Her song Time After Time is incredible. Makes me cry every time!
Every single time. 😢
Yes! Gets me right in the feels
Yeah, the video, when he mouths the words "I'm not coming with you" 😟😢😔😖😭😭😭😭
It was one of my grandma’s favorite songs...I miss her.
Yep
This is when Cyndi Lauper: Pop Star became Cyndi Lauper: Artist
Listen to her song time after time or girls just want to have fun
Cyndi is great. You'll also live "Time After Time." She also does a great cover of "Iko Iko."
Yes! Also Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! ❤️💙💜💚
I loved her cover of Iko Iko. I gotta look it up again.
oh yeah! Iko Iko! I forgot about her version. thx!
Iko Iko is fantastic.
Cyndi has the same voice live. She's incredible and really blew us away in the 80s. The voice, the songs and the hair.
This is what a #1 hit from the 80's, from someone with real talent, sounds like! Breathe it in!
Why do her songs make me sad but in a beautiful way.
Still chokes me up......after all these years.
Cyndi is also a strong woman with strong convictions who basically left music for a while because the ‘suits’ of the label who took over from the creative team criticized her style and style of dress. Cyndi remains true to her talent and vision.
Cyndi is a legend, one the best 80's artists.
The Princess of Pop
@@TheKyrix82 Who's the queen? She's older than Madonna.
@Elivros Fastmail Never said there wasn't. As I said she was one of the best, so that also means there are others.
You have no idea what emotions people can experience by listening to this music again, thanks is powerful
Try her song "Time after Time",and "Girls just wanna have fun".
This is my favorite of hers. She was like the patron saint of weird little girls in the 80s and this song helped me a lot. A lot of her songs did.
As a fellow weird little girl in the '80s, I definitely gotta agree. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" was always one of my favourite songs as soon as I heard it. For example.
I'm weird too. She's talented
Cyndi is one of those acts that were always underrated in the 80s, she's one the greatest around, both in performing and songwriting. Check out some of her live performances and you will know what I mean. I recommend "All Through the Night" and "I Drove All Night" both from "Live.. At Last" from 2004.
Cyndi is like a rainbow! She is beautiful! This song is beautiful! Great reaction!😍
Cindi Lauper=Talented! She's simply fabulous!
She's such a good artist and so true to herself. I love her quirkiness. She always shows her true colors❤💛💚💙💜I love your comments on the song😊
Love when she does strawberry fields or pretty much anything live. If you haven't seen it, check her out on the tonight show with Johnny Carson, its great!! I found it on here but, who knows if its still up
I'm glad I was around when Cyndi was making this music. She's such a unique, fun and creative talent. Her songs will live on for a very long time if not forever.
She still makes lots of music.... she's done albums if club/ dance, Country, Blues and standards. She sings everything!
Beautiful song from a beautiful person. I respect Cyndi a lot.
Beautiful song from Cyndi.
Fun fact.
Cyndi Lauper is the composer of the current Broadway hit, “Kinky Boots”!!
As an 80’s kid I always loved her, but after watching the Kinky Boots movie and then adoring the stage musical my estimation of her went thru the roof - it blew my mind how she took every single important line and theme and turned it into such a sad, real, joyful and uplifting show... incredible talent 🤓
@Kris Moodley there’s a vid of her on here singing “I’m Not My Father’s Son” on the Graham Norton show 🙂
Such an amazing song and artist ...love Cyndi Lauper so much....
Time After Time is another beautiful song by Cyndi, also love her version of I Drove All Night
Now you know another face from that "We Are The World" video. :)
Girls Just Want To Have Fun is her signature hit.
I really enjoy the video.
Also 'Time After Time'. 💙💜
Yea! Send me more Cyndi. She is way cool. 🐕
One of the best songs ever written, IMO
Cyndi was the absolute right singer to cover this song because she is not afraid to show her True Colors ....She is the 👑 Queen!!
