    Thanks so much for this. Haven't tried it yet, but now I know it's worth doing. I am going to try Liquitex or Holbein acrylic inks for my refills.

      You’re welcome. Glad it helped. They should work great as both good quality inks. The opaque inks work best.

      @@PeterEvansArt I reclaimed a marker with Liquitex acrylic ink. The refilled marker didn't work until I removed and soaked the nib in water for several hours. I had to a day scrub it to get the old dried acrylic off. After that, it worked great.

      @@C0raBr0wn that’s great. The nibs can get dry. I soak mine if I haven’t used in a while. 👍🏻

    Golden hi flo also works but if you want cheap alternitives !! cheap acrylic airbrush works because it's made to flow better and you can make flow medium diy, my own recipe is cheap acrylic with cheap tattoo ink because it's very pigment rich and if i need a binder I use wallpaper paste!! finally a good red colour!!

    Sweet, thx! Been refilling mine for a while now but still came away with a few good tips.
    And the measuring of the content was very interesting too. A lot less ink in these than one might think...
    Do you know if it's possible to refill the PC-1MR as well?
    Haven't tried to open them yet but the tip isn't threaded like these, but press-fitted,waaay in there.

    • @PeterEvansArt
      @PeterEvansArt  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Glad you got a few tips from the video. I'm not a fan of the PC-1MR but you can get the lid off by using a thin palette knife or butter knife. Put pressure between the colour bit and the black part and pry off. Pliers are no good as it squashes the tips. Not ideal but that's how I have done it in the past. I was surprised by the ink levels in the Posca markers. Not very sustainable that's why I refill them. Cheers for the comment and feedback 👍🏻😀

      I just uploaded a video about How to Refill the Posca PC-1MR. It turns out that small pliers are the best way. Check out the video as it is a tricky process but well worth it to hang onto those empty markers. 😀

    • @PeterEvansArt
      @PeterEvansArt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey. You could try with one marker. Worth a try as if it doesn’t work you could always empty it out and clean it up. I have tried with a flow acrylic but had to use some liquifying medium and water. Just found ink was easier.

    Which refill option have you found gives the most opaque white?

    • @PeterEvansArt
      @PeterEvansArt  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I have been using the Molotow White mostly for refilling and it is pretty good for opacity if you don’t dilute with water.

    Hi Peter, I really liked your video, have you tried with printer ink? Or plotter ink? I have a posca and empty markers to fill, I use acrylic ink but it is not as fluid as molotov, any suggestions?

    • @PeterEvansArt
      @PeterEvansArt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I haven't tried printer ink but that is a good idea. Not sure if it is water based? I am going to try some liquid paint I have and use a thinner such as floetrol or even water.

      I buy a fairly normal acrylic ink of normal quality as far as I think, they are not known brands, I have diluted with water but when making strokes are poorly defined, it is not consistent, the empty markers are a purchase I made by Amazon from a brand called "Kisston Marker" I guess they are fairly inexpensive markers to start.
      But I'm starting to question the quality, because the acrylic ink I use is not the worst either.

    • @PeterEvansArt
      @PeterEvansArt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Pedro, Could be worth trying your ink in an empty Posca Marker just to rule out the ink as the issue of the poorly defines and inconsistent line. Ive never tried the Kisston Markers before.

    • @pedrollobet
      @pedrollobet 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hey my friend, I tried refilling a marker with printer ink and surprisingly the markers work very well so far, I didn't use any particular brand, I was given 1L of generic ink and so far it works quite well.
      obviously it does not have the viscosity that acrylic ink can have or the density, but I think it is an alternative, greetings from Venezuela.

      Hey mate. I got mine ages ago from my Art supplier who no longer sells it. I was thinking of either Amazon or I have looked online at Jacksons Art Supplies who’s in UK. I’m in Australia and no real suppliers here so might try that. I have been using Amsterdam ink recently with success but a bit expensive. Hope that helps.

    Just few questions... If I had no pliers or im not allowed to use them what is another way to unscrew the top? And what if I have no acrilic paint/ink to refill? What else can I use to refill it?

    • @PeterEvansArt
      @PeterEvansArt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It would be difficult to get the cap / top off without pliers, clamp or some other gripping device so you can unscrew. Once you get it off once if you don’t over tighten you could just undo with fingers like i do. You really need ink/ paint to refill. You can add a bit if water to get a bit of extra life but it dilutes the colour.
