Seeing someone else experience the MCU for the first time truly brings me back to the old days and makes me nostalgic about the good times we had with the start of the franchise
The Billy Madison quote killed me. hahahaha. Btw, I love that I get to watch these kind of as like a little recap and see Sam's genuine reaction. That "watching it for the first time" feel that we'll never get again.
Fun fact: The kid with the toy Iron Man helmet is supposed to be a young Peter Parker. Initially, it wasn't that, but someone made a fan theory saying that, and Kevin Feige(the head of Marvel Studios) liked it so much that they decided to make it canon
One thing to note with each appearance of Tony Stark/Iron Man is each suit he makes is an improvement of the last. For example, the brief case suit here is sensitive to electricity, which is later something Tony uses to cool effect in Avengers against a future team member. And his iterative improvements carry all the way through End Game
@@edboymovies The MCU must have made a choice about this. It’s never ever mentioned or discussed. And yet you’re so right: every film he’s in has upgrades he’s needed in previous action. Commented about this elsewhere in this vid, but the element Tony “creates” (recreates?) is the element found in the tesseract… I thiiink? Which is why Loki’s staff doesn’t work, and how he manages to last so long against other stones. I don’t think Sam is going back through comments so I doubt this is spoilerific. Do you understand Tony’s discovery of the element the same way? Feels like I have to infer all that (since it’s never discussed). Even though it also seems like exactly what’s happening. Thoughts?
@@DylanMaddYes, Tony's dad Howard Stark had got the opportunity to work with the Tesseract in the end of First Captain America movie. He discovered about the unlimited energy source which he used to make his theory model for the new element but he couldn't practically make it because of the limited technology during his time, that's why he left that for Tony as a legacy.
Every Marvel character's 2nd MCU movie comparatively bad than the first one except Captain America. Infact I think Captain America The Winter Soldier is the best Non Avengers Marvel movie ever.
Don Cheadle was the first choice for Rhodey. According to Howard, when he found out about the role, he sent his agent to Marvel and told him to do anything necessary to get it. Cheadle got back the role that should've been his from the start. Howard has made various accusations against Downey, none of which make sense. He's said that he got Downey the role. There were actually a couple people responsible for Downey's hiring, Howard being the least of them (if at all). Feige, Favreau, Maisel most of all. Howard has also given the impression that he paid Downey's insurance, but there is absolutely no record of that happening. Downey only had an insurance issue with one film, The Singing Detective , his first after prison & rehab. Every film after that, the production company would hold back 1/2 of his pay until filming wrapped, basically having him self-insure. Downey was in 10 films between 2003 & 2007, including a Disney film. Feige said that the Disney film, The Shaggy Dog, was what resolved Marvel's apprehension about hiring Downey. Howard has also said that Downey took the $ that should've been his. The first Iron Man movie made $585 million on a $140 million budget. The movie grossed more than was expected. Marvel could have paid both. Howard's contract was not mutually binding, and Marvel changed the terms after Favreau rewrote Howard's part to make it smaller. It seems that he wasn't happy (pun) with Howard's performance in IM1. If anything, Downey was caught between Favreau and Howard. It should be noted that, around the same time that he got the news about losing the Marvel role, Howard was kicked off of a Broadway production of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. He punched the piano player in the face. He has a history of assaults and difficult behavior on set and off. Marvel should not have hired him in the first place.
I don’t think you should try to rush these out. This can be a long term project that allows Sam to watch at her own pace. The worst thing would be for her to get superhero fatigue before we even get to phase 4! Lol
YESSS, agreed. I love these videos so so much, but I don’t have time to watch more than 1 or 2 a week. I’ll be watching tons as it doesn’t speed thru everything.
I think this movie was disliked because marvel was still creating the formula that is prominent in all their movies now. Going back, it really works with hindsight
whats the point of telling her that there are "stinkers"? like just in general why tell give her any preconceived notions about disliking anything? just let her experience each movie with an open mind and make her decision after, if you tell her which ones you or others may not have liked before hand it will just taint her reaction. i love her excitement and optimism
20:48 This moment when the light in the reactor comes on and Tony breathes a sigh of relief wasn’t scripted. The prop light was malfunctioning and Downey improvised the reaction.
Great reaction! Two things most MCU fans will not know about this movie. 1. The new element Tony Stark creates is a synthetic version of vibranium. Marvel studios retroactively confirm this in a MCU visual encyclopedia. 2. The little boy that Iron Man saves at the Expo wearing the Iron Man helmet was also retroactively confirm to be Peter Parker. This is later allude to in the third Captain America movie.
Don't worry about the TV shows right now, you still have a ton of movies to watch and personally I think the reason Iron Man 2 works better rewatching it and out of context of a film release, in now connect to the greater MCU.
I loved iron man 2 when I saw it and I love it now! Love the reactions the laughs are infectious and it’s great seeing a first reaction from Sam and reminiscing about how we reacted when we first saw all these! Looking forward to this journey with you guys! Cheers! Let’s get a beer
I never understood the hate on this one. It's obviously not in the upper echelon of the MCU, but it's a solid, fun sequel that also lays some good groundwork for what's to come. It's also so much fun watching Sam get to experience this all for the first time, it really takes me back
This is so fun seeing her get to experience this journey for the first time. I can't wait for her Thor reaction. The fact that she's connecting dots and enjoying the interconnectedness means she's really going to appreciate this ride. I can't wait for her to see where this all goes. BTW, I agree the tv shows aren't necessary until we get to WandaVision which, based on her reactions, I think she'll LOVE.
Ahh sorry 'Monaco' isn't 'Paris'... its not even France but its own country hanging off the bottom of France. Also yes they still race there even this year, F1 will in 2025, there is a Historic race in March or May where I think they did this between those races for filming. Brad Pitt's F1 racing film was still filming at the end of this season should be out next year for all to see.
It was always a fan theory then it was redcon and confirmed in Deadpool and wolverine with the kids helmet being in Tony Stark's office covering a picture of Tony and Peter Parker.
Hey guys! Great reaction to a great movie. I completely agree about how in time the reception of this movie grew. This happens with a lot of movies, one movie that comes to mind is Spider-Man 3, I remember at first it had mixed reviews but over the years more and more people started to have it has their favorite from the series.
If someone told me beforehand that there’s some bad movies in a group of 20+ then it sets up an expectation as a viewer & makes me a bit pickier while watching. Sam may be different & you know her much better than I do but it’s just something you may want to consider 😊 Really loving these reactions!
I love these reactions with sam!! She's the best on these reactions (no offense to any of the other reactors, i just enjoy the content with sam the most!!)
My wife and I went to see this when it came out and while many people hated the film at the time, we actually thought it was better than the first one. Glad people are coming around on it and Sam enjoying it feels like our feelings on the movie validated. As far as you guys watching the movies, I would probably recommend watching up to No Way Home and then call it. Thor: The Dark World is probably the "worst" of the MCU films.
38:27 Stark puts the new element/chest piece in and not enough attention is paid to him becoming galactically powered at that point. That’s “tesseract” power now, right? That’s why Loki’s scepter doesn’t work on him… I like that not everything is spelled out, but I do think everything I’m saying could easily be totally wrong.
@ Do you have any theories or straight up knowledge for what makes Stark able to avoid mind control? It can’t be that Loki simply needed to move the staff to the left or right a little.. can it? That would make Loki lucky everyone else he controlled didn’t have armor on.
Never complain about Sam Rockwell talking too much in this film. That’s the best thing about the movie. He thinks he’s as cool s as Stark, but has zero charisma. Not many actors could pull it off this well.

