- Today we will be visiting the Disneyland Resort to check out Lunar New Year 2023. Today's foodie adventure will take us to the Lunar New Year festival in Disney California Adventure. We will be trying all the new foods of this year. I hope you are hungry cause there are many new foods to try!

The Sip and Savor pass comes with six tabs that can be redeemed for food and nonalcoholic beverages at booths and select locations around the park. You can also choose to just buy the food items à la carte. I would say the Sip and Savor pass is a better value. The price for one is $42 for Magic Key holders and $45 for guests. Thank you guys for watching!
The pass is definitely a better value if you use it properly. First, be sure there are six items you want to try. Then make sure the items cost more than the price point per tab ($7.00 for Key Holders or $7.50 for guests). None of the drinks you can buy with the tabs are above that point so you shouldn’t use the tabs for the drinks. The drinks are how Disney recoups the savings on the food items.

I like that CA Adventure celebrates the racial diversity in this state with Chinese New Year and Day of the Dead etc. I’m Japanese, German, Russian and Chinese and whenever I go to CA Adventure I always feel like those ethnicities are celebrated

My favorite thing about these passes, is when I have any left over tickets & I am leaving the park, I pick a really enthusiastic couple on their way in to the park to pixie dust / gift my extras to. Sometimes my mom and I can’t manage to finish all of our tickets before we head home, it’s always nice to make someone’s evening ❤️ isn’t that what Disney is about after all ? Most Chinese bakeries carry egg tarts! A more known bakery called 85 degrees sometimes has egg tarts and there’s a lot of locations :)
Yup, and if they live down there in the greater LA area they should really have no problem find Chinese bakeries. Every week my wife goes to the farmers market she gets 85°C buns because there's a location across the street.

Oh my gosh. I am so happy and grateful to you guys for sharing your experience and opinions on the foods at DCA Lunar New Year celebration. I an going in early February, and the sip and savor card will be great for me, since the serving sizes are smaller, from what I heard. There are so many I want to try. Some of them might be sold out, but I will enjoy my time there, and there are plenty of food options! 😄

Egg tarts are the same ingredients pretty much as creme brulle. 85 Degrees has excellent ones. It's a Taiwanese bakery , they are in Multiple states. Worth a try.

I really wish I had a magic portal to Disneyland! I'm so mad I won't be there for this festival- everything looks so yummy! Too bad about that cake- it looks good, but I probably wouldn't like it either if it's not very sweet.

I love that you guys tried the dan tat (egg tart). We had the matcha and yuzu ones and they were amazing (the yuzu was the best one). The egg roll was also our favorite at lunar new year. And we loved running into you at Super Nintendo World this week (we were the ones who drove down from San Francisco). Def was one of the highlights of our trip!

I've only been to Lunar New Year at DCA once but I would love to go again. I didn't get to try a lot of food. I only tried the Mickey Hot Dog Bun and it was really good. I would love to go the celebration again but sadly I can't because I already have a trip planned for March for the Disney100 celebration. I totally forgot that DCA is going to be transformed into San Fransokyo pretty soon and I can't wait. It's going to be awesome!! 😊🤩💕

Thanks for another awesome video! So great to see the celebration of the Lunar New Year!!! If you want more egg tarts, try a bakery in Chinatown near you. The egg tart you guys ate seems more like a Portuguese egg tart with a creme brûlée top and Chinatown would also sell that. ❤

I'm here working in the parks this week from Disney World and I think I saw you all filming! Since I'm an engineer at Disney people are always asking for Disney content but I haven't gotten to it yet. I decided to start with the Sip and Savor pass and while doing research, lo and behold you all popped up first! Just wanted to say yall make awesome videos!
I have a theory! I think Disney went all out with the foods this year so that they could crowd source and figure out what to keep around when they change the wharf to San Fransokyo! Maybe they’re considering getting rid of the quesabirria tacos and replacing them with egg rolls?

Many Chinese bakeries sell the original egg tarts at a fraction of the cost (like at least half the price at DCA). The ones that are caramelized on top are called Macau/Portuguese style egg tarts. There are non-caramelized ones, too, that are delicious. Somebody mentioned the 85 Degrees bakery chain, but you can also go to the bakery section of a 99 Ranch Market if you want to buy a lot of them. I love your videos because of the genuine enthusiasm or moderated enthusiasm in your reactions. 😂 Happy New Year!
