It’s not that I’m calling that other guy a liar … it’s just that the lake that he was next to wasn’t even frozen over, there was no snow nor hoar frost on the ground, or on any of the trees … They must think that their viewers are absolutely stupid and believe anything that they say. But yeah, I’ve seen this guy tackle some epic blizzards … he’s never exaggerated about the weather to get clicks, it’s always been the real deal as far as storms go.
Oh! One last suggestion. I attach a bright neon color flag to my antenna so it can be seen when snow gets dumped on the van. Makes it easier to find my way back in a storm. Ive glued strips of reflective tape to the flag so it remains stiff AND makes super easy to find said flag/truck with a flashlight, even in darkest and worst storms

I'll never forget, my cousin and I took amtrak through the Sierras and Cascades not this past winter but the one before and the snow was so deep. The conductor said it was as deep as 18 feet in some places. I remember a railroad crossing where the snow was so deep no car could have gotten through and the drifts were insane. Those atmospheric rivers the past two winters in the Sierra and Cascades have dumped a bonkers amount of snow. Really enjoyed this video of yours.
One of the reasons people outfit vehicles like this is to “stealth camp” in parking lots and such. Places where a van might not be out of place parking overnight, but someone camping there might draw the ire of local law enforcement or property owners. A brightly coloured vehicle draws the eyes in that situation, which is exactly what you want to avoid.
WOW! That was insane, I was waiting for a video from someone who headed up to the Sierra Nevada storm. Thanks for giving us a Birds Eye view of it. It’s nice that you have a nice warm van for shelter where you can cook and sleep. It looks like you had a nice time. Thanks for sharing❤
You finally got smart your taking our advice putting chains on after you part the van. Make sure you have clearance around the van from snow. Have a safe camping trip in van sounds like heaven to camp in van.Be safe . Wow chocolate covered strawberries yummy with a little wine sounds good.
14:13 omg that is the biggest tree I have ever seen. 😮 I have never seen, touched, felt, snow, hence why I adore this video. Hate summer, adore winter.. Thank you so much. Kindest thoughts to you and your family and Fur babies from Australia.
That is a Giant Sequoia, the largest tree species in the world by mass/volume. Nearly as tall as Redwoods while having larger trunk sizes. Truly something to behold.
Make sure backing up that snow doesn't impact the tailpipe. Cuz it will freeze into ice after the engine is off and the engine won't start... That's a tip I learned from well .. experience😅😅
21:55 was such a good shot of just how fast those large flakes were falling! I love the cold and a solid snowstorm. You had this all very well thought out and seemed to be smartly over prepared. Thanks for taking me on this journey with you!
Wild and crazy, dude. Did a lot of heavy snow travel up there. But never allowed up there in this monumental snowfall. Kinda jealous really. Thx for the post. Be safe. You prepared well.
Great program, but I would be scared to be locked in that bathroom either because the lock didn't work right or the door froze shut,in that storm. It did happen to me one time, luckily for me I had my phone on me I was in an area with good phone service and it was a recreation place that a lot of people were around, and the weather was not too cold or hot. But forever made me extra cautious in my many travels everywhere.
Suggestion for dry floors. Get one of those mats thats thick rubber and made of open cells, like bee hive. Keep at front wheres door. Immidietly after it, lay down an old towel, folded. Have on hand 3 or 4 towels, and rotate as wet ones dry. Ive used this method for offroading in snow or mud or both and it helps grab all the snow that falls from my boots and jacket and pants/shell. A smaller towel is great to use as a "smacker" and i smack the back of my pants and jackets (and arse if feeling naughty!) To dust off all the snow clinging to me. I keep the towels in a small old milk crate which allows any water to leak out and out the van/truck. I dont have any meaningful suggestions because its obvious you're aware on some level what can be dangerous and you are having extreme fun. Good for you! Keep it up and try to remain safe:)
Wow your stroll through the Sequoias looks so amazing! I went to the Sequoia National Park during summer and I was in awe already but the snow brings a new element. Beautiful!
You are a braver man than me, Everest. But, I always look forward to watching your videos. I love the cold and snow, but I’ve got nothing on you! Stay safe bro!
So much snow!! The minute I started hearing weather reports of an epic blizzard in the Sierras, I said to myself, "I wonder if Everest is going to go camp in it?" AND SURE ENOUGH!! OPA! I loved the little bit where you jumped off the van roof into the snow. That gave me a good chuckle, and it was a good way to show just how MUCH snow there was! OMG! Also, your Donner Party air freshener made me laugh a LOT.
its not epic..nor record setting last year was worse guess you buy into this propaganda and trope this twit posts and other so call "van life" idiots running into bad weather creating problems for those of us that live here
Thank you for letting us see the snow. We’ve all heard about it down here in Texas. Could not imagine what you were in right now. Take care of yourself.
When I saw that they were forecasting record snowfall amount and huge winds, I knew you would be out in the middle of it! LOL! Thanks for sharing. We seldom get snow down here, even though we live on top of a mountain.
Man was watching the storm hitting the Sierras with an impressive amount of snow. I'm glad you made it there and gave us a glimpse of what it's truly like. Bravo and stay safe.
Just...WOW! What a beautiful surprise! I didn't expect that! That stand of Sequoias in the snow blew me away! Thank you and God bless you! You made my day!