I am most definitely NOT afraid to admit that this song’s powerful and beautiful message always moves me to tears when I listen to it. I don’t know, I just can’t help it.
When the working day is done,... "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"!
Thanks for reviewing my Diva, Cyndi. This song literally saved my life when it came out in the 80's. I was a miserable and very self hating young person. I very much needed the message of this song and it felt like she was reaching out to me directly. This video and song is like a salve.
Time After Time is my favorite Cyndi Lauper song
Cindy shows her true colors on this one. So beautiful.
Beautiful song, "Time After Time" next.
This is an amazing song. I cry as soon as the first notes start. I saw Cyndi perform this song wrapped in a rainbow flag during gay Pride month There wasn’t a dry eye in the 10,000 seat arena.
I’m just watching a year later. I was looking for someone to mention that this song is a gay anthem. She wrote it for her sister who is a lesbian. I saw her perform it years ago at a pride festival in San Diego. She was wrapped in a huge pride flag. So awesome!
FINALLY! You got around to the original singer of this song. You could also listen to her do the original published version of "I drove all night".
@Kris Moodley It was written for him in 1987. However the first one to RELEASE the song was Cyndi Lauper. She released it in 1989. His version was finally released long after his death in 1992. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Drove_All_Night
@@apoch003 As a Cyndi Lauper hardcore fan... It almost feels like a relieve when I read someone writing FACTS about the whole I Drove All Night situation. Thank You.
@@apoch003 Cyndi's version is better then Roy's and Celine's!
Time after time is beautiful
Necessary message when there's so much pressure to fit in. Love this song.
EDDIE GRANT'S ELECTRIC AVENUE.
JOE JACKSON'S STEPPING OUT.
DEE LITE'S GROOVE IS IN THE HEART ❤
Joe jackson... wow... blast from the past. Awesome song!
@@fonzsalon Jay said he almost reacted to Joe Jackson a few days ago. He must have a ton of requests.
Time after Time is one of her great songs.
One of my favorites.
One of the most underrated vocalists of our time, truly.
She wrote all the songs in the musical “Kinky Boots” - a very clever lady
Her live version of this on David Letterman's Late Show when he was still on NBC (LOL) in like 87 is Bone Chilling.
Check out this live version, just by herself playing a dulcimer: th-cam.com/video/pUVcULOQPqc/w-d-xo.html
yes it was!!!
Let me start by saying, i like his personality. Adorable! Wasn't born in the 80's. I got to know about Cyndi in the late 90's, My parents are huge fans of her & introduce me to 80's music. Love Cyndi style & unique voice. Money Changes Everything needs a reaction, Great song. I Drove all night, Change of heart & You don't know are few of her songs i like so much. More of this icon!!!
Cyndi Lauper is an amazing singer/musician (listen to anything of hers live) and a good, caring, intelligent person. She did a great live cover of The Beatles/John Lennon's Strawberry Fields Forever in Central Park, NYC.
So many great options with Cyndi! I recommend Time After Time, I Drove All Night and She Bop.
great choice!! Cyndi rules!!
She is incredibly talented
She Bop! Why am I the first one to say this? Anyway, "True Colors" - modern classic.
Everyone seems to forget She Bop, first song of hers I can remember hearing, good call
I just recommended that as well 💗
You do know, of course, She Bop was about masturbation! LOL
kev7161 In the proud tradition of The Vapors, Divinyls, and Tommy TuTone.
Nothing like a song about chicks diddling themselves!
Yes! Cindi! Awesome voice and personality. Fantastic.
My favorite Cyndi song is Time After Time!
Cyndi is AMAZING. Saw her in concert the talent is unreal!
She has a lot of songs. "Time After Time" is one of her most loved.
I loved "All Through the Night", "Change of Heart". "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" is probably one of her most popular songs and she sang "Goonies R Good Enough" from the 80's classic movie "Goonies" which is on TV or streaming somewhere every 5 minutes! Lol
Anyway she has TONS of songs to go through. Have fun!
