I'm pretty sure there is no bug or glitch when your trying to do the export midi. If you notice, the same notes were still selected when you tried to grab another instrument. Clicking on the the SOLO button doesn't select the notes, you have to click on the instrument name and then click 'Export Midi" and it will grab the new notes. When you changed track and came back, you clicked on the track name and it worked, but the first time, you just clicked on Solo and it didn't work.
The workaround for the click and drag workflow to avoid having to go back to the first track and then to the next; just explode the track. Then you can go to each sound and drag it over without going backwards again.
What if we have different sequences where the kick pattern is different in sequence 1 than it is in sequence 2? Is there a way to bounce out all the sequences and their data/patterns etc. or would we just rinse repeat through each sequence the same way you did with your one and only sequence in this tutorial?
I also have been playing around with different approaches... another way would be to actually root the output channels of the mpc plugin to individual input channels in your DAW and record while playing back... got this idea from the time I had a NI Maschine.
For some reason my tracks are not all exporting correctly. Only getting 2 of the 4 tracks. Thanks for an awesome idea and hopefully I can figure out why my stems are not exporting properly. Edit: It was due to pad mutes somehow I turned on at some point. All stems exported now. Cheers!
This was a great video, nice and clear - though I seem to have hit a snag with a six minute, single sequence arrangement I've made using the 'mute tracks' function, and was wondering if you'd come across anything like it before? In essence, I pre-exploded the drum tracks so I could 'perform' the arrangement whilst recording. Now when I try and export the stems for use in my DAW, I get completely EMPTY audio files for each drum element! 😳 This only seems to affect the drum tracks, and not the other instruments, which pick up the mute on/off events no problem...
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE that's very kind of you - I think I've worked it out... It seemed to be when I had processed (in this case normalised) the sounds after they had been exploded... I created a new drum program (per exploded channel, I'm sure one single new drum program would also work) and reassigned the normalised samples and lo and behold... exporting as an Ableton file or audio stem worked perfectly... An odd glitch clearly, and that would appear to be a good workaround if it happens to anyone else :)
When we use this method to bounce out stems, does the automation data remain? I like to pan my hi hats and do other automation within my MPC X before bouncing. If it does NOT keep the automation, is there a way for us to bounce out the stems and actually have the automation still present in those stems? If not, then I probably shouldn't even bother with panning and automating things like volume faders, panning etc. anymore on my MPC X. Thanks!
I recently switched over to Mac M2 Ventura but can’t open MPC software AU nor VST inside S1 6.5 from instrument list in browser. Works fine in Logic but not S1. Do you know why that might be? Thank you for all the great MPC content very helpful.
Hi Magnetic, This AU / VST problem has nothing to do with the MPC Software it's a Studio One 6 (from 6.1 to 6.5 included) issue. AU & VST MPC Software works like a charm in Ableton, Cubase & Logic. I addressed this issue to Presonus customer support but they didn't care at all telling me to wait for the next update and to contact AKAI/InMusic.
Why the heck isn't this page Linked to the Songmode export Page .... Pages are identical and do the same thing ... Thank you for the Video . The only one I found useful and Up to date in terms of Exploding and exporting tracks
I was looking for a way to export the tracks and tried song mode export. However even though I had exploded the drum program into separate tracks the song mode only lets you export the programs so the drum parts were all back in one stem again. I appreciate that there are so many different ways to do things in MPC world but some consistency would be nice. Anyway… Menu and Save as Audio Mixdown worked great. Thank you 😊
Can you Make a Tutorial on how to Sample a sound from a 3 Party plug in Via PC/Mac example a Lead, Bass , Piano and Key group the sound so you use it in standalone mode sample a Live Church organ etc, key group ... and play it on a Midi Controller etc
What about exporting midi? It seems you have to close the project and only open the program in the plugin because you can’t switch the MPC plugin to only run from the exported midi in your daw.
