Enjoying the content! Would love to see a video on how you fabricate and design an exhaust system from scratch and why you use the materials and techniques during the build. Maybe do a series or something. Other than that. The info in you vids are great. Too bad many of us can’t afford the Dynasty series welders. Have used em and they are super smooth at low amps. That’s really what separates the value priced tig companies from the more expensive ones.

Good tips made some solid points, I’ve always kept my amperage high but u made a solid argument so I’m going to try the set and smash method. Also liked counting the dips so ur start and stops looks the same, thanks for the video. 👍

Love it when you do one of these! It's nice to have bike specific stuff on TH-cam. Question: A lot of this would carry over to titanium yeah? And design wise, I see the inner pipe inside the cone goes through to the header flange so is the cone bit just added volume for the silencer? Is it full of packing when its assembled?

Yes alot of these settings and techniques would apply for titanium, very similar ! But a few differences. I will make another how-to titanium video soon.
Yes muffler is packed when finished. The megaphone expands up and then reduces down (reverse cone) going into the muffler. The perforated tube is then secured inside the muffler by the reverse cone.

Hey just started following you from Norway 👌 great informative videos. You have seriously helped me step my welds up 👌 I am using an older Fronius Magicweld 2000 and playing with settings.
But this Super Missile 0.035” filler rod you speak about. I have literally spent the day going into every welding supplier here in the south west of Norway and not one of them knew about it and the closest they could supply was Harris SMW 1/16 😅🤦♂️
To me I work in metric and I converted it but 1/16 is not the same as 0.035” I guess they were trying to sell me something different?
HELP as I really wanna give this a go and step up my stainless exhaust game…

The technical word for supermissile is tensilweld , look online for it. I get all of my supermissile from Airgas in the states!

Super Missile should be close to ER312L. It can be used to weld 316&321ss but depending on heat load of the material you should over alloy. Also consider using ER316, 321, 347. I've been using 1mm 347 for years it doesn't really wet out nicely so it's not a Instagram rod with a lot of luster but typically the metal fatigues before the weld fails. Plus I bought 22kgs of the stuff so I might die before I get thru the spool.

maybe i was not focused and i missed it, but i couldn’t find the answer to my question. do you use pulse for it? and what are the hz? thank you!
I very rarely use pulse- only in a few specific scenarios. On all exhaust material I do not use pulse. Just 36 AMPS with peddle wide open.
i dont want to be "that guy".... but, are those welds not a little wide given the size filler rod you are using?
I like a nice , wide weld :) I would say this is ideal in terms of size - full penetration
Ps.. I use specific music 🎧 to keep my timing / BPM.
I believe every welder should have them a “Welding Playlist” ! 🤘🏼

how many amps would you use on 16 gauge tubing? I am having a difficult time getting my weld to penetrate all the way through and not having a burnt, overheated weld.
I would start around 45 amps with 16 g
@@KULLYCO thanks, I started at 45 and upped it to 50a. 45a was not quite enough for the weld to penetrate all the way thru.
hi, what tig welder do you recommend for a beginner? do you think $800 budget is good enough?
I cant comment on that too much- I have been fortunate enough to welders that are on the pricier side. I can't say for sure the best way to go for your budget. My apologies
I got a welder for 160 dollars it can do tig and stick its worked fine so far
The primeweld 225 is decent and comes with a CK torch

Still finding my way ..ehh. trying 17 and 9 size torch, using foot pedal or finger trigger etc etc.. slowly but getting there and your video was also very helpful..( I mean even apart from the secret sauce i.e. the missile ;) )cheers!
I'm having trouble sourcing "super missile weld" or "hyper rocket turbo atomic" - do either of you have a source that you could share? I'm welding really thin (.030) sheet 316.
This is NOT rocket science but BTW you need super-missile welding rods.

@@KULLYCO well logical would be to stop hurting your health right now. I recommend 3M 7500 respirator with 3M 2091 filter designed for welding which is what I use. There you go I have done homework for you no more excuses

A fume sucker is much better.
I had a small fan I salvaged to repurpose, and it fit perfectly into an old piece of stovepipe, that I mounted on the wall, to suck it outdoors.
So I cut the pipe and necked it down to about four inches, so I could use dryer vent hose to weld site.
A 5"x5" piece of 1/2" plate and rod, with a piece of coat hanger is used to hold it close to weld area.
We welded with Flux core in the tubs (bottom base that it swivels on) of Large draglines for years w/o any evacuation, so I figure
I'd better get smarter in old age.
