- Watch as I install my new 13 tooth front sprocket and take it on a test drive through some mountain roads. All I can say is WOW what a difference. I highly recommend the upgrade as soon as you can. I also have the speed diode from 12oclockLabs installed so my speedometer is corrected. Let's hope for some warmer weather!
Thank you for watching!

I have a 15 250L 22,000 miles. Time for chain and sprocket's definitely going with 13 tooth...also have the Nelson Riggbag also holds a 12 pack perfect thanks for the videoi
About to do the same to my 2020 klx250. Can’t wait to see the change. Also if you ever need winter gloves I got the aurora 2 from fly. They work magic in the freezing cold.
Big ups from southern NJ.
Great video!
Hi Jacob, my best advice, is to ensure you have Bark busters with hand guards (keeps lots of wind of hands), have three pairs of gloves - Summer, 3 season and full winter waterproof. Oxfords are pretty good, heated grips and easy to install. Live in cold Scotland and Lived in South Island of New Zealand. Best to have great winter gloves first. Enjoy the road and trails.
Was gonna say the same thing. They really keep your hands from freezing. Game changer for sure
Great video 👍👌
So Jacob, I’ve got the exact same bike here in the UK, love it. I’ve only done 170 miles because we’ve had nothing but rain until early March and now we’re locked down 😫🙄 I’ve fitted Barkbusters storm hand guards, DRC edge tail tidy, Oxford Hotgrips and Pro Taper evo bars so far. Got a K&N filter and an EJK controller ready along with a 13T front. Was going to swop our the spark arrester until I realised Euro exhausts are welded closed.. so looks like an FMF. Keeps up the great content 👍🏻👍🏻
Jacob, in this video are you running the new 13 tooth front sprocket and the stock 40 tooth rear sprocket ?
Nice video, I’m also riding a 2019 250L, not too far from you. Wife and I mainly ride Famous Reading Outdoors, pretty close to your area. I’m thinking of going to 13/45 or 13/48 sprockets, since I don’t ride much on the road w it.
Great info. Nice vid. Thank for freezing your ass off and doing this. I’m going to do a 13/42 on mine.
Do you recommend switching the driven sprocket first before the front
those recommended shift points btw are minimum speeds to match each gear so the owner knows not to go any slower to lug the motor in tht gear.
I gave the video a thumbs up because it answered my question about dropping a tooth and the difference it could make. But bro your video is like 2 mins of talking about the sprocket and 13 mins of complaining about the cold 😂
oxford adventure heated grips I can recommend it, I am very happy with the warm they give
Thanks for the info! That’s the ones I was looking into.
@@JacobBoone handguards also help against cold and protects your clutch lever if you fall
I can’t wait to get some hand guards. Couple close calls already and I was shocked the clutch was ok!
what was the top speed difference?
How close to Westmoreland are ya. Park looks familiar
13 tooth ejk with airbox mod changed the bike a loot for me
How do you recalibrate the speed I'm trying to go to a 12 tooth/13 tooth and I need to recalibrate it
I bought a speed calibrator unit by 12oclocklabs. Link should be in my description for most of our videos.
Hey man, sweet vid! In this vid are you using the 13t with stock 40t sprocket and chain? I notice your description says you use 13/42. My bike is my daily commuter to work, so in all honesty i probably ride 90/10 road/dirt. What sprocket combination do you think is best ?
13 40
@@timothysajko9934 does the 13/40 give it a good boost on the low end while keeping the top end ?
Is this in mph or kph?
6:30 got my answer 🤦🏼♂️
Hey how’s you set up your license plate?
I have the TST Industries fender eliminator kit.
That thing do wheelies yet bro
It does man! Wheelie practice video coming soon!
My sprocket bolt is a nightmare. I’ve tried everything. Soaked it in pb blaster, Cheater bar, impact gun, even a hammer drill. Not budging a bit. Almost stripped the bolt already. I’m about ready to cut the damn bolt off. Klx250 blows.
Put a 48 on the rear !!!!
Where could I buy a 13 front and 42 rear sprocket?
I order a lot of my parts from CRFSONLY & Soloracer. Both great websites for the 250L.
7:41 - what are those things in the sky?
We don't talk about those
They are big plastic balls that are threaded on wires strung between high rise electric towers. Makes them (wires) more visible and easier for planes to see/avoid.
It’s just condensation.
It looks like Pennsylvania. Am I correct?
Andrew Hollywood that’s what I was thinking.
Yeah it does
not trying to be "that guy" but your chain looks like some of the links are kinked. maybe clean and relube it or get new chain...
Trust me no one wants to hear complaining in videos. It's cold, toughen up champ. Good video otherwise. Enjoy.
