    If you want to loop the exported tracks perfectly in your DAW, you need to set the audio tail to 0 in the export Dialog.

      @@malobeats You' re welcome! Thx for the work and effort you put in your channel. I' m having a hard time as a long term Maschine MK3 user that went standalone with a fully murdered out MPC 1000 about 9 months ago whether I should stick with the 1000 or get one of the newer MPCs. I tried the MPC One twice, didn' t like it at that time. Do you got any suggestions?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MakingMadBeats I know it’s different for everybody depending in their workflow but for me coming from the 2000 XL once I hopped on the MPC one it was a no-brainer everything just made sense for me and made my life so much easier and I was able to do my beats 10 times faster versus my 2000 XL, like I said it’s a personal choice but the MPC one is nearly a perfect machine at least for my workflow and what I needed to do,

    • @MakingMadBeats
      @MakingMadBeats 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@malobeats Aight, I get your point, man! Do you mix your stuff or in the One in standalone, too or is it kust some basic sound design that you are doing, e.g. filtering, levels of the single tracks? What about arranging? Do you do all of that stuff in a regular DAW?
      I found a good deal on a MPC X. 18 months old from a music gear seller with a 12 month warranty for 1050€. Here in Germany a new X costs 1800€ atm but with 3 years of warranty.

    Great video! This helped me out a lot because I like your workflow. I'm going to use it when I'm ready to import. FYI - In Ableton, under Options_Preferences_Record .Warp.Launch, turn off "Auto-Warp Long Samples" - that way you won't have to go back and turn off warp for each.

    Good video. One thing to beware of is when using multiple sequences in the song, don't re-use tracks e.g. just because seq2 doesn't have bass on it don't use that track for a different part - leave it empty. If you reuse that track the result in the stem will be the bass program playing that other part. So, be consistent in the tracks; there's plenty of them! 😀

    • @malobeats

      @@malobeats Yeah its in the manual too. So in other words, if you're using song mode, all the sequences after the first sequence should use the same programs for each track. E.g, track 1 in seq 2 and onwards should use the same program as track 1 in sequence 1.

      @@malobeats Just tried this technique with a track, pretty complex with many different parts weaved throughout and several different programs. It’s honestly pretty messy. When I converted to a new sequence it had some issues. Seems like some of the samples weren’t in the same places. Some timing issues etc. I had to export each section of the track separately and assemble in Pro Tools. Have you ever come across that?

    Good tutorial. I personally prefer to record an 8- or 16-bar section into my DAW (I use Pro Tools when producing with the MPC Live II) via my audio interface, then sequence it and mix in PT. Recording from the MPC outs into Pro Tools I think gives it a warmer sound. I haven't looked, but have you done a video on that? If not, that may be another good/helpful tutorial.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Matthew, dude it’s so funny you mention this because I was just thinking of doing the same thing the other day. I have the Apollo interface and wanted to use some tape plug-ins to record directly from my outputs through the plug-ins right into my DAW to get more of a warmer sound. I will work on smithing like this in a future video

      @@malobeats good stuff! Certainly no harm in exporting stems from the MPC. It ultimately depends on what sound the producer needs and wants. But I do recommend giving it a try! I don't know if you found the answer to exporting your tracks. So I how learned from a TH-camr is you just explode your tracks in the main screen, skip song mode, hit the folder icon, select export then als export . Once you put the tracks in Ableton put your tracks in the session view and how you do that is you go to the folder were your stems are located. instead of how your stems looks in the your folder they should have a Ableton Live icon you can drag and drop your icon in the first midi clip and the other tracks will spread out individually.In arrangement view click on your count in button press record and let it play until you see your midi notes you can stop and arrange them how you want.

    So, If you use the software version of STEMS you will loose access to SPLICE, don't know if their still trying to be involved with splice but there will be no access to splice files.
