I have an Acer Nitro 5 for almost 3 years now. (Ryzen 5 3550 and RX560). One thing that gave up on me quickly was the battery, I had Acer replace it. Other than that, the laptop is still fine. Really good for the price if you ask me.

I got one of these at the same price, just different configuration with a 10300H and a 3050 instead of the 1650 which is quite substantial. It runs pretty well, came with free xbox for PC, loaded up Halo Infinite runs up to 120fps at medium settings. This has been the only time I would recommend getting a laptop over a graphics card ever.

Acer Nitro 5 (2021 chassis) key selling point is it has 3 storage options (2x nvme + 1x 2.5") while other entry level gaming laptops maxed out at 2 (usually 1x nvme + 1x 2.5"). If the 2022 chassis have the same storage options then it's instant buy. The 2022 chassis have all black base with a minor red/blue streak on the lid. The 2022 Nitro 5 b-roll is up on acer channel.

And for the red elements - I LOVE them - it does not look boring and one-colored. Can it be charged through the Thunderbolt 4?

If you’re reading this, the Acer nitro 5 is a amazing budget Gaming Laptop, I’ve used mine on very often Upgraded to 32GB Of Ram for just around 100$ as-well as getting a 2TB M.2 NVME SSD, this thing can turn into a beast, especially if you tweak some things, such as Overclocking your CPU and using NVIDIA Control panel you can make this thing nice, I get around 200FPS On GTA V, and around 65-75 FPS on Rust on Graphics setting 5, this is super pocket friendly Laptop, you can get a decent monitor for another 100-200$, I’d give this Laptop a 8/10.

I recently lost my 4yr old i5 gtx980ti desktop in the Australian floods . It was used mainly for 1080p gaming and photo editing . To replace it I am looking at around , at the very least ,$2000 aussie dollars ( + keyboard and mouse ).
    I can get a nitro 5 , i5 11400 rtx3050 for around half that price or an i7 11800 rtx3050 version for $1200.
Fifty bucks for an extra ram stick , and a separate monitor and keyboard when I can afford it and I will have a superior allround setup to my destroyed system for around half the price.
I have to say I am very tempted.

Thanks for the video. I have the same Laptop with i7 11800H and RTX3060 and I like it. It performs good. Also, Acer Nitro is on par with Asus TUF series, therefore the term "budget" gaming should not imply bad quality I my opinion (Asus's marketing is much better, therefore I think that's why Acer Nitro might be considered a little lower in quality than TUF series).

I got a acer nitro 5 with a rtx 3050 mobile I think the graphics cards are pretty much the same but I'm just struggling to understand why the performance of this one is so bad compared to mine? I have a 11400h i5 processor upgraded the ram. Did you put it into performance mode in nitro sense or is this just worse? I get 150+ on halo and 300 on rocket league

I'm confused between this one 2022 model with 10th gen processor and the asus zenbook 14 2019 model with i5 8th gen. Price is about the same so is the ram and hard. I'll use it just for normal day stuff no games at all. Please tell me which one would you prefer I'll really appreciate it

I have 2018 model currently (I believe) and this was and still is my first and current laptop. I don't care too much about specs or frames so I really enjoy it. That said, their not amazing but good enough for me to have fun. 8/10

I bought a Nitro 5 in September 2020 and upgraded the storage and RAM. Decent laptop and I invested into a laptop cooling fan stand. Not as fancy as it’s little brothers like the one you reviewed but it suits my needs

Yeah, it’s no one’s top choice laptop, but it does do very well for budget gaming. Like the little engine that could.
I got stuck with the Ryzen 5 rx 560x model a couple years ago, when I was looking for Amy first gaming laptop and my mom saw this in open box and thought it’d be fun to rub in my face that she got one first.
She’s an Apple user. That decision lasted all of two weeks. I took pity and bought it off of her, but was disappointed I didn’t get GeForce.
Two years, almost three years later, every time I think I’m at my limit with it, I shove some new upgrade through, and bam it works like new.
First time? Shoved 32 gigs of RAM into it. Ran like magic. Second time? Turned up the power options. Third? Run the fans at max.
Final time was recent, I realized finally how to update the graphic card, and it runs like magic again, running Back 4 Blood and other new titles on low- medium.
But I’m finally kind of done, and I’m upgrading to a desktop in a short while. Not going to have top of the line GPU but everything else inside it will be awesome.
Still, if there ever was a computer to surprise me, it was the Nitro 5. The little engine that could.

The specs you mentioned in this vid; 11th gen Core i5, RTX 1650 GPU, and 8GB of RAM for $780, they give me some degree of pause because I'm looking on Newegg at the same laptop, but they're listing a 10th Gen i5, an RTX 3050, and 16GB of RAM for about $830. Do those new specs warrant the extra $50-ish in price?

Just got one with an i7 (with 16 gb memory + 1tb HD, which I will upgrade) for $899 on prime day. I say I am happy for with this purchase for a gaming "laptop". I travel a lot and quick 3D graphics for work on the spot when I am needed on location. It works. I would not make this my main machine for 24/7 3D modeling and rendering. But it is good enough to communicate ideas when I am with clients and travel gaming.

Looks good. I already have a pc that I built back in 2019 (thank god before the pandemic, but even then, the crypto craze still had the prices up) I really just want a laptop for on the go productivity like photoshop and FL studio and some gaming when I’m at friends houses. I plan on connecting to a TV and running external speakers or headphones so I’m literally only using it as a power source lol

Specs of my PC if anyone is wondering
      GTX 1660 Super OC
      I5 9600k
      16gb ram
      500 gb nvme m.2 ssd
      Corsair PSU
      Corsair fans
      Gigabyte mobo
Runs like a champ even since 2019, so don’t get caught up in the hype of “ oh I need a RTX3080 to game” I can run any game perfectly fine, no issues. Computer is still fast after years of daily use

    • @TechSpaceCowboy

I haven’t done any of that on this. The biggest hindrance for video editing would be the screen. It’s okay but not amazing for color correction. Also kinda dim.
Besides that this wouldn’t be bad. Hard to say because I have a Mac workflow for my videos
