I feel like sometimes Disney is afraid to go this far with theming at resorts, like they think adults want something subtle with just touches of Disney. I want over the top theming or immersion haha
The reality is we get subtle at normal hotels we stay in, when we go to Disney, we want Disney theming! That's the point, and they seemed to have missed that lately... We want all the Disney touches!@@OrdinaryAdventures
Yes, HOWEVER I also think it would be pretty hard to mess up the theme. We're all kids at one point, so channeling those memories into the flow and feel of a space is easier to tap into than say Star Wars, which we only have X amount of material to refer to. Not saying you're wrong, but just on a scale I'd rank this "hard to mess up".
That luggage shipping service isn't just at Disney, it's all over Japan, just ask at the front desk of pretty much any hotel. There is a charge (I'm assuming Disney didn't charge between their own hotels), but it is 100% worth it. And I'm pretty sure they're using some kind of magic, Floo-powder network, because your luggage is always just waiting there at your next hotel as soon as you arrive.
Yes, it's called a private company called Yamato Transport. They can even take your luggage to and/or from the airport. Look for the logo of a mama cat carrying her baby in her mouth.

Your entire Japan series is AMAZING. I eagerly await each episode. I will be a little sad when this not so ordinary adventure is over. Regarding the Tokyo parks, the OLC and Imagineering hit it out of the park on everything they do. While Disneyland has a special place in my heart (So Cal kid), these parks look spectacular. First Class all around.
The Toy Story Hotel is AMAZING!!! It’s one of the newer hotels of the Tokyo Disney resort. It’s good to see that it’s an easy monorail ride to get to it. We've only stayed at the good neighbor hotels (twice at the Hilton & once at the Sheraton) & had awesome experiences at both! In regards to the weird or interesting buffet food, you have to remember that it's catered more to Japanese tastes. The western dishes are approximations of what they think westerners would like. Also, Asian cultures are big on textures as well as tastes, which explains the amount of things with corn or boba or jelly in drinks. Btw, i know you don't like seafood, but if there's anywhere to try it, do it in Japan! You might surprise yourself. 😁

I’m so here for the theming in this hotel! Everything looked so awesome. The room was cool with the TV as an etch a sketch. You really feel immersed in the movie and your inner child can come out ! This hotel feels like an immersive experience. Great variety on the buffet, and a great way to try new to you items. I remember when jello mold desserts were at every party I went to as a kid and some were actually tasty. The two chips you got were cute, but how tempting was it to try to collect all of the mystery boxes?

That was some excellent commentary. Our favorite Japanese Character by far is the Hello Kitty because of its fiftieth (50th) anniversary! We collect lots of Hello Kitty watches and plush dolls. Our shorts contain lots of Hello Kitty watches with flashing lights. Do you folks like Hello Kitty?
Those Pooh and Mickey treats at 30:45 were cheese. Yum! My go-to at Japanese conbini are the onigiri you see in the triangular shapes at 30:25. So many varieties to choose from with fish, fried chicken, tuna, so many!
Next time Brandon and I go to Japan we would love to stay in this hotel! So beautiful and fun! We stayed at the Celebration Hotel and it was also pretty good! ❤

Haven't finished watching, but I'm at the part where you are going over the food. I can tell you aren't familiar with Japanese comfort food. No worries! The chicken pilaf with the eggs is actually omurice. A dish that kids usually make themselves, it's ketchup fried rice and then you cover it with the eggs. Popmart figures! The Disney Popmart figures are actually difficult to get in the US because of licensing. Don't fall into the designer vinyl toy rabbit hole 😂Too bad you didn't get a Dale, but the 2 Chips you got are cute!

The luggage transfer service on property is a nice perk! Works on Disney & the official hotels and my bags are usually there before me! I like to do a split stay between the Sheraton or Hilton and then one of the Disney hotels. I can use/earn points and use the club lounge with my status to save money. You can see Disneyland & DisneySea from the Sheraton lounge! Plus, the rooms tend to be bigger than many Japanese hotels.

I'll never get over how much fun the toy story hotel looks. Kid me (and adult me lets be real) would be so excited to go there lol. Lite Brite was also one of my favorite toys growing up. I even have a little glass jar filled with the little light pegs that you use. Also, what Peter thought was battleship were actually just little trays with pegs that you make shapes on using rubber bands. (what the huge Saturn on the ceiling was made of) We used those all the time in elementary school. I also would've had too much fun looking at all the cute stuff in the convenience store lol.

The only thing I didn’t like was the bed was too firm for my tastes but I think that’s everywhere in Japan

Haven't finished watching, but I'm at the part where you are going over the food. I can tell you aren't familiar with Japanese comfort food. No worries! The chicken pilaf with the eggs is actually omurice. A dish that kids usually make themselves, it's ketchup fried rice and then you cover it with the eggs.
Popmart figures! The Disney Popmart figures are actually difficult to get in the US because of licensing. Don't fall into the designer vinyl toy rabbit hole 😂Too bad you didn't get a Dale, but the 2 Chips you got are cute!

Lite Bright was my favorite toy as a kid!!! I got my son one when he was 7 and he loved it as well. So many great memories!

The theming of Toy Story is amazing but if happy entry to Disney sea is something you want you should know that hotel doesn’t have it
apparently in japan it’s a custom to bring souvenirs for your coworkers from your vacation, so i bet those cute lil tins are made with that custom in mind! personally i could never haha 💕 great video, i can’t wait to go TDL someday!

The luggage transfer service on property is a nice perk! Works on Disney & the official hotels and my bags are usually there before me! I like to do a split stay between the Sheraton or Hilton and then one of the Disney hotels. I can use/earn points and use the club lounge with my status to save money. You can see Disneyland & DisneySea from the Sheraton lounge! Plus, the rooms tend to be bigger than many Japanese hotels.

Yes we film in 4k and we use the Sony Zv-e1 most of the time

It’s cool to stay at any Disney hotel , but once you’re in the Sheraton breakfast buffet oh boy oh boy Disney can keep their 15min happy entry im going for the food. Sheraton it’s cheap , rooms are bigger twin queen beds , more adult oriented yes . Happy birthday in advance Peter from New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤️

I'll never get over how much fun the toy story hotel looks. Kid me (and adult me lets be real) would be so excited to go there lol. Lite Brite was also one of my favorite toys growing up. I even have a little glass jar filled with the little light pegs that you use. Also, what Peter thought was battleship were actually just little trays with pegs that you make shapes on using rubber bands. (what the huge Saturn on the ceiling was made of) We used those all the time in elementary school. I also would've had too much fun looking at all the cute stuff in the convenience store lol.
