Is the 2022 Nissan Armada Platinum a SUV value or BUY an Infiniti QX80?

- The Armada is the largest SUV in Nissan's lineup and the Platinum trim ups the lusxury. On the outside you will find full LED headlights, revised grill, Nissan badge and wheels. On the inside you will be welcomed by a full leather interior, new 12in infotainment system, and plenty of interior room. Under the hood is a 5.3L V8 that pumps out 400HP & mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 Nissan Armada Platinum a MISTAKE or BUY the Infiniti QX80?

Joe, I dont want all digital displays. I know I am in the minority but I hate that trend. It looks cheap like a video game. I like real gauges.

Hey, Joe... I have to say that for the money, this particular Nissan is well worth the investment as opposed to the Infiniti QX80. More bang for the buck and the conveniences are just not that different when you consider all that you get with this Nissan model. This Armada is great, in my humble opinion. I had an Armada for 4 years and 80k plus miles. Only required tires, oil changes and wipers. Great vehicle!

Thank you for bringing this car review to us another good one as always. I drove a NISSAN: Armada 2021 model and I loved it makes you feel large and in charge. From what I see 👀 with this 2022 Platinum trim I would go with this over the INFINITE: QX80 mainly because of the pricing difference. Great review as always have a good day.
Platinum is almost 100k in the Middle East if you get the fixed middle row hand rest console trim with all other options. Car does looks majestic on the road, they did a great job.
Those 22 inch wheels design and size are spot on 👍

I'd take the Armada over QX80 any day like the major changes they did with it. In 2017 the body looked old than like was a 2010 now looks more top of the line. I love the blue color as interior color to these are popular see a lot of them now.

That's very smart the new Sequoia's 437 hp and 583 lbs torque tows 9,400 lbs and it's fuel economy is be than the Nissan.
Well that’s a great suv I almost bought back when I was married when they first came out I loved it but it was so nice that I didn’t want to take it off road so that’s when I brought a Dodge Durango still room for family and I didn’t feel too bad taking it off road but I wish I could have both Nissan this suv is nice if I get the chance of buying one again I’ll probably get one even though that freakin Jeep you review awhile back was awesome but the cost was a little bit higher than I could afford but I can dream

I am FINALLY getting one of these it looks like.
They make an "S" trim with fewer bells and whistles again and the end of year incentives are crazy.
For the 4WD "S' the MSRP is only 55k to begin with, and the end of year incentives are huge this year (supposedly an update is coming next year).
It may never be this affordable again to buy a Nissan Patrol new (albeit a decontended one).
The "S" I am looking at still has LED headlights, 360 degree camera though. But the stereo is only 4 speaker, the rear view mirror is manual, the outside mirrors are still heated. Exactly the simple but incredible sturdy, high mechanical content, lifetime durability SUV one would want.
And I am paying less than a new loaded Pathfinder or 4Runner, for brand new full size V8 body-on-frame goodness.!! 🥰

You should check out the insta360 cameras. Would be pretty dope if when you do the pov driving, it’s more leveled to what you actually see when you’re driving. The cameras are pretty small and light

in terms of fit and finish, I’m pretty sure they are made at the same factory in Japan so that is not a differentiator between the two

@@RaitisRides Good point. For me, I can still get Armada SV’s locally for $50k which is under msrp. Cloth seats but a pretty good value for a full size SUV with a killer motor. Save the $20k.
As I said before, no need to buy the Infiniti QX80! This is exactly it! Save that 20k and invest in it somewhere else.
At 13 mpgs you could put that extra 20k back in the gas tank 😂

Well Joe you got me 2 for 2 today haha. Bought wife a 2021 Armada SL earlier this year. $58k with captain chairs in middle instead of bench. Vehicle does it all. We tested similar Infiniti but for the cash went Nissan. Agree with the sunroof zonk! Love the Platinum package wheels and digital rear view mirror wish we got those. BTW it can tow a hell of a lot!
Do you like the second row captain’s chairs? Seems almost all have them, but I think the bench seat is more practical. But I may settle for the 7 seater. In my Expedition ( totaled a month ago, USAA is still slow rolling my payment; sad such a good company went woke and keeps losers on staff) I hauled my get home bags etc. So needed space back there, the 3rd row seat was NEVER used, but occasionally had 4 passengers, 3 in the second row.
@@Citizen-pg8eu we do like the Captian chairs and have more use for them than bench. They fold very easily for access to 3rd row. Storage between the chairs is large. One grip is they don’t move back or forth.

I'd get the Armada and save the 💰 Not much has changed with Nissan/Infiniti since the days where my 01' I30t was a fully loaded Maxima with an analog clock.

Merry Christmas Joe and Lori. Nissans doing a great job……..I would go with this Nissan , vs Infiniti. You get the same features as Infiniti, so you’re just paying more for the badge, and most likely, service costs. I like the look of the Nissan more, as well.

Hi Joe, I actually bought the 2021 which seems to be same as this? If so just a correction on the badging because my 2021 has the updated badging so I believe it's the first year model to have instead of the 2022. I am wondering if there are any changes between the years?

The only mistake is that Nissan USA don't have the Aussie/USE Patrol. Now that is a beast, with a wealth of 4WD Upgrades. Way tougher than just a family wagon.

the tuck and roll on the doors is a big turn off for me...
Does it come up with good towing capacity? I am thinking to two a RV trailer (weight ~ 6500lbs), people suggest me to go to pickup truck like F150, wondering if Armada can be used as alternative given my RV trailer wouldn't be more than 6500lbs.

This thing looks like the Infiniti QX56. Not interested. Its probly a half decent vehicle though. Nissan's are usually pretty reliable and it has a fairly nice interior with tv's in the back headrests. For a family of four this would be a nice ride. I would go for a Grand Cherokee Limited though and have a BETTER off road vehicle, better all year around and save about 20G's. Maybe even 30G's.

At 20:10 not really. They can use the 12V you showed at 19:05 on the left side at the end as a charger.
And what about the multicolor interior light changing they need to step it up for that kind of money.

I guess they didn't tell him about the $1200 integrated exhaust manifold/cat cost plus labor...Piss poor design since the manifold is prone to cracking throwing a cat code

Your maintenance cost will be the same as a QX80. I do say, if I wasn't looking at the leather I would say I was in the Infinity. top price $71k for Nissan, entry price $71k for Infinity. It's 60 miles to find an infinity dealer, Nissan dealer is just down the street. No question which it would be. Enterprise gave me an Infinity for a rental and outside of filling it with gas I love it. The backup sensors and the auto braking when traffic slows have already saved me from another accident. Visibility is great. The pickup trucks are not as intimidating as it was in the sedan or mini van.

That brake calipers and rotors are just too small for a big SUV. Other than that, I like almost everything about the new Armada. I'd take the Armada over QX80.

You do know that the Armada is the least expensive full size SUV out ofv every single manufacturer right? So if this is not a great value, then you probably should be shopping for a mid size