Love your videos they are really great. I have a mpc x and also a thunderbolt interface. From what I can understand there is no way to connect these apart from agregation on mac and asio4all on windows, This option doesn't appeal as I have the thunderbolt for low latency when working in my Daw( Studio one) Is it possible to connect my peripherals Drums, Keyboard, Mics x 2, Guitar, Bass into the mpc and then output into my quantum interface when I wish to work directly into my daw? and thereby taking advantage of the low latency of my thunderbolt interface Thanks again for the great video content, Really appreciate it.
Hello@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE. No I havent spent anymore time with the MpcX. My thinking was to plug my various inputs into the mpc Guitar, Mic, Keyboard, Drums, And then connect my outputs to the interface .(For the times that I wanted to use the DAW. Do you think this is a logical way of going about it.?
Why is the volume so low with it going into the daw from exporting from all of the helpful methods you’ve demonstrated?? Everything is at 0 ..it sounds strong in the mpc but once it’s exported to the daw it’s very low and weak
Im pretty sure it is by passing the maximizer on the master, but I like the headroom on the files so I have room to mix. can always select all the clips and increase the gain.
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE ..makes since! Now that I’ve gotten the ultimate 11 bundle an Apollo 6 rack mount and a octo satellite things have changed whereas the head room makes since now! I’ve made the most of the sales and tutorials!
Thank you so much for your informative videos. My question may sound naive, but why would you open the MPC as a VST, when all of your tracks had already been imported into your Studio One DAW? Why not just go from there in Studio One?
I thought the same thing...but what I think you saw was a demonstration of 2 methods. He just doesn't mention that he's in a new instance of Studio One with the MPC Vst ..
Thanks. I'd like to use MPC One in standalone mode but record channels in DAW. Is it possible to stream audio from MPC One to PC over USB (each channel) ?
How do I transfer splice kits and samples from a used mpc that I bought, into my laptop so that I can drag and drop them in my daw?I have mpc expansions that also came with it that I want to move to my pc. Thank you.
What if you want to edit the notes in your daw from the track in the mpc...how do you get the midi notes to play the mpc sample in your daw? or do you just do all the editing of the beat in mpc and then the only option is exporting as a audio file? also is exporting in a audio file better for the sound quality? is that why?
Paris this is the exact question I have. Thanks for asking and I'll be sure not to be redundant but knowing this will be perfect. I already intentional about putting every sound on an individual track so to explode to track isn't my interest. My songs are already arranged but just like you said, I need this in the DAW. C.E.I would explain it clearly and I need this in my life like YESTERDAY
Great vid! Do you know anyway to do this in mass? I've asked AKAI and heard crickets unfortunately. Like a lot of us, I have hundreds of song ideas I've created in standalone mode that I want to bring into Logic. I can explode each song individually in the two ways that you show, but it would save me hours (days?) if I could just export all stems in a given folder.
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE much appreciated! Fwiw I’ve spent the Christmas break transferring over two hundred songs from MPC to Logic lol. Painstakingly slow to stem them all out but one thing that sped up my workflow: rather than using song mode to arrange a four minute track on the MPC, I only exported my initial loop. This made the export way quicker, but it’s still a really repetitive process that I wish Akai would automate
Hi, i have some blank gaps before my first kick and all other samples when i render the track, but on mpc is everything on grid.(i see in daw that snare is not on grid).Any tips how to solve that?tnx😊
I actually found it to be a bad idea to delete the muted drum track that goes clicky clacky. I found it to be audio that is missing from your individual drum tracks. Its that initial attack and snap of your kicks hihats and snares etc. sounds better to leave it in there to get much harder hitting drums. But the volume of it needs to be turned down to match the rest of the drum tracks. If i delete that clicky clacky drum track my drums become dull as fukk
Awesome suggestion, great idea to keep it in as extra transients to really add the smack to everything. I also experimented a couple times with adding some delay and reverb to it and using it as a texture in the background, sometimes it can sound pretty cool to
YES. I always explode the drums to new channels before I start to sequence in the MPC. When you have a scene, it will remember the Mute state of a track, but not the pad. So, when you explode the drums to there own tracks, you can mute them in different scenes and the MPC will remember what tracks are muted when you switch between scenes. I have a video coming soon that shows song mode and doing this during sequencing.
