photography. I have tried using several applications but photogrammetry is the only option

    If you wanna a badass mouse, make one that prevents the two bones that cross in your forearm from actually crossing when using a mouse. These are the radius and ulna. These bones can compress the median nerve and ulnar nerve, which lead to conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome (median nerve) or cubital tunnel syndrome (ulnar nerve). You fix that and you are rich!!! Just sayn...😊 ( ur version keeps the bones crossed)