I can honestly say I know how you feel lol Its almost fun being "stranded" no stress about traveling but we did miss xmas one year even the plows couldnt clear 5 ft from the road that year.
I was born in mass and then lived in Texas for 45 years. If you keep letting that snow inside that beautiful van it’s going to ruin it. I moved back north to New Hampshire five years ago and at 66 I’m the one that does the majority of shoveling deep snow. I hate to see you pushing up against the plastic on the doors because they will break. It’s best you shovel what you can each time you use the restroom. It was smart bringing chains with you. I drove from Texas to NH during the winter in my Honda pilot with my two small dogs and three year old. It was snowing and cold. I stayed at the red roof inn so my dogs and I got warm and took showers. I kept a small shovel and brushes for snow. At night stopped and got dinner and we went and ate and slept nice and warm. I love how you did the bed great ideas. I’ve been using a little of everyone’s ideas.
Agree. I couldn't understand why he stood outside to put his jacket on when it was snowing with the van door open! So the wet snow went all over his sweater and then he put his jacket over it. Wet clothes are never a good thing .
@@pobstrelI felt anxiety seeing him leave his shovel in the snow behind the van, and again just sitting on top of the snow next to the van. Losing those shovels would really really suck!
Good on you brother for eating well. I used to be a wilderness rafting on the franklin river in Tasmania. 14 days no civilisation & I used to freak people out when I baked real bread in a wok on a Traingia every day! An army marches on its stomach!
Ok so what I’m about to say, take it as motherly - like concern for your safety rather than just a troll being critical . I’m posting this in hopes that you take my advice!!Another video, another life - risking venture. Look, your videos are really entertaining but every time I shake my head at your choices. It’s risky enough just going out into a huge storm like this- you could be stranded , have vehicle failure, etc. There’s all that and then you take MORE risk by making poor decisions like going out on these treks with only a camera into horrible harsh conditions. Like at minimum pack a backpack with some water and basic survival items. One fall and an injury that leaves you unable to get back to the van will be deadly VERY QUICKLY. You often state you don’t have cell service. Please at least carry a GPS device with the ability to use satellite to call for help, like I see responsible hikers use. I’m just saying , you need to do more preparations to keep safe because Mother Nature is brutal! I always j think about my son, who I think is about your age, when I watch these videos and I about how worried your mom must get knowing you are out in these dangerous storms. So please 🙏🏻 just take more precautions and be more prepared!!!
I think you should remember that everything you see on camera isn't the full story. This person is next to a road, near access to emergency services. They may also have survival training and lots of experience in winter survival, you don't know their background before TH-cam. I don't think you should be so quick to judge.

