Tony just had to land Shelby gt. Such a classic car.
Well she might be when she gets to all the virtue signaling & brainwashing techniques & social justice & alphabet maphia garbage that the last several films are littered with!!!!!!!
Before this movie, Iron Man was a "C List" character for Marvel. They were in financial problems in the 1990's and had to sell the movie rights to their top tier characters to other movie studios. In the mid 1990's, Marvel knew that movies were their big ticket item and focused everything on developing the MCU. At the time, Making this movie was a huge all or nothing gamble for Marvel, as was hiring Robert Downy Jr. to play Tony Stark. Marvel had the MCU main plot mapped out in pre-production for phases 1, 2, & 3 by the time they sold Marvel to Disney Studios at the end of 2009.
I wouldn't say C list. At least B. After all, they did have a popular Iron Man TV cartoon in the 1960's. I don't think a C lister would have had an animated cartoon. Iron Man was popular through the 1970's. Tony Stark was actually portrayed as an alcoholic for awhile in the comics. He even slept off alcoholic benders & claimed he was getting his batteries which kept his heart going, recharged. The movie was fairly faithful to the comic book which began in 1962, but Vietnam was the War setting, not the Middle East. In 1962, the US had some "advisors" in Vietnam, but it wasn't really a household word in the US yet, so it's quite the coincidence that Stan Lee chose it as the setting a few years before it was a big deal. I think of Iron Man as A list, but concede, that many probably think of him as B list.
@riveraharper8166 Thor & Iron Man both were well known in the 1960's & had animated TV shows. I guess it's an age gap thing? Milleneals & Zoomers weren't familiar with them. Younger Boomers like me, & older Gen X'ers are familiar with them both & likey financed the Marvel Universe, so that's why they seemingly re-emerged.
16:53- Looked like you had just as hard a time watching that part as Pepper did doing it! Really fun reactions! R.D.J was the perfect guy to play Stark, because his real-life personality kinda mirrors his comic-book persona. And in the comics it took about 15 years of publication before Tony revealed himself...not even Pepper knew.Merry X-mas!
Pepper is actually a nickname. Her real name is Virginia Potts. In the novelization of the movie, it's explained that she first met Tony when she spotted an error in his calculations. She rushed in to tell him, and when security came after her, she yelled, "I have pepper spray!" After that, Tony hired her as his personal assistant and started calling her "Pepper".
What blew the minds of every comic book fan is how committed to the source material this movie was. No apologies for the outlandish elements, just delight in telling a dawn good story. I didn't even like Iron Man before this movie. Also, keep an eye on the lore of Tony's father. It gets long, convoluted and and wonderful.
Dawn: "Whose parents would call their child Pepper, if their last name was Potts?" In my town there was a family with the last name of "Cotton". They named their daughter... "Candy". So it does happen.

One little detail about J.A.R.V.I.S. is he is always voices caution and doesn't want Tony to take unnecessary risks but in Avengers when the nuke is inbound Tony tells him to put everything into thrusters and without any hesitation J.A.R.V.I.S. says he just did
Dawn, let me tell ya'. I just love the way when you laugh you smile real big but you keep your teeth clinched together. It's such a cute habitat you've got. Keep up the good reactions.
I'm glad to see you start this journey! Please do continue on and react to the MCU movies in release order. You won't regret it. Also, you understate your intelligence. You had Obadiah pegged as the villain from the word go.
The first Iron Man movie has one of the best movie endings ever after Tony Stark admits he is Iron Man to the press and then it immediately plays the song Iron Man by Black Sabbath as the credits start then it's followed by the Nick Fury reveal and mention of the Avengers , when I watched this in 2008 it was so obvious that this was going to be massive and so many people were excited to see where it would go but I didn't expect it to be the biggest most epic film franchise ever which it became.
Considering the hell this was to make (the script was being written as it was being filmed and changes were constant), it's amazing how amazing it is. Still one of the best Marvel movies ever. Robert Downey Junior was the perfect choice for this role.
Loved the reaction. Please watch these MCU movies in release order and be on the lookout for both mid-credits and post-credits scenes in the movies going forward. And of course keep an eye out for the Stan Lee cameos.
I love this movie because it pays way more attention to detail to the iron man suit like the servo noises and functions. Sure in later movies he upgrades the suits, but I think they simply didn’t have enough time with all the other characters and plots entering the story.
