Winter camping in a Truck Camper

- This week's video I am off to a campground in northern Minnesota. Greer Lake Campground is in the Crow Wing State Forest near Cross Lake. It was a beautiful and quiet campground. The day times highs were a little to cold to go out on a bike ride, so I decided to do a LED install Project. The campground was perfect for a walk the lake looked so peaceful. I appreciate you coming along with me.

Absolutely, Lance makes a great camper! I watch other fulltime TH-camrs and I get a little jealous of all the traveling they do. At least my channel shows that even working a regular 45 hour a week job there's still time to travel in the truck camper.

Something I miss down here in Florida is how all of the grocery stores and everything have tons of stuff that is local, beers foods, cheeses you name it!
Of course I have family up there too that I enjoy seeing lol. 😅
Just added some LED's like those to the bottom of the seats of the pontoon except they are operated by battery packs. They are sure a nice add. Where is the peanut butter on the egg sandwich?! Looks delicious.
Peanut butter and egg is one of my all time favorites. I could live off that sandwich!

Years ago started out in Law Enforcement as a 911 dispatcher, then worked years as a corrections officer before going on the road as a patrol officer. My mind has been trained to know the calm comes before the storm. When it's too quiet I will start to get anxiety waiting for the sh*t storm to hit.
@@KennyOfAllTrades FWIW, I understand. After 47 years with a wonderful wife, my house is far too quiet and I fill the void with videos and movies, so I can focus on something other than being alone. That said, I surely don’t have the memories you must have. Stay well, my video friend.
awesome scenery! i am same way with background noise. i even sleep with Ipad on TH-cam, etc. Sometimes i fall asleep unintentionally just watching a video. i think i am one “sitting up and nodding off” unplanned nap away from a nursing home. lol

As for car show's I miss Fantom Works & really enjoy watching Ian Roussell of Full Custom Garage artistry. I've been following Ian since he put out Hot Rods Rat Rods dvd & used the steel toes from his boots as air vents on his Rat Rod.
Ian Roussell is a metal artist. The guy comes across super chill. I always liked watching him, a real humble guy with loads to talent.

Hey Kenny, wanted to reach out to you and let you know my wife and I are from Maine and we are enjoying the videos, we just bought a truck camper last year for the sole purpose of boondocking in the great Maine woods. We have been sitting here in the living room watching on TV. so we decided to go back to your first episode after randomly watching a couple. We enjoyed episode 3 and 4 when Mandy was with you, hoping we were going to meet her.

Mandi and I have been wanting to see Maine for years. It looks like a beautiful state. I would like to take the northern route through Canada, then enter the US at Niagara Falls. So far Mandi has chosen to stay out of the videos. She is able to travel with me 20% of the time, I have snuck her reflection into a few videos. Maybe one day she will change her mind. She tells me the TH-cam channel is my thing. I hope you guys enjoy the truck camper as much as Mandi and I do. Safe travels!
That's Awesome! We have found some really great spot off some old and new logging roads north of us. We are hoping to get to a couple this summer. Right now we are in mud season, yes that is a season here in Maine...lol so trying to get out there just isn't possible. So I am working on getting the solar setup so we will be ready.

@@mandib757 It would be a great trip along the boarder , my wife did a trip like that when she was 10. They traveled everywhere one summer in a little tag along.
Another great weekend adventure. At least you are seeing bare ground, we aren’t quite there yet up here in Alaska. This time of year up here is great for venturing out to see the northern lights, makes for great winter truck camping adventure for sure. Great job eh👍🏼

That was a great video. I like the indoor stuff and all. It balances it out. The cooking was good. The pasta you made is the same ones I make. If you want to add something to it I put sliced black olives in mine. I love the the overall taste. I too have the LED lights in my house to change the ambiance it gives it a nice little background, mood change. I like how yours turned out. Going to be a little sad when the cold weather goes away and brings the people back. Introvert works for me. Safe travels my friend.
It's all good Tony. I can find some really quiet places. Last summer I got into some great boondocking spots! I'll try the suggestion on the pasta. It's a cheep meal and I like the bacon ranch flavor.
I understand the background noise thing too. And every camper I always put these multi led lights up somewhere too, like the warmth atmosphere they create and soft light. But i’m not understanding how your hooking them up for power, n ya the simple stuff goes over my head I keep looking for complexity. I could bomb-bard you with questions…..😬
And I think you know now Lol, i’m the most pathetic cook on planet earth so keep cooking eh! What is so funny is I love noodles and have never thought of using a splash screen as a strainer. That was a ‘da’! moment for me alright, lol. Your orange pan looks like a gotham pan? If so i got the noodle pot a couple years ago, tis my fav, super light comes with a glass lid for straining and a snap to clean out too. Never seen that salad stuff before am gonna see if I can find it. 🍻
The led lights are powered off a 120 Volt circuit. I used the inverter I placed in the bedroom closet that powers the TV. That way I don't have to be plugged into shore power or running my generator in order to have the lights on.

I am always much more comfortable with a bit of background noise. Usually the television with some stupid show on it that I wouldn’t watch in 1 million years but at least I get to hear voices. Not too much of a music person though.❤️🇨🇦
That's how I am as well. I don't listen to much music either. When I'm driving, I usually have a pod cast playing.

@Spykers B. Thanks, I was an instructor at my last job. I would give classes and lectures to business, school teachers, and government agencies on situational awareness while providing them with active shooter strategies. I would always be nervous the morning before the classes. Maybe in a month or so, after my 1 year anniversary with the videos, I'll do that

Nope. I rarely turn them on. I figured since I see them in 90% of the other RV channels, I would like them too. But.....I prefer the light from the two overhead reading lamps.
Hi Kenny....have you ever thought about getting a traveling dog to be by your side or if you have a pet have you ever thought of taking them with you when you travel? Strictly speaking for myself here but I'm more liable to watch nomads and RVers, campers, if they have a pet companion. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
Absolutely. I have a Rottweiler at home. She was in the first few videos. I have thought about taking her with, but she's getting to be an old lady. I'm not sure how she would handle traveling. I have thought about adopting a camper pup, but I work Monday through Friday and would not have a lot of time for a new partner. Maybe down the road.

Oh boy......... I spend most weekends on the North Shore. There are literally 100's of spots where I have never seen people. Email me at Kennyofalltradeschannel@gmail.com. I can share a few locations; I just don't want to put them online. I have a bunch of videos showing boondocking spots from Two Harbors to Grand Marais. I just don't include GPS locations in the video.

I like the Suddenly Salad mixes too... I'll also throw in a couple of boiled eggs and some cooked carrots, or other available parts, and whatever meat.
I'm thinking about using some of the LED light strips to light my new awning (not installed yet). Seems that would make a nice warm evening glow. Ed
The lights do make a nice atmosphere. I don't use them on camera because the frame rate I record at makes the lights look like they are flickering.
Another great video Kenny. What psi do you normally set your air bags?
40 to 50 pounds while driving. That way, my overload springs are engaged. At night, I will run them around 80 pounds. That way, my headlights are properly pointed down the road.

How big is that campgrounds? It's really nice & clean.
It's about 30 sites. Unfortunately, a tornado or straight line winds went through last fall and took out 100's of trees. I was out there a few months back, and they still don't have it cleaned up.
