When you said 18nm I did wonder a bit. So before I took the original ones off I put the torque on the bolts and it clicked on 38/41 NM. I had a good look and the bushes weren't deforming. The good thing is you you put your hands up and I for one respect people who admit to mistake. 🙂
Thanks Teacher T. I haven’t done mine yet as away on hols. We all take information that comes from a trusty source to be accurate but I guess we need to double check sometimes. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Keep your fantastic videos coming! 😊
Thanks for this video, now we are sure. I had the value of the high screw, but not the low screw. I opened a ticket at Royal Enfield Support too, but they haven't answered me yet
To me they said the same value on each bolt. Hopefully you get the same answer. I had to wait for a reply from RE Thailand. Let me know if you get a different answer. 🙏
Blooming heck, that’s quite a bit different!!!!!! Will redo mine before next ride 😱 Plus, like you say it makes the fitting of accessories a different story now!
Many thanks for this clarification. I was just wondering if 18nm was enough! Thanks for the videos you publish because they help me make the changes with the right attention. 😉👍 Marco from Roma - Italy
Would be nice if we could have the SERVICE MANUAL for this motorbike. I had the one for the meteor 350 and it was very useful. All torques were there along with description of all the bike’s components… I just can’t find it for the 650 super meteor.
Thanks for making this video, I did notice the incorrect NM setting on the last video but didn't want to point it out and be a know all haha. BTW guys the service manual is available because I have it.
IDK about 45Nm. The general torque spec for a 10mm bolt is 30Nm (22ft.lb). These bolts are not “holding” anything together, merely acting as an axle. And why is the top shock bracket such a lighter gauge steel than the bottom one? I’m not going over 30Nm, especially while also using blue Loctite. But I will keep an eye on them. Thanks for keeping us informed on this Teacher T.
Yes I have seen and sat on the Speedmaster. The Triumph brand is top quality and the Speed Master seems to be the RollsRoyce of cruisers. Sadly out of my budget, but I would love to own one one day 🙏
You should not be apologising. The company doesn't specify the torque in its owner's manuals. I got a royal Enfield too. The company feels like a clown
I kind of bet the impression they don’t want you to do your own servicing. I can’t even get an air filter here in Thailand. I think the showrooms make little money on sales. But make more money on servicing. 🙏

Thank you. Better to be too loose than too tight I think 😂🙏

Thank you. Friday’s video is a little bit special 🙏
Happy this issue has been successfully resolved!
Surprised to see the Shotgun seat mount. So yes 100% relieved now my after market saddle stay is safe to use 🙏

I’ll look forward to it ! 😊
The new video? Taking ages for me to edit, but yes should be a good one 😂🙏
I can’t wait. Is there a torque setting when fitting the rear top box brackets? TIA!
Thank you for the info Teacher T. Keep on the good work. I really like your video’s. Well done!
Thank you 👌🙏

Yes sorry about that. And yes it does. The weight of a pillion is a lot less than that of a saddle bag and mount 😂🙏
@@Teacher-T-ThailandI’ve dropped a link to this on the FB owners page, hope you don’t mind
@@EWAScotland That’s great thanks. I just don’t do it often, as I don’t want to be accused of spamming pages. Thanks for that 👌🙏

Sadly not available yet to my knowledge. But if we keep spamming RE with technical questions, maybe they will release one soon 😂🙏
@@Teacher-T-Thailand it would show they care about us.
@@Teacher-T-Thailand by the way, thank you for this video. I will check and correct if necessary. Cheers

Welcome 🙏
thanks for the update.
I apologise I had to update. All the best 🙏
@@Teacher-T-Thailand if it helps you the rear spindle nut gets torqued to 53-foot pounds. I over torqued and my fuel mileage went down.
Great info.
As a brit, whats your view on the Triumph brand, and have you seen the Speedmaster?

@@Teacher-T-Thailand Speedmaster or Harley?
@@Griffindor21 Triumph SpeedMaster I haven't had the pleasure of riding. But the Harley Street Glide I have and found it very comfortable 🙏
Hi Thanks for the info, however can you can confirm the setting of 40.5 to 49 nm is for both upper and lower bolt of the shock please.
Yes. That is what I e been told in an email from RE Thailand 🙏
Which suspension are these, can you please provide the link?
All info and links are in this video 🙏 Meteor 650 suspension upgrade. Hagon Shocks - Are they any good?

I also had a Torque setting of 18 N.m??.
Yes sorry. Seems that 18Nm is wrong, and 45 Nm is correct 🙏
I am trying to absorb the shock of this change.
😂🙏
You will probably do a better job than the OEM shock.

I found 45Nm is way too high.
Interesting. I originally had mine at 18. Now at 45, I still have movement, but not as much as 18 🙏
If I understand correctly, this tightening torques (average 45 on the SM, 50 on the Shotgun) applies to both original and Hagon shocks, right?
Yes. Correct. 🙏
