the switching to knife takes more than 0.05 seconds
unless you have super speed abilities and can press your knife button and primary weapon button in less than 0.05 seconds

and switching to knife and back takes longer than 0.05 seconds

so if you hold out your knife for longer then you have increased movement speed for longer