Hello Dawn!😊Yep, it was "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." That was the name of the TV show too, that Phil Coulson stars in. It stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Great reactions to this very good superhero origin story, Dawn!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 "Iron Man 3" is the weakest of the trilogy. The next film is a good one, though.😉
I actually think the third one is right up there with this one as far as the Iron Man films go. The second is the weakest of the three, by a good measure.
They just wanted the name to spell out "SHIELD". A lot of people miss the fact that the agency is named in honor of Steve Roger's sacrifice, since Howard and Peggy were two of the founders of the organization.
I love your reactions. You are so entertaining and keep me from dwelling in my thoughts which I greatly appreciate. Please don’t stop doing this!! Much love from Phoenix Arizona USA 🇺🇸 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
"What mother actually names their child 'Pepper'?" No one did. 'Pepper' is a nickname for Virginia Potts. Alternate answer, director's cut. That mother is Stan 'the Man' Lee, who LOVED alliterative names. You'll see it all throughout Marvel, if you watch. Peter Parker, Pepper Potts, Happy Hogan, Scott Summers, Matt Murdock, -- literally hundreds. It's sort of reminiscent of old Superman love interests, who all had "LL" initials (Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Lori Lamaris) but on steroids. J. Jonah Jameson, Betty Brant, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom, --- you can hear Stan's roots as an ad-copy man in the names. He wanted them catchy, easy to remember, almost jingoistic.
My older brother use to be married to one of Robert Downey Jr cousin I almost could have met him but then again it was during the time they absolutely did not like each other because of how he was so maybe not but would of been cool if I got to see him I was shock when I found out he was technically family & God bless 🙏🏾🤟🏾❤️😅
Also, Paramount was doing the movies before Disney, and thought Jon Favreau-the director of Elf and Zathura-would be perfect to do a “retro tongue-in-cheek” version of Captain America. Favreau was more of a straight Marvel fan, and sold them on a straight version of his own favorite character, And Tony Stark in the Avengers was more of a straight Bruce Wayne eligible-millionaire type, and Hawkeye was the group’s snarky wisecracker.
Eye Run Man 😂 I do so love your crazy scootish accent 😁 You should check out some of the amazing things people have made trying to make real world iron man tech. Hacksmith is probably the best known. There are also so truly fantastic mechanised cosplay costumes out there
This should be fun. Since I was a kid I new many of the comic book stories would make good movies. And now, finally, we have some really great super hero movies. You also might enjoy comics, from comments and perceptions you had. The MCU is a really fun ride with a lot of endearing moments, wonderful superheroes, and great villains. Cheers.
Tony's pet robotic arm is "Dum-E", and JARVIS ("Just A Rather Very Intelligent System.") was named after his father's butler, Edwin Jarvis (can be seen in Agent Carter). JARVIS is voiced by Paul Bettany, who is real-life married to Jennifer Connelly (who played Betty Ross, Hulk's girlfriend, in "Hulk".) In the comic books, Jarvis was the Avengers' butler of Avengers mansion, and was very human, and very British. This movie's take on JARVIS is an exponential improvement on the source material. The universe you just entered is littered with "easter eggs'.

I would say barely known. Same for Thor.
While everyone knew Spider-man and The Hulk.
@sparky6086 mainstream they were barely known.
Comics book/cartoon consumers known them ofc.
Welcome to marvel, the content journey begins )
16:53- Looked like you had just as hard a time watching that part as Pepper did doing it! Really fun reactions! R.D.J was the perfect guy to play Stark, because his real-life personality kinda mirrors his comic-book persona. And in the comics it took about 15 years of publication before Tony revealed himself...not even Pepper knew.Merry X-mas!
You've clearly never read the comics. Stark in the comics is a pretty serious character, some jokes, but not on the level the films make it out to be.
Pepper is actually a nickname. Her real name is Virginia Potts. In the novelization of the movie, it's explained that she first met Tony when she spotted an error in his calculations. She rushed in to tell him, and when security came after her, she yelled, "I have pepper spray!"
After that, Tony hired her as his personal assistant and started calling her "Pepper".
Tony is someone no one should like, but he has such charisma and wit, you just can't but love him.
He is also a genuinely good person, while also being a narcissist lol
What blew the minds of every comic book fan is how committed to the source material this movie was. No apologies for the outlandish elements, just delight in telling a dawn good story.
I didn't even like Iron Man before this movie.
