      Thanks Shep ! I'm impressed you used Kilometers being in the US 😀

      @@OrdinaryBlokeOnABike Cyclists, runners and swimmers here in the US use the metric system. For example, if I do a Sprint Triathlon, we do a 400m-500m swim, a 20-25km bike, and a 5k run. We also use the term "metric century" quite often in cycling, meaning a 62.2 mile ride. So while the metric system isn't widely used, there are people who do use it all the time. Also a lot of our tools use metric measurements. Wrenches, sockets, etc...

    I have the same bike!! Love it! I did have a problem with the front derailleur pushing the chain off on to the crank arm but the guys got that sorted. Dream bike!!

      Hi Bill, thank you for "dropping by" and subscribing ( if you have) . You can probably tell I LOVE this bike - "Dream Bike" is pretty spot on I think - Happy Cycling on yours 🚴‍♂️😁👍

    Stunning looking bike and I love the colour. Like you, I am in my twilght years and looking forward to acquiring an Infinito CV of my own, so I can ride with a huge smile on my face.

    Nice ride! You and I have done the exact same thing! I have a Bianchi Oltre XR4, but it is too much of a race frame for these old bones. Have had my 2022 Infinito with Ultegra Di2 now for about 2 weeks and it is such a smooth comfortable ride. Hope you enjoy and congrats!

      It’s not until you ride the new one you realise how the racier bikes are constructed for their purpose. Needless to say I think you made a brilliant choice ! 😁🚴

    Excellent choice. Should make hilly rides easier. Needs good insurance cover. A few bikes have gone missing in Northamptonshire!

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I’m looking into Insurance - so many of them make it so difficult with their conditions- In my garage I don’t lock my bike and certainly will struggle with the “immovable object” they insist it is locked to !

      Well Carl you clearly have great taste and it's pretty obvious how much I like mine but did you go the full hog and start buying accessories just because of the colour ??

      @@OrdinaryBlokeOnABike I didn't no lol, although I have just bought a new Infinito exactly the same as yours so there is a chance of a new Bianchi kit in the future.

    Lovely bike in a lovely colour! I had the previous model Infinito, swapped it for an Oltre last year (both Celeste). I have two other Bianchis, a Super Pista track bike, which is black with Celeste decals and an 1885 in Liquigas colours and that really is Marmite as it is bright green (think Kermit), bright yellow and Celeste! (subscibed)

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike

      Clearly you are "bianchified" - I just looked up the 1885 and I love the colour scheme 😀

    She is a beauty!! I just got my Bianchi infinito today. I upgraded a lot of parts on it, rims, handle bar and stem

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine Paul. Of course I'm quite pathetic really as I wouldn't change the rims because they have colour matched flashes on them 🤣

    Hey Bill, have you thought of taking the train, anywhere, with your bike? I did, recently. Restricted to two bikes. I think this needs to change.

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Too right , I had planned to take the bike on the train with me to Penzance when we did LEJOG last year and was anxious that we might not get them booked on with the 2 bike limit but luckily Pedalbritain offered a free transit of the bike to Lands End if you drop it off to them so didn’t test the system

    I just watched your video because I’m thinking of getting the same bike but with Shimano 105, without electronic shifting. I love my gadgets too, I charge my watch, phone, and car.
    What do you think of the bike all these months later? Any advice you can offer?
    Thanks,
    Steve in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada.

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steve. I needed a more comfortable bike that absorbed poor road surfaces better and the Infinito is that. It is assisted by the addition of "counterveil" to the carbon. it looks like if you don't have Di2 shifting you also don't get the counterveil and I don't really know how different the same bike feels without it. i just know it was noticeably more comfy than my old road bike for sure. I love the bike in every way, even the colour !
      I'm sorry to say I'm an avid Habs fan but I'm sure you'll forgive me that 🤣

    • @steveseg
      @steveseg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the information about counterveil, I’ll look into that. I bleed red too, I’m originally from Montreal!

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  ปีที่แล้ว

      GHG !! My brother has lived there over 40 years and after some early visits when I went to a couple of games and got hooked. As you'll know, in Montreal there is blanket coverage but because I have to actively seek out information I'm often telling him about injuries or potential trade rumours before he's found out !!

    Hi Bill, out of interest, have you ever found mudguards/fenders that will fit the Bianchi? I have the same bike but struggling to find a pair..

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Liam, I don’t use the Bianchi in the winter so have never looked for any. For my bike I use in winter I use SKS Raceblade pro because they don’t need any fixing points on a bike and are simple to take on and off 👍

    What size and how tall are you ?

    • @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike
      @OrdinaryBlokeOnABike  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm 5ft 8 inches and online charts would say I should ride a size 54 but its not that simple. My legs are shorter than others who are the same height and the bike shop said I came up as Size 52.5 which doesn't exist but Bianchi have a size 53 which has proved ideal

    The colour is indeed meh. Not the main colour but the overall graphics. Compared to the old version which was a beauty. But I am sure it is a great bike,so don't listen to me.

      I know what you mean. The classic celeste with the bold black lettering was iconic but this grows on me to be honest and I LOVE the 2 tone now 😁
