If you’re curry and your coach matches you up with Giannis, or if your coach subs in a 6’5” high lineup against three 7 footers, or if your coach puts you in the corner all game, or if you take on the toughest defensive assignment and you coach doesn’t sub you out to rest despite the opposing star going down to rest, or if a lineup is not work and you’re hemorrhaging points yet the coach doesn’t stop the bleeding with a new plan, yeah, overcome that as a player 🤦♂️

Doc is simply a voice, and his job is to get his players to execute the plays that he designs. He's not out there on the floor so if his players are not motivated to play, thats not all entirely on him. He's coached some teams with alot of talent, but he's only been successful with the Celtics because they collectively had a winning mentality unlike the teams he's been coaching today. He was solid in Orlando too winning coach of the year and rebuilding that team, but loosing that 3-1 series lead to the Pistons pretty much buried his career as a Magic coach.

Its hilarious to see so many of Doc's former players speaking out on and being so tired of him getting another chance after they need to talk him up when he first gets the job and they on his team, not really understanding the reasons his former team let him go until they see it first hand then fail in the playoffs and become the next group of players that get tired of of him. Coaching in the NBA is part skill, part politics, part favoritism, part luck, part racism, & part timing with a sprinkling of collusion, depending heavily on the nature of each team's ownership and the degree of influence of the stars on the squad.

Nah, Marvin Lewis didn't win in Cincinnati but with how bad they were before he got there and how marketable they became during his tenure deserves acknowledgement He's more like the Barry Switzer Those Celtics teams were good because of KG getting in the team and thise Clippers teams were way more entertaining when Del Negro was coaching and Ben Simmons and Embiid were more aggressive when Brett Brown was coaching

The term I've heard recently for this is "failing upwards". Businesses put too much emphasis on experience and this leads to the same undeserving people getting opportunities while those with the actual talent getting shut out.
