    Thank you again! Posca should be paying you for this as you are doing a brilliant job of explaining these pens in detail.

    Through trial and error I’ve also landed on smooth Bristol as an excellent option for poscas. I’m currently using Canson XL smooth Bristol. Strathmore 400 marker paper also works well. Unfortunately the paper does peel a bit sometimes. I bought some expensive watercolor hot press paper to try to see if I get better results, but I’m scared to use it 😂.

      Thanks for the Canson XL Smooth Bristol recommendation! Glad to hear it works well with your Poscas, as well as the Strathmore 400 marker paper. Good luck with your hot press watercolor paper. Let me know how it goes! 😃🎨🌟

    Great video! Thank you for showing how to refill the pens. Posca only offers turquoise in the 8k size, so I’ve been trying to concoct my own using acrylic inks/high flow acrylic in a smaller empty marker. I don’t mind the limited color range most of the time, except for wanting more blue-greens :). I’d like something a little more blue than their emerald green that’s available in most sizes.

      Thanks for your comment! 💖 Glad it was helpful to see how to refill Posca pens! That's cool that you've been experimenting with creating your own turquoise. You could check out Montana's color range to see if anything is a close match. I like that the Montana paint refills are matte, just like the Poscas, so they work well together. 😊

    Thank you for sharing; What are the key methods to avoid streaks when coloring in an area or a square?

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To help avoid streaks, I'd suggest (1) pumping and priming the marker right before you use it, to make sure the paint is flowing well. (2) Painting in the area slowly to make sure the paint deposits evenly. (3) If you do get streaks, applying a second layer often smooths it out. (4) If streaks continue, remove the nib and clean it under running water, in case it's clogged from dried paint. (5) If streaks still continue, the paint marker might be getting low on paint, in which case you can try to refill it or buy a new marker. Hope this helps and good luck! 😃

    Can you use Gesso in your coloring books, such as yours? Great video. (LW)

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually haven't tried trying gessoing any of my coloring book pages, but you could give it a go and see what happens! (And if you do, let me know how it turns out!) 😃 I've used Poscas with 1-MR nibs on my coloring book pages (to color the entire page) and the paper held up surprisingly well. Got a bit buckled from the paint, but not too bad. 😊

    Do you know if need to gesso for canvas panels?

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most canvas panels are pre-primed, so whether you add a coat of gesso is a matter of personal preference. I find that if I don't gesso the canvas panel, the paint markers tend to look a bit more "watery" than they do if I paint a coat of gesso on it first. So I do prefer to gesso canvas panels before painting on them with paint markers, so the colors look more opaque and vibrant. Hope this helps! 😊

    • @Antisympathy
      @Antisympathy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thaneeya I don’t want to invest in gesso but I want to use paint markers on all of my blank canvas panels I’ve had sitting in storage for years now. 😓 do they peel after drying from the “watery” form? Do you know how long the paint markers last on canvas panels? Is it better to spray varnish/ brush varnish or leave it bare when finished?

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you should give it a try (without gesso) and see how it goes. 😊 You might like how it looks! No, the paint shouldn't peel off. Posca doesn't publish information about lightfastness, so I don't know how long the colors are supposed to last. I would recommend using a spray varnish. I've heard that the brush-on varnish can smear the Posca paint, so I've never tried it. Some people spray on a few coats of varnish (letting each layer dry before spraying another layer), and that enables them to successfully apply a brush-on varnish without the Posca smearing. Depending on your preference, that might be overkill, but it's something to keep in mind.
