    Many dont believe 300 series sst butt welds have excellent strength by just fusing as long as there are no gaps. I built a set of 18ga 304 headers for a customer's car 20 years ago with fused tubes and they are still in service

    You could set up some different sized v bands that are welded to bearing/lazy Suzan. You could then rotate the part as you weld much easier.

      I have my own signature series of UV Tig welding sleeves coming out soon!
      When ever I’m seen in a short sleeve, I’m wearing helioplex spray. When the weather is too hot to handle I’m still covered and protected.

    People never understand how much something like this is worth I constantly have people inquiring about me doing something like this pie cut pipe and then when I tell them how much it cost they turn around and run away. I charge 60$ an hour for this kinda work that even may be low.

    I cannot for the life of me get mine to look like this on my Lincoln Square wave. If run 85amp at 1.6p it keeps undercutting. The only way for me to get the raised dime look is at roughly 49amp but no penetration. Ive tried every freaking setting and cannot mimick this. Thanks for the awesome video and I keep attempting to do this.

      Does the machine have pulse parameter adjustment? You need to be able to set the time percentage the arc is on high amperage (peak on time) and the (background) constant amperage or percentage of peak amperage, depending on brand of machine. If it’s a preset 50/50 type of machine, it would make sense that you would drop the peak amps due to a greater constant amperage input. If that’s the case, I’d say run a shorter point on your tungsten (≈45-55°). The bead will be narrower, but penetrate through deeper at the same amperage. Make sure the electrode is pushing at a decent angle; this allows more molten material mass to expand and shrink together(like the start of a bandsaw cut on round tube). The push angle that seems to help me most is about 45°. Hope this helps!

      @kyleeski1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KANEKIDWELDS the machine doesn't have a pulse parameter adjustment. It is a Lincoln square wave so maybe I just need to upgrade. With that said I played more with it today and at 70-75 amps, 1.4pulse, 30cfh, and 10cfh purge it was nearly perfect. Still not as pretty as yours but its getting there. So I wasn't purging before because I figured what is the point while practicing and I didnt care what the inside looked like. While not positive I came to the conclusion that when you dont purge it does effect the outside as well. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to reply to me.

      He typically tries to position himself to where the gloves get most the UV but...I knows its unavoidable, and a ligit question. I do the same thing at work all the time, especially tacking, but I know I def shouldn't, about like smoking (cant see the damage, but u know its slowly shaving healthy days off your life)

    One question, how can you weld in a short sleeve shirt and not get flash burn on your skin?
    If I weld for 5 minutes or more, my skin gets burnt to the point of it smelling for days.

    I have a Lincoln 200 Squarewave and I can only adjust the PPM. When I try to weld Autogenous without Filler, I can not get the weld to be Convexed only Concaved and It doesn't brake down the wall on the root side. I tried from 50a-70a on 3" 304 Stainless 0.065".

      I've been questioned about this,my welds have no penetration but look awesome from the outside and are not concave they're either flat or round is this suitable for a turbo dump which is under constant thermal expansion and stress from the turbo

  • @JustArandomDude11c
    @JustArandomDude11c 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hard to see in the video but when you tig autogenous do you find the weld bead profile more concave since you did not use filler and if so is this an issue? Also what's your take on 308/309LSI tig rod? Thanks bud love your work and videos!

    While I am fascinated at your skills and knowledge, I only have one question. Where is your full PPE packaging. Arms exposed doesn’t seem to be a good thing. Please explain why your arms are exposed to the UV radiation light. I have been welding and continuing to learn over the last 6 years. Maybe you could share some knowledge I have not read, seen nor heard. Thanks

    • @KANEKIDWELDS
      @KANEKIDWELDS  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Thanks for the concern! This video is from a couple years ago when I worked in the smco/diesel brothers without AC. It was incredibly hot inside that shop in the summer, some days reaching 120°+F. I would apply a highly rated complete spectrum UV sunscreen about every 45 minutes on all exposed skin. This is something I felt protected by at the time and my personal research showed it to be adequate.
      This is the specific reason I designed and created my personal line of ppe, arc defence™, at kaneindustries.co
      I created a super easy pull-on welding sleeve that deflects sparks and shields the UV spectrum from the skin. & they’re in specific sizing xs-xxl so there’s a size that will actually fit everyone that needs good welding sleeves.