Love her.My fave is Girls Just Wanna have fun. Second to that is She Bop.
Look up what she bop is about by song singer.
@@fonzsalon i'm 60 years old. I know what "bop" means. Not that i bop but it's in the vein of "My umbrella we employed it." it's a lot more innocent sex song than "Relax, when you wanna come" or "I want your sex." Or "push it" or "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi."
Cyndi Lauper is great. Her and Madonna were some of the first 20 albums I bought as a teenager with my own money
So has an awesome catalog of music!! However, I have to suggest a live performance with Patti Labelle, Lady Marmalade!!!! It will knock your socks off!!!!!!!
I remember seeing that duet, and also Time after Time I believe. I was so mad at myself for not recording it and not getting to see it again for many years until I finally found it on TH-cam.
Gotta check out "Money Changes Everything," "SheBop," and "Goonies R Good Enough." Cyndi is one of the greatest!
The words to this song .... great message
Happy you got to hear her.
This is a beauty from Cyndi. I’ve missed her! 💖💖💖👍
Turd Ferguson, nice to see you haven't gotten lost in the fiery pits🤣
Shannon Silva SAME WITH YOU!!!! 😂😂😂 OMG that was sooo funny. I see it commenting occasionally, and it always gives me a giggle! Whooooo I’m so scared! 🔥🔥🔥😂😂☮️
@@turdferguson400
Hey, if thats my destination at least I'll be with the fun people😁
Shannon Silva Yeah, mate! Kinda brings a new meaning to the phrase ‘YOU JUST GOT BURNED!!’ 😂😂😂 😂😎😎
@@turdferguson400
Actually right about now where I live, it definitely looks like hell, orange/brown sky and no sunshine
I love this song. It makes me think of my brother who passed away. He had a rough life. When she whispers "can't remember when I last saw you laugh", it breaks me every time
I'm so sorry got your loss.
This song was a favorite of mine and my best friend and also Time After Time. My friend got killed in a car crash in our town. Her fsmily out together a CD to play during the wake softly in the background. They asked some of her friends to pick a song they felt embodied their friendship with her. Mom said Chrissy I want you to pick as many as you want because you were really like "our extra triplet" in our family~she was a twin with her brother. They had a huge family of 8 kids but Mom & Dad always said that I was like her 9TH child. So this is the song I picked and also Time After Time for her. I'm in my mid 50s now and I lost her back in 1986. But to me, it still feels in a lotta ways like I JUST lost my "triplet". Every time I hear this song it feels so raw for mr sll over again on one level. But on another level it males me feel closer to her. I can't explain it but those are the emptiness that hit me whenever I hear this. I hope that you can understand what I mean by this, I believe that maybe you are someone who can. RIP Sonia. ❤
DMBO88-
So sorry for your loss. I think we all have struggles in life and I'd hope that his hard times balanced out with the good ones, I get the sense that he may have had a lopsided experience, again so sorry.
Just exactly how I felt when I first heard this song.
I saw her in concert a few years ago opening for Cher. I had no idea how amazing her voice is live. She walked out into the audience and stood right by my seat and I was stunned. I’ve always been a fan. She was born one week before me, making her 67, and she still sound great.
She did a great cover of "I drove all night" by Roy Orbison which I think you reacted to
Alec Neate Yes, I LOVE her cover of that one! ☮️
Cyndi was the first to release I Drove All Night in 1989 and she sold the most copies. The song writers first offered the song to Orbison, but when he wasn't interested in releasing the song, they gave it to Lauper. Orbison's demo was produced and released after his death in the 90s.
daydreamer Ah, I didn’t know that. Thanks.
I LOVE Cyndi 💘
Money Changes Everything is one if her best!
Great reaction to a marvellous song and unique artist.
😍👍🏻🎶🏆 love from France
Love her songs “All Through the Night”, “She Bop” and “Money Changes Everything”
She can really bring out the feelings, can't she?
