Late to the video, but I took a slightly different approach with mine. I modified my strap-cutter using a disc cut from a leather offcut, rather than sandpaper. It grips really well.
I wish I'd found this video before I attempted to cut my last strap. Thank you very much for the excellent tip!
I took your advice and used your idea. Now I can cut great straps! Thank you again!!
Just found this vid... thanks for the great tip!! Lot of the cheaper versions, definitely have movement in them... as well as " name brand", ones
Gonna add piece of rough out leather on mine, instead of sandpaper, but thank you again for tip!! Being new to leather crafts, may have been awhile before I figured this out.. lol
Brilliant idea. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.💜✨
My problem is setting the gap for the leather thickness properly. Any tip videos on that?
All you have to do is tighten the head bolt with a pair of needle nose. I would use leather not sandpaper.
This is a great tip!
Thank you for the comment. Message me and you guys can sponsor a video or two. 😉 look forward to it!
How about adding how to load/replace the blades. I have had the worst time doing this. Thanks.

I tried this but took it off because the sandpaper was destroying the blade holder.

I was going to make a 10-15 min video on the same subject but instead just decided to tell people to stick a piece of sand paper on the little disk that tightens down in the width adjustment.
too bad i’m sure your video would have been great. Thanks for watching & for your comment.
A ten minute video to say : "Put sandpaper on the clamp head"

I don’t sell these items. You can order a strap cutter from Amazon, Tandy Leather, Weaver Leather, or any retailer that sells leather tools.
Price can range from $15 -$500.00 USD depending on what style of cutter you get, what brand, etc.
