Winter Truck Camping in an Unexpected Snowstorm.

- This week I get caught in a snowfall while boondocking in the Foothills State Forest. It was nothing like the snowstorm that is predicted later in the week, but it caught me off-guard. Its beautifully quiet and peaceful. It starting to feel like Christmas around here with the snow. I hope you enjoy the video.

Thanks Steve. It's funny when you look at the ground you can see all my foot tracks in the snow going back and fourth setting up my camera to get the shots. If you were looking down watching me I would look crazy walking circles around the camper, or when pulling in and out of the campsite multiple times before leaving. Excellent Kenny!!!! Man, it just doesn't get any prettier than that. I love dark, snowy (or rainy) days....so relaxful ( I know, I'm weird) LOL
I also enjoy hearing coyotes calling at night. I live on the edge of town and still can hear their songs. Have actually had a pair run in front of my front porch before, plus I have a pair of owls in the neighborhood calling to each other from time to time.

I'm with you on that one. This winter was long! I think we went more than 5 months with temps never reaching above 35 degrees. I'm glad summer is right around the corner.

I’m not surprised that you didn’t put on gloves or boots but I am a little surprised it wasn’t at least at your truck. That was drilled into my head from birth. That and always have a full tank of gas!

Thanks Tom! Winter camping is really enjoyable. The best part is the forests and parks are usually empty in the winter.
Now I want to load up the AF for a little winter camping!! Thanks for sharing!!... I put a slide topper on our 811 because clearing snow off the slide is no fun, especially when it turns to ice. A side bonus was that I no longer get a condensation build up just above the slide on the interior.
I should look at installing a slide topper. I have to go on the roof often to clean the slide, especially when camping under pines.
Seen this pop up again and super glad to see it’s popping off! I’ll give you another shout out soon and we’ll catch you up in subs. Great title on this video by the way, anytime you can make a title appeal to a broader audience the better.
Thanks! I agree the title and thumbnail have really pushed the impressions. Sure has triggered people though. I've never had to delete comments and hide users before this video. Holy buckets people can be hartless.

The world needs Jesus and some people are so un happy in life they want to vent it on others. I’ve learned to not take it personal and just respond in love the best I can. On rare occasions a comment will be so cruel and heartless that there’s no point in responding so I’ll block them from ever commenting again

Awesome video and drone footage. Reminds me of a place I used to ice fish with my ex up by Brainerd. It is so peaceful and relaxing to just be in a setting like this, and to experience all the sounds of the lake making ice, animals going through the woods, and snow falling around during the winter season here in MN. It is amazing!!

Dude I want to see Bigfoot so bad! My dad loved that stuff. He wasn't able to get around so well the last few years. I would go over to the house and watch Ancient Aliens and Hunting Bigfoot with him. One day we had a serious talk. He promised that he would come back and share what he learned from the other side. I'm still waiting for the conversation to happen. He's came back to visit, I can feel him sometimes.....but he hasent filled me in on anything yet. I know one day I'll be on a hike and he's gonna flush out a Bigfoot for me.

i did the same thing for the last winterstorm i drove to the forest and stayed there during 4 days i've a 2011 arctic fox 811 -15c and water inside all has been awesome not frozen it's one the reason why i bought a truck camper freedom with all that we need :)
Sound like an awesome time! Truck campers are freedom. I say it a hotel room in the bed of my truck. I love how spacious they are but still able to fit down forestery roads without issues. Thanks for watching!

That place was beautiful. I'm parked overnight ar a Walmart right now. Tomorrow I'll be headed out to a National Forest in search of waterfalls. We got 44 inches of snow the last 2 weeks so I'm having a hard time finding remote campsites. The video of this weekend should be out Tuesday. Thanks for watching!

Hey Kenny great video. I’m thinking about taking my TC out this winter for the first time. For only one reason; to ice fish. I couldn’t stand camping next to those lakes and not cutting some holes!

Just recently come across your channel and enjoy it very much , I like your approach to camping you don’t need or want a whole entourage of people with you . I had many years of traveling and camping but that’s over now , yep it ends, so I will just ride along wit you for a while if that’s ok .

beautiful, I am at edge of eastern Africa, but this video attracts me , some its different from what I have seen on TH-cam. hope you safe especially in these days in US and Canada we hearing horrible accidents because of snowstorm.
Yes, it seems like most of North America is either cold or snowy. Thankfully we are prepared to deal with the extreme cold temperatures and couple feet of snow. It's sad to hear about areas where people are not accustomed to the weather and have lost their lives. I really appreciate you watching the videos and leaving a comment. I know driving can b bad, but the snow is so beautiful. That lil blower comes in handy, see u use it alot in u videos. It's a good thing that u can follow where the drone was last & what happened. Had a great time watching.

Yep… I am picky too about my camping spots! Isn’t camping in MN during the winter gorgeous? I have a red light flashlight that lets me see what’s out there at night but doesn’t bother wildlife. I have seen raccoons and deer up close during the night using it. Some of my favorite RV camping times have been on chilly MN nights…. It’s fun to meet a fellow winter camping adventurer neighbor! 😁
The red light is a great idea. I'm gonna look into that. I do love how empty the forest and parks get in the winter.