I am sorry a few people took what you were trying to say and twisted it so they could jump on and lecture you. He doesn't need protection or anyone else speaking for you so they feel validated. ❤

Good for you having the time of your life in your beautiful camper van regardless of the weather and the snow . You only live once, good on ya. Hi from Ireland 😊
Love the sense of adventure! Something that we have to do here in great lakes/michigan winters is during heavy snowstorms, plan on going out every few hours to clear the snow where you need to clear it in order to keep it from building up to beyond clearing. Totally normal to hear shovels and snowblowers at 2am from people clearing their driveways and sidewalks. I was getting nervous for you seeing your drivers door getting blocked in and almost impossible to open. Please keep your exits cleaned as much as possible, even if you need to get out there for a few minutes at 2am :)
The Donner party (horse-drawn covered wagons) got entombed by snow in Dec.1846. The first night they got 6 ft. of snow. The 2nd night they got 4 ft. with multiple storms following. The survivors were rescued in February 1847. Its estimated that 15 to 20 feet of snow fell during that period. Just wrap your head around that!
Love it, thanks well prepared I did similar between 1995 and near 2003, with just Car (Touring) for Weekend Days when Austria or Swiss was hit by snowfall. Much easier food, gas cook for emergency, but food for a week, and all tools to get the car moving (snowchain and 100 kg gravel/sand as shovel) and myself warm and busy. Even just with a tent and double sleeping back at -25 over one new year event. That teaches me respect over the power of weather and how former generations had to deal with it.
I live in the south , but i used to live in Montana and I don't miss the winters there at all . Now you know why those old miners and trappers got cabin fever .
@@riverduck3 Wow people are weird , how you got that comment was about me is crazy, Just saying its colder than hell in Montana in the Winter , and cabin fever was a real thing because miners or trappers were stuck in their cabin all winter and it made them a little stir crazy ,

Red Transits are hard to find in any country.
@@ThatGuy182545 - True… but in a snowstorm? 😳
To be young and adventurous again. Nice to see this fellow enjoying his life. Best wishes!
I thought about my younger self, and felt that I would have been in heaven being there.
when you backed in, I'm curious as to why you shoveled out to open the doors. Why not pull forward 3 feet?
because the parking lot gets plowed
You eat better in your van than many do at home. Great adventure.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's the kinda snow ww had on the 80s on alberta canada 🇨🇦 I loved it.😊
I'm living in Texas. We don't get to see snow very often. Thank you for sharing. I really did enjoy seeing the beautiful snow.
He has Texas plates on this van.
I respect you . I know that regardless of the weather & measures you go through, you’re at peace . ❤❤
U should add a bright color strip or something to ur van since you like being in snow, to make it easier to see your white van in case of emergencies
Personally I can’t stand snow, but this young man loves the snow and everything in it.
You are very fortunate that you can tolerate heat. It kills me, and now with MS, it will kill me.
Gotta say many folks could actually learn from this dude, has everything he needs for survival.
🎶 Oooh, the weather outside is frightful, but in here, my dear, it's delightful! 🎶 😊 Let it snow! ❄
OMG awesome footage on the ski's🙂 Crazy storm In Tahoe and Truckee and Donner pass
Chicken Cordon Bleu!!!!! Very Nice!!! Et pas de 'minute rice' 😉
You finally got smart your taking our advice putting chains on after you part the van. Make sure you have clearance around the van from snow. Have a safe camping trip in van sounds like heaven to camp in van.Be safe . Wow chocolate covered strawberries yummy with a little wine sounds good.

