So the conclusion to the original Star Wars EU timeline(along with this video series) has finally come. I would love to say thank you for making this series on the Star Wars Expanded Universe timeline without TCW messing with the timeline and actually inform newcomers of what really happened. Since too many fans seem often put TCW in the EU timeline despite many details not lining up, even if there were attempts to fit it in.
@@bionic-tale4313it wasn't supposed to fit is what George Lucas thought the Clone Wars was his version of the Clone Wars is basically just his 6 movies in his Clone Wars but the people at Lucas Arts try to make it fit into the EU but they just never got a chance to finish it because of Disney buyout
@@maulkiller10 Well, not really as George Lucas has his "canon" is the six movies, which is G-canon in the Hierarchy, the highest level of canon, where the six films are. TCW isn't mentioned by Lucas in a quote, nor is in the interviews of the show.
One of my favorite eras in Star Wars because it has the best faction in Star Wars, the Fel Empire. The Fel Empire, they are the end result of what if the Jedi Lords are allowed to exist and prosper. That is to say, a ruling dynasty composed of the followers of the light side.
I've been reading the original EU in chronological order lately and it dawned on me of what Star Wars has always been about for me thanks to it. Star Wars is the story of the cyclical conflict between the Light and Dark sides of the Force spanning several millennia within the galaxy's history and often exemplified by the conflict between the Jedi and the Sith as well as the rise and fall of several galactic empires and civilizations. It is all one story, told through various eras of galactic history, culminating in the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker and the triumphs and tribulations of his descendants. It's not just the movies George Lucas created but a sprawling epic that has shaped the galaxy and it's denizens in countless ways. As far as I'm concerned, the EU will always be the true story of Star Wars. And while I'm sad that it's no longer continuing, I am glad it's still being remembered and preserved via channels like this one for years to come.
I want to give you a true and honest thank you. This has been an amazing journey through so much lore, and I’m so happy that there are still so many people who care so much about Star Wars as it used to be. Before the dark times. Before the mouse.
I just found your channel yesterday and I have binged this entire series! You might just be my new favorite Star Wars TH-camr and it’s so unfair how small your channel is! At any rate, keep up the good work, you’re fantastic!
This series is amazing, now that it's complete I shall watch it all over again. It's great to have a general overview of the SW timeline, especially for newer fans trying to get into the EU. I'm hoping you'll go into greater depth and detail about these characters and events in future transmissions.
Thank you for this series, you are the my favorite lore channel and i appreciate keeping the EU lore alive and untainted. Further 37:36 easily still could have been the new story for what was ep 7
Thank you so much for making this series of videos man. I’m only on part 5 but I saw that this conclusion was posted yesterday and I just wanna say this so far has been the best way I’ve found on TH-cam to experience legends since I’ve only ever had surface level knowledge of it before and it can be so daunting and confusing to know where to begin with the EU. I look forward to catching up to this video (the legacy era is so fascinating to me for some reason) and bravo for doing this over a number of years and completing it good sir 🙌
i think the true Star Wars universe is the Lucas canon, that is the 6 episodes, the clone wars without the disney season and the Lucas ideas for the sequels
While I am sad that the story ended quite abruptly, I do appreciate how intense the Krayt Era was. The old EU really went out with a bang. Yes, the comics are edgy, but somehow that works to their benefit. Maybe it's thanks to them having such a distinctive graphical style and identity. So many memorable badass characters too: Gar Stazi, Roan Fel, Krayt, Talon, Maladi, Wredd, Corrde, Marasiah, .... the list goes on. I loved the grumpy but loving father-daughter relationship of the Yages. An interesting inversion of the usual trope of "militaristic father disappointed in getting a daughter and drilling her to be the son he will never have", where the daughter actually doesn't begrudge him for doing so and adopts the best aspects of soldier's honour. They don't have much screentime together, but when they do appear, it is usually very wholesome in a subdued way that you don't see too often.
This has been a true blast to watch. Makes me want to read all the books. Haven't searched your channel yet, what would be the best books to start out with and where would you get them best? Would love some physical copies as well.
Could you do a video on every clone trooper type and named officer? Im trying to get them all as lego figures but it's hard to filter through all the stupid 2008 clones.
That's a tall order lol! I did do a breakdown of the Grand Army of the Republic where I briefly go over some trooper types and their equipment and I do mention a few notable troopers by name but I haven't gone that in depth yet. Maybe I can do an overview at some point focusing on notable clones. However, taking the time to mention every single named (or at least numbered) trooper might be an exercise in futility because I'd always be at risk of missing 1 guy who was named like once on the back of a micromachines package or something lol. There also comes the caveat of what I would name the video because "every named clone trooper ever" would have people expecting me to name TCW and Di$canon which I have not interest in researching lol
I dont think so, I couldn't find any specific information on what Cade's direct lineage to Luke is, but given that him and Marisiah Fel seem to be of similar age and Roan Fel explicitly states that Jag fel was his grandfather in the comics, I made an educated guess, based on the ages of Jag vs Luke that Cade must at least be Luke's great great grandson if Jag is Marisiah's great grandfather. Which makes sense because Jag and Jaina are one generation below Luke, so if Soontir Fel is Marisiah's great great grandfather and he's of similar age to Luke, then Luke must be Cade's great great grandfather. If you have any sources that explicitly state that Luke is a much more distant ancestor to Cade, id be very interested to know because the primary sources (the legacy comics) don't state it, and what secondary sources I have available to me (the Essential guides) only cover the legacy era in an extremely limited capacity.
Morrigan Corde is what Dr. Catherine Halsey should've been, at least forgive herself and maybe john and the surviving Spartans can at least clean up her act and come to terms with what she done and atone for her sins and at least reconcile with any surviving family members at least with cortana, instead of what 343 gave us both star wars and halo fans
@НеАнтон-ы2э with the Tales comics, a lot of them were treated as C canon as long as they fit within the overarching story and didn't conflict with anything established. We never see 3P0 again past Crucible so I chose to include Storyteller in that 100 year gap between Crucible and Legacy
Out of all the eu user I see (only talking shit about how Star Wars is ruined for the 69 time, how Dave is a bad man, how Disney is woke bullshit etc) you are the only one among with the other who aren’t toxic………..
While I would agree with some of the points in the brackets, I also appreciate a positive attitude. I'm sure you'll find more people like that. Maybe not commentary channels, but rather those that channel their frustration (if there is any) into creative projects. I was - for example - pleasantly surprised to learn that there seem to be several efforts to make animated adaptations of the original Thrawn Trilogy. And if you don't know him already, check out CoreyLoses for some incredibly enthusiastic modding of the Empire at War games, as well as entirely unbiased SW commentary.
I don't like Legecy: story of Cade Skywalker and Darth Krayt. I would prefer if Star Wars EU ended with final showdown against the "Queen of Stars" instead of "another Dark Lord".

I mean. I like TCW a lot. But this was a great timeline indeed.
@@blue_wolfproductions12 I'm not going stop you from liking it. I'm saying that it doesn't fit with most of the EU due to how much it contradicts.

Most underrated era in the EU. It’s nostalgic and familiar but also brand new and unique.
Perhaps one day more will be uncovered
The Expanded Universe will always be the true canon of Star Wars.

Such a great timeline, a shame we didn't find out what happened to Cade, did he have kids, did he eventually join the Jedi full time etc etc.
