- We went to the opening day of Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year festival 2023. Over the course of the day we tried all the new food at the booths, took in the entertainment including Mulan’s processional, and even saw the debut of Ortensia The Cat and more! That parade was probably one of the best I've seen from Disney. The costumes were gorgeous especially the ones resembling flowers. Wish Mulan was around more in the parks
I just wish they had included all the Disney rabbit characters in the parade

The red envelopes are for married couples giving money to kids on lunar new year. The lazy Susan snack tray is probably for the traditional snacks of candied lotus, candied wintermelon, roasted seeds, etc etc 😊

looks like you both are more of an attraction at Disney when you are there than the actual park 😂😉🤣 Joking aside I can empathize with some folks who don't come and say hello as they don't want to intrude on your day and filming which is understandable! ( IF i ever get over to the states and visit Disney and you see a MAD Englishman running up to you both it will be me! 🤣 I don't have any filters so I would be like OMG OMG it's Kitra and Peter lol) 🤣thank you so much for giving us this insight into the Chinese / Taiwanese new year in the theme parks! TBH here in the UK it's not celebrated much nationally (apart from in the Asian community) and this time of year most theme parks in the UK are closed for the winter season for them to do maintenance or get new attractions up and built for the summer season! I ALSO LOVE how in the parade they have Asian cast members for the new year and not just any old cast member be they white, black, etc. Disney has tailored the parade to the theme ...now some would call that positive discrimination BUT I don't everything is so woke these days, in their normal parades (well the ones I have seen on YT) there is a good mix of creeds and color BUT I do have to say I don't see many Asians as in Chinese or Asian that often! but maybe that's just some of the channels iv been viewing! BUT full marks to Disney for doing the Chinese new year parade with an Asian cast as it is primarily their new year!

It was ok! I was really wanting to love it but there was like this weird salt stuff in top and the coffee itself was super bitter. Maybe I just got a bad batch of it

Omg, I really want one of those calligraphies (it’s for free?!)!!! And out of all the food, the one that I’d most likely get is the egg roll and the iced coffee (I know that kitra didn’t like it, but the combination of coconut, matcha and lavender is just a win for me)~

@@OrdinaryAdventures lmao, it fine, my friends ask me every year to go to that part where lunar celebration is, as I'm good at explaining all of it, telling them about their Chinese zodiacs and what's lucky, showing them around ...as, my family is Asian so it's basic thing to say for me,"All the foods are lucky for year of the rabbit." This year is special is the water 🐇 same as Mulan so most them was her favorite foods, I think Disney would know. Can't wait, I go next weekend. The little decorated envelopes are called angpao and it’s Chinese tradition to gift money in these envelopes as good luck for the new year (and for other occasions like birthday’s, Christmas, etc.) 🙂

We have! If you search “ordinary adventures luner” on our channel you should find the other 2 videos. I’m not sure if they celebrate it in Walt Disney world but I know they celebrate at other Disney parks around the world