@@Poeticfloetic park the van sorry have kids to watch when I type this
14:13 omg that is the biggest tree I have ever seen.
On a hot day down under this is the perfect time to watch it!
😂
reminds me of way back when, i showed my WoW friend in adelaide snow off my webcam for the first time hehehe
its 18c and im wearing jumpers
The inside of the van looks so quiet and calm but the outside is so loud with howling wind.
Wild and crazy, dude. Did a lot of heavy snow travel up there. But never allowed up there in this monumental snowfall. Kinda jealous really. Thx for the post. Be safe. You prepared well.
this van is the most beautiful build ive seen so far, honestly.
I can't tell you how lucky you are. I would love to have been in that snow storm!
We get 3cm of snow in the UK & the country grinds to a halt, so fair play to you my friend! 👍👍
Wow your stroll through the Sequoias looks so amazing! I went to the Sequoia National Park during summer and I was in awe already but the snow brings a new element. Beautiful!
I’ve never seen such trees in all my life. They’re absolutely gorgeous thanks for sharing.
You are a braver man than me, Everest. But, I always look forward to watching your videos. I love the cold and snow, but I’ve got nothing on you! Stay safe bro!
This level ten asmr the snow crunching 😂😂😂😂
Wonderful films. This young man is brave and adventurous. Thank you!
now THAT's what I'm talkin about!!
i appreciate your sharing these adventures!
And LOVE when you go History or Science nerd. I am, too!
Incredible! You do it best! Your channel is awesome. I always love the drone while the van is moving. So talented. Stay safe Everest.
When I saw that they were forecasting record snowfall amount and huge winds, I knew you would be out in the middle of it! LOL! Thanks for sharing. We seldom get snow down here, even though we live on top of a mountain.
It is what you do when you are young!!good job young man
Wow, beautiful! Glad you got out safely. Maybe have some sort of portable potty inside?
Man was watching the storm hitting the Sierras with an impressive amount of snow. I'm glad you made it there and gave us a glimpse of what it's truly like. Bravo and stay safe.
Was truly astounding

That is probably one of the most insane meals I could think to make in a van, hot fat in a clsoed space.
What a great adventure. Thank you for taking us along 🙏
They do this for views. Nothing will change their minds until something drastic does. Most people camp in normal weather, not blizzards.
Wow good book
I think you should remember that everything you see on camera isn't the full story. This person is next to a road, near access to emergency services. They may also have survival training and lots of experience in winter survival, you don't know their background before TH-cam. I don't think you should be so quick to judge.
@@toma6002, I HAVE JUST SEEN THIS VIDEO & I WAS THINKING OH GREAT, ANOTHER BOOK SMART DUMMY ,LOL BUT THEN I SEEN THAT he IS A VAN DWELLER AND SAID OK, he WILL BE OK FOR A FEW DAYS IF THAT WAS NECESSARY ! SOME PEOPLE CAN BE BOOK SMART ALL DAY LONG BUT NO COMMON SENSE AT ALL ! THAT & IT DOESN'T SNOW LIKE THAT EVERYWHERE EITHERS
Your comment was very nice, respectful & coming from a good place. I did not hear judgment at all! It was clearly a concerned mom and fan who cares. I am sorry a few people took what you were trying to say and twisted it so they could jump on and lecture you. He doesn't need protection or anyone else speaking for you so they feel validated. ❤
As a Canadian who lives in the mountains, I was drooling over the pow!
This is a heck of a van ! Absolutely amazing !
Wow!! This is absolutely amazing. I wish we experienced this even a little in Kenya 🇰🇪. I just love watching these.
What a video!! It was both beautiful and terrifying!! You have the perfect set up for the extreme weather! Loved it!! Be careful though!! (Said with mom voice) 😂
Thank you! Will do!
Please keep your exits cleaned as much as possible, even if you need to get out there for a few minutes at 2am :)
i like this guy, he dosnt talk about his two tanks on his truck over and over.
How did they make it so long
@@akbarpashtun They had each other 😆
@@1stcommonsense I checked it on google. Looks crazy. Will check a short video on it.
@@1stcommonsense Nice euphemism. morbid, but nice.
The final survivor who it turns out consumed the most people, actually started an Inn/Restaurant in San Fran.
Love it, thanks
well prepared
I did similar between 1995 and near 2003, with just Car (Touring) for Weekend Days when Austria or Swiss was hit by snowfall.
I guess you're being complimentary toward this man and his video. Nope, you weren't. You were all about you and hating the snow. Wow.
@@riverduck3 Wow people are weird , how you got that comment was about me is crazy, Just saying its colder than hell in Montana in the Winter , and cabin fever was a real thing because miners or trappers were stuck in their cabin all winter and it made them a little stir crazy ,
