    Lawrence, being a farmer is not just farming is it? You have to be an agriculture expert, a veterinarian, a diesel mechanic, a welder, a plumber, a carpenter, a sheet metal man, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. My hat's off to you.

    The farmer is very creative at solving problems on the farm. I like how he took the time out to explain to what he was doing to Wesley. It's important to teach the next generation some of the necessary skills. Those newholland haybines have bushing isues quite often . I've replaced our 3 times in 2 years . Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !

  • @earlyoung2863
    @earlyoung2863 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I keep a small cheap tarp from Wal-Mart behind the PU seat. If it's sunny like that I'll tie it up over me for shade. I just leave the baler twine tied to it. I know Lawrence was suffering.😌. This also cuts the glare and makes it easier to see under there. I've done those same pins and bushings on mine. They're a bear! Now I grease them TWICE a day. Otherwise the little grease hole drilled through the pin can get clogged and the bushing runs dry.
    Thanks Meredith, for helping the folks who don't farm understand what everyday farmlife is like. AND, EACH and EVERY one of us farmers learns something NEW every day. I think maybe that's what makes us stay. Imagine that!

    The corn looks good. I've seen several fields around home here (eastern VA) that never even tried to silk before it burnt up in the 100 degree days. Now we are getting some rain, but it's coming too late for a lot of the earliest corn.

    Hi Meredith first time I have left a message I love everything about your family the farm your videos I look forward to seeing what happens next ya son could not have a better teacher than your husband and your self if you have to fix anything ask a farmer we always will do the impossible and it works and for working on machinery in 100 degree heat is no fun I used to do the wheat harvest run from Texas to Canada nothing worse than Oklahoma sun with no shade laying under a combine lol 😂 I know how you guys feel. I didn’t know how much I miss the farm until I had to give it up my wife and I lived in South Dakota and now has dementia she is so young to have it but it’s so hard to deal with so to get her out of the cold weather we brought a home near Knoxville Tennessee we really love the mountains sometimes I don’t know if to laugh or cry this is definitely the hardest thing I have ever dealt with so watching your videos have become what the doctor ordered your beef roast looked awesome today I do follow your cook channel too I will have to try that I made my wife and I unstuffed cabbage today and it turned out pretty good cannot wait to hear your sons guitar playing can’t beat some good ole mountain music I am glad you are getting T-shirts 4 and 5 xl I need a biggern lol 😂 I remember when I lived at home my dad had a small farm in England and he was definitely a wonderful teacher too it reminds me of how it was when I was growing up and my dad teaching me how to do stuff and fixing things when I got to 21 I packed my bags and moved to America and I am still here I love this country so much it’s definitely home and watching your son and husband working together reminds me of me and my dad please keep up the awesome work with ya videos I so look forward to seeing the next one well I better quit jibba jabben I feel like I am taken up ya time but I just wanted to say hi instead of being on here not saying anything say hi to ya family for me and I am glad I left you a message PS stay out of the heat best ya can and I agree I cannot wait till the fall it’s my favorite time to well bye for now and keep up the awesome job with ya page

    I am new to your channel and just love watching your videos! You are a true down to earth southern gal..love listening to you talk and your southern accent. I was born and raised on a farm here in Ohio and can relate to all the repairs and figuring out how to fix something when you don't have the right part. My dad was the same way, he got tired of taking things to the local welder for repair so he bought his own welder, learned how to do all the repairs himself.We also were John Deer people..we love the Green Machines!

    Folks don't understand that humidity is so much higher down there. It just makes it feel so miserable, bless your heart and hang in there.

    Supper suggestion: Sliced, chilled tomato salad, fresh garden stuff, a quick shower and then rocking chair till bedtime. Then tomorrow, do it again. A farmers' Life...Another word for riffs is...licks.

    Lawrence is a well of farming wisdom, I wish he would warm up to the camera and speak more. This is coming from an Old Farmer. Love your videos and appreciate you posting them. Stay safe and God Bless.

      He might, but then people start whining about his manner of speaking, and the camera person starts translating and repeating what he says. I'd stop talking, too.