This song touches my soul every single time I hear it. It makes me think of my beautiful autistic son. Thank you for doing this one. 💜💜
Cyndi does have an amazing voice, she is awesome!
The first time I heard 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' it blew my mind coz it was so fresh and different. She is unique! Also try the beautiful 'All Through The Night'. You're welcome. Peace JV.
This song of Cindi always brings tears to my eyes..i can see it moved you too jayee. SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS COZ ITS BEAUTIFUL LIKE A RAINBOW!! 🎧😢😍😍😍❤❤
Love Cyndi! Time after time! Speaks volumes both songs🎵🎶🎵🎶❤️✨🎧
Her first performance on Johnny Carson "Girls just wanna have fun" is great she's really good live!
Cyndi is a beautiful spirit with great heart. So much talent.
First cassette tape I ever bought. Loved Cyndi then, still love her now.
Superb vocal by the amazing Cyndi Lauper. Thanks JV, love your reaction... Heartfelt as always. ✌️
Cyndi & Madonna were THE ladies of the 80’s ❤️
This song always makes cry 😭💖
Cyndi has such a distinctive voice and way of singing which takes you places few other voices can - “Time After Time” is another stunning example of this so that one would be awesome for you to react to!
She walked away from music for years because the ‘suits’ took over at the recording studios. They asked her why she dressed the way she did. I admire that. She came back and blew them all away! I wonder if they even knew?
Please play 'Somewhere Out There" a duet by James Ingraham and Linda Ronstadt... If you are missing someone two great voices...
Or her duet with Aaron Neville
I second your request! Great collaboration.
James Ingramwas is we are the world video too - great voice. Rip to him, he passed last year
One of my favorite singers, she dressed so cute, and her hair, just loved everything about her💯🎶🎤🔥💫👩🏼🦳
GREAT, old-fashioned entertainer. She can do it all.
Please do her cover of “I Drove All Night” (originally by Rob Orbison). It’s my favorite Cyndi Lauper song.
I'm a 1980 baby. The amazing Cindy Lauper was a huge part of the sounstrack of my childhood. Her voice is so strong yet so soft and sweet. She's one in a trillion! Loved this vid. Thank you.
She sang a wonderful part in the song with all the singers yesterday Very unique
I got chills watching you watch this. Love her.
Relevant for the 80s but more so now I think.
Cyndi’s great
And that's EXACTLY what she does; shows her true colors, by following the beat to her own drum. Thank you for reacting to her! I knew u'd love her music & that very unique voice. Now that you know who she is, do u recall seeing her in a COSENTYX commercial? She's must older, but still looks amazing & rockin' a kick ass hair due, as usual. One commercial she is sporting pink hair & the other one, her hair is like a silver color. If u have seen them before, u had no ideal she was a singer, huh?! Lol...
Off the same album she did a masterful rendition of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On".. incredible version with an incredible video..
Yeah she's a pretty special artist. I miss the 80's.
This one was my childhood!!! Love love love the message
Thank you for your first reaction to Cyndi. She's not only got a great voice (soft, yet raspy and strong when needed), she's also a performance artist when she does her videos. Never was afraid to try a hairstyle/color or costumes, either. Cyndi is truly unique. :)
I really love this song , thanks for reaction.
Beautiful meaning in this song
The 80's had some of the best ballads of all time. There's this drama in 80's music that just really stands out.
the first time that Cindy Lauper came to Brazil, in the 80s, I went to watch her show here in São Paulo. I went alone because my friends couldn't go. I was a young man of only 17 or 18 years old. Jayvee, don't forget to listen to the song "time after time". Best wishes to you and your family. a hug from Brazilians to you and everyone who follows your channel.
🤗🤗🤗
"All Through the Night" is a nice slow one with great instrumentals.
Love that one!
I’ve of my favorite songs of all time. Her voice is crazy unique and this song is full of so much emotion.
Time After Time is amazing as well.
