    Glad to see you turned over a new leaf. I've only watched 1 other video of yours and it had me quite upset. Not everyone has 4-10,000 dollars to spend for a bike. I got my wife and I a pair of e-bikes for $3,200 for both. That enabled us to be able to get out and get some exercise and fresh air. We are in our 60's and the electric assist of an e-bike is the only way we could get out and enjoy biking again. And even with our limited income, this was doable. This video was very informative and enjoyable to watch. I have liked and subscribed. Thank you. 🙂👍👌

    Good Video Josh, quite informative for people that are just looking for a cheap ebike, but as I bike mechanic I want to share the caveats of owning these almost disposable bikes: 1-Weight, these things are heavy and for some reason marketed for elderly people telling that the big tires offer stability but in reality are not easy to handle at all, and come with sub optimal brakes for the weight and speed of the bike. 2-Lack of spare parts, your LBS will be hard pressed to find some of those tire sizes, wheels, hubs, forks etc so when the axle breaks or the hub motor fails be ready for a trip to the landfill, and don't get me started with the electronics as none of these bikes share a common controller unit/battery/motor. 3-lets be real about the cost, a "cheap" 2K bike that may last you one year of 2 is not really cheaper than a Towny e-bike like the Specialized Vado, or a Cannondale Adventure neo that cost 4k but will last you longer and have factory support.

    Confused why you would kick them over or even how they could be worthless? A regular bike isn’t but an e-bike is?

    If you really know about the bikes you talk about, you'd know that you can easily bypass the speed limit on the Jansno X50. It will max out at 30mph. I just bought one and found this out with about two minutes of research.

    Hey, maybe you can start giving them e-bike away since you have so much, I, myself really have hard time to save up for one. Trying to get one for commuting to work.

      When people are given things for free ( however technically not because you're doing the company's advertising) you become too cool for school... If handed steak everyday for free suddenly the steak isn't good enough you should hand me $1,000 with the steak. Entitlement 101.

    I needed a CARGO e-mtb for hunting. I found the E-CELLS Super Monarch Crown ad the best bike for my purposes. TWO wheel drive, dual suspension and two batteries. Plus many features and quality components. All for (currently) $5,100. with free shipping in the continental USA. This bike hs a pleasure to ride on or off road.

    Actually, I would say that the BFIsport is by far the most versatile of all the bikes in this video.
    Though I'm not a fan of 3x (not 2x as was said in the video) drivetrains, in this particular case, it's good to have that kind of range - with that kind of low gearing - for when the battery runs out in the middle of a purposeful ride, like, say, the grocery run; at least you can get home under your own power.
    Also, the "controller in a bag" setup allows you to strip the bike of all electric components, swap the hub motor rear wheel for a regular one, and turn it into a regular fat bike - if you're so inclined, that is.
    Which leads me to the third point: imagine how easy it would be to modify this thing!

      @Yeet42069 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The only bike that needs front gears as well as back gears is a mountain bike and that is only if you are using it for the purpose it was made for. And even in that case the only advantage is that you can make the choice of shifting between a big gear or a small gear instead of shifting 2-3 times making it faster and more useful during an offroad experience. 7 gears is enough for most normal bicycle's and landscapes, and more than enough for an ebike who has access to out of the ass power.
      If you find your range lacking due to running out and having to peddle something heavy, you're much better off buying an extra battery than going through the cost of changing the drivetrain for something stupid that is still as impractical as it normally would be due to the roll resistance of your tires.

    One of the MAJOR reason for owning an e-bike is disability or partial disability. If you have dodgy joints, heart problems, or have other medical reasons for having difficulty with a "normal" bike, then e-bikes can go a long way towards getting you (back) on a bike. This is great for health, and fun. I know "real" cyclists like to look down on e-bikes as "cheating", but for some of us that's the only way we can enjoy cycling again.

      Not really I have 2 fat tire philodo h8 bikes with fat tires and they are better on the road then any other bikes I have. Don't knock fat tire bikes till you try one there freaking awesome to ride and very safe on gravel grass and concrete.

      By europes laws, e-bikes cannot exceed 25 km/h, and you have to be pedaling for the motor to push. If the motor pushes you without you pedaling it’s considered a motor bike

    Keep away from these big tyre ebikes. Instead, go for a bike with something like 20 inch,
    2.3 - 3 inch tyres. Weight should be 30 kg, (or less). For a decent ebike, you would need to
    pay upwards of $1,000. Just remember, you get what you pay for !

      Hub motor.
      Mid-drives put Alot of strain on both the chain and derailleur.
      That translates into more maintenance and repairs.

    if you do some serious riding a bike from an actual bike company will be hugely better. less risk of it turning into a fire. also much better quality, will last you years to come. brands like Specialized, haibike, trek, canyon, cube come to mind.

    I own an Ecotric's bison, This bike is a monster. It goes through most anything and has an awesome suspension to go with the power. The huge tires hum on the street and it's hard not to feel pretty cool when riding it. Love it.

    OK, you may not like the cheaper ebikes- but lots of us cant afford the expensive brand name stuff- seeing these brand new ebikes being kicked over is really dissapointing. I don't care how cheap of something I may have I still take care of it and would never just kick it over like trash.

  • @ScrapKing73
    @ScrapKing73 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    7 speeds is all you need on an e-bike? You assert this but then don’t back it up. I don’t understand that thinking. 7-speed shifting is of very poor shift quality. If ups actually want to pedal and stay fit, you might aspire for more.

      @@llegedly I suppose it depends on where you live, and how you ride. It's quite hilly where I live, so very few people opt for single speed bikes here. For me, I like to keep my cadence in a very particular zone (90-105 RPM) so single speed is a "hell no" for me.