They was trying to get him on the set of iron Man 1 but they couldn't do it. So they hired Terrance Howard instead. So the role always belonged to Don. So when it was time to film iron Man. they offered Don the The roll again, in 2013, Terrance Howard goes on Sway in the morning and admits that the road was always met for Don.
Thank you for all of your support! Please comment as much as you can, like and share! Helps us out tremendously!
I feel like Sam Rockwells performance is so underrated in this. That dance on stage kills me everytime
The guy is awesome,
He's danced in almost all of his films. Definitely a Sam Rockwell staple, and yes underrated performance.

He's my favorite part of the movie. Hammer is so funny.
any moment in a movie with Scarlett is a "Pause it" moment, god i love her

That is definitely true 🤪

hey can you please wear gloves and do a movie reaction to Austin powers international man of mystery am I okay to request that

This was Robert Downey Jr. in prime form.
Yes, I legit forgot how much fun Tony and Pepper were

Interesting tidbits!!

Love the reactions Mr. Harloff. I personally really enjoy this film
That Billy Madison reference from Harloff: 👌
Its the beat seeing someone experience the mcu for the first time! You guys are great. Keep it coming🔥
Man, there's so much I have forgotten about these movies! Glad for the rewatch.
Sam is a treasure. I look forward to these reactions so much.
Love hearing that. She is the most genuine person you will ever meet.

Tony: "Sooo now that Im no longer dying, gimme my company back!"
Watching Iron Man 2 at the time we didnt have the full vision. Now knowing where its going it makes it easier to watch.
I LOVE THIS SERIES WITH HER ❤
First time in a long time TH-cam hasnt notified me about this.
Loving this rewatch
Both Iron man 2 and 3 deserve way more credit then they got back in the day there just as fun as the first film absolutely love the iron man trilogy
It must be so much fun, Kristian, watching these again through your friend’s eyes and reactions.
God what a journey you're in for. It's so amazing. Just do yourself a favor, avoid spoilers AT ALL COSTS. Great reaction!

The scene where Stark and Rhode are fighting the drones was storyboarded by animator Genndy Tartakovsky of Samurai Jack fame.

Rhodey started off as a lighter tone and larger than life character, but as the films continue, he becomes a darker, more complex individual.

So good

Hopefully you can time Iron Man 3 in time for Christmas
I've always dug Iron Man 2. My only criticism of it has always been i thought the final fight with Whiplash should've been longer
I need a "Pause it" t-shirt
I love this movie. I don't care what anyone says, it's a great follow up to the first movie!! I said what i said!!

I really liked 2. Did so much lifting and introducing new elements. 3 is rough for me.
Tony literally can't help himself.
He's an attention hound. 😂
Iron Man 2 was Meh when i first saw it, but it's definitely growing on me with each rewatch
We are living in a world where Iron Man 2 is a much better film than most Marvel films coming out right now
No argument.
Sam is the best!!!!❤❤
Don't I know it?!
YESSS been waiting for the next one!!!
If Sam hasn't seen the wrestler, please do a reaction to that with her. I think it'll be another warrior type reaction!!
Great Video!
