Mero leaving out that their manager & producing partner Victor Lopez was asked to stay away from production because of multiple accusations of harassing women & being generally AWFUL to Showtime employees. Mero refused to abandon him while Desus knew better. Mero couches lot of that in vague language like “stay independent” & refusing to “go corporate,” but any work environment should be devoid of harassment and abuse.

Reports came out that their long time manager was doing the most and being difficult at Showtime. Desus wanted to cut bait and Mero wanted to keep him out of loyalty. Thats what I heard and it sounds much more concrete and believable than what was was said here.

Does Mero not get that saying that Desus was dying to be Hollywood by any means and then also saying that Desus shut down doing a movie with Judd Apatow doesn’t make sense? Those two sentiments literally contradict one another. I don’t take either side because that 3-4 year run of BB and the early D&M episodes was so great, but the logic track of that first bit doesn’t track, for me.

I loved Desus and Mero, especially in the pandemic. But I knew it couldn’t last. Hopefully they can work together in the future, like a once a year recap kinda thing but you could tell they were growing apart which is natural in alot of friendships.

I just don't know if you mean, he's just trying to show class and be discreet about their relationship and the end of it or he is in the wrong and what Mero is saying is true and he can't defend it. I honestly hate they broke up. Honestly I found them late and watched so many hours of vice episodes and by the time I got around to showtime it ended. The entertainment business seems so dirty. I tried being a musician and didn't even get close to being famous and the hoops you have to jump through on a beginners level is ridiculous. Everyone is out to rob you of your art.

They both signed NDAs after the Showtime show ended. The difference is that Mero and Victor were painted as the villains while Desus wasn’t. That prompted Mero to be more defensive and ultimately go against the NDA. Desus is still sticking to the terms, for the most part.
What I've learned in partnerships, you have to lay the vision down upfront and be in agreement, and you have to have the difficult conversations as soon as the situtions call for it because if you don't...things can go left and never get back on track.
