  • Today I'm breaking down everything you need to know about Dacia, a faction I have really grown to love in the last few months as I've played the VH/VH campaign here on TH-cam.
From economy and starting position, to tactics, exploits, and finally a full breakdown of the army you can field as Dacia, I give you all the information you need to dominate the campaign map.
    Thanks so much for watching!
The giveaway I mentioned will be eligible for anyone subscribed to my channel and will start when I pass 500 subscribers, probably in the next month or so, so don't forget to hit that subscribe button to make sure you don't miss the announcement for the giveaway.

I also wanted to give credit to Lugotorix on TH-cam for inspiration on the format of this video. All the content of the video is my own, but the format is very similar to Lugotorix’s faction guides. He's recently returned to TH-cam with an awesome series. Check him out:

Duly note that, contrary to popular belief, falxmen do NOT have armor-piercing attack. While some units (eg. cataphracts) have a hidden armor-piercing attribute to one of their attacks, falxmen get no such benefit.

Thanks for the input! A huge part of me was wanting to say they did have armor piercing but I couldn’t find that information verified anywhere. Pinning this comment!

Thanks for the support! I definitely recommend picking up Rome: Total War on the Steam store. This game has lasted me a lifetime with no complaints.

Thanks! I feel like people don’t talk about plagues enough for how annoying they can be

Bit of a bummer it is unplayable, maybe it is not with remastered but I don't have it, it can be unlocked but I'm not tech savy, so I don't feel confident tinkering with game files.

It's a really easy file to mod for the original RTW. If you have it on steam, just right click rome total war and select "manage" and "browse local files." That will get you to the main RTW folder. Otherwise you have to navigate manually through your c: drive probably.
But so long as you can get to your RTW folder, you then go to the "data" folder - then select "world" folder - then select "maps" - then select "campaign" - then "imperial campaign." Within imperial campaign are a bunch of text files, but the one you want is "descr_strat" and it should be near the top. Open the file for editing and you'll immediately see a text list of "playable" factions, unlockable factions, and unplayable factions. All you need to do to make anything playable is cut and paste the faction name from one list to the other. If you're worried about making a mistake, just test it out with one faction and then launch the game. I'm no game modder, and this ended up being a pretty easy change to make to a game, so have faith in yourself! :)

There are a lot of really fun campaigns locked behind just a few minutes of work. I’ll try to get a video out in the next few weeks showing exactly how to do it. In my opinion, it’s totally worth the effort. I’m also not tech savvy whatsoever and had no issues with it :)
But I get not wanting to fiddle with the game, I know once you break it it can be very difficult to fix.

Hey, @madchessLeviathan, I just made a tutorial for unlocking all the factions that is super safe and clear, so if you want to try it out, I guarantee you won't break your game :) (It is for the steam version only)

Are there differences in remastered version?

That’s the one department I’m not an expert in as I’ve never bought and played the remaster. Someday soon I will have an answer for that question but I’m not sure.