Also, keep an eye on the lore of Tony's father. It gets long, convoluted and and wonderful.
The scientist with glasses is Ralphie from Christmas Story
And Tony says to another kid in a later film "I loved you in A Christmas Story".
Dawn: "Whose parents would call their child Pepper, if their last name was Potts?"
In my town there was a family with the last name of "Cotton". They named their daughter... "Candy".
So it does happen.
Loved your reaction. Your delight at even the sound effects is infectious! I really love this movie. Reminds me of when I still enjoyed the MCU. :P
Yes, WOKE Disney sucks, they’re dead to me, F-em’ 🖕
Awesome! Can't wait for you to see 2. It's the best one imo.
That one and the first Avengers show the best of Ironman imo.
Just subscribed. Can't believe i wasn't subscribed. Sheesh, my mistake. Dumb of me. You're one of my favorite reactors. Good down to earth personality.
One little detail about J.A.R.V.I.S. is he is always voices caution and doesn't want Tony to take unnecessary risks but in Avengers when the nuke is inbound Tony tells him to put everything into thrusters and without any hesitation J.A.R.V.I.S. says he just did
"Well how big is it?... It's pretty big..... jesus..." made my day. 😉
Rhodes' ring tone when Tony calls him is the beginning of the Iron Man cartoon theme from the 1960s.
So glad to be starting this journey with you. Thanks as always for sharing and have a Very Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🎁🌨🥧🎆😸
"What kind of Name is Pepper Pots?" - - - A comic book one, of course.
Yup, but still better than "Granny Goodness".
@ what is Granny Goodness from?
@@toddlower5546 DC comics. One of the Darkseid sub-villains I think.
19:08 "because I have seen that before"
Spider-Man 2002
Norman Osborn: You can't do this to me... DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I SACRIFICE?!
4:48 as a veteran that’s almost what every military person says when they’re drunk lol. Stuff like that is always said
Dawn, let me tell ya'.
Sand? You were lucky, when I was a nipper sad hadn’t been invented. We had to eat gravel.
The day they taught us to pronounce the word "Iron", I was eating sand😊
"I am Iron Man" that's how it begins!
🎵 I say aluminum,
you say aluminium.
I say ion,
you say iron.
Ion, iron, aluminum, aluminium
Let's call the whole thing off... 🎵
38:39 The term is genius playboy billionaire philanthropist.
"It would be just a constant war forever". Yep.
24:57 "I don't think you should put that on when you're pissed..."
Ironic statement, considering Tony's struggles with alcoholism in the comics.
Tony Stark's character arc mirrors RDJ's real life.
Fun fact: the armor he built at the cave is based on the original Iron Man suit when it started at the comics back in the 60’s
I don't think anyone from that part of the world is even close to as equally smart as Tony lol
I just got a Meta Quest 3s, a VR headset. It's mixed reality features are just like Tony Starks tech, his computers and stuff. So cool
Such a fun reaction! Love your smile and laugh. Thanks for the good time! 🤗
Funny, I just happened to be having a drink out of my SHIELD pint glass as I watched your video.
Just watch them and enjoy. 😉
I love this movie because it pays way more attention to detail to the iron man suit like the servo noises and functions. Sure in later movies he upgrades the suits, but I think they simply didn’t have enough time with all the other characters and plots entering the story.
Iron Man was really peak Marvel
Much love from Phoenix Arizona USA 🇺🇸 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
he's going to go all "ironmandy". I see what he's doing, i didn't see that coming. all kinds of great lines in this reaction lol.
"What mother actually names their child 'Pepper'?"
No one did.
I agree I agree I agree watch them in release order even if you've seen one of them watch it again. In the end credits lead to the next one.
Favreau was more of a straight Marvel fan, and sold them on a straight version of his own favorite character,
And Tony Stark in the Avengers was more of a straight Bruce Wayne eligible-millionaire type, and Hawkeye was the group’s snarky wisecracker.
😎👍make sure to watch the rest of the MCU movies in release order
This movie was genesis of MCU.
Eye Run Man 😂 I do so love your crazy scootish accent 😁
You should check out some of the amazing things people have made trying to make real world iron man tech.
JARVIS is voiced by Paul Bettany, who is real-life married to Jennifer Connelly (who played Betty Ross, Hulk's girlfriend, in "Hulk".)
In the comic books, Jarvis was the Avengers' butler of Avengers mansion, and was very human, and very British. This movie's take on JARVIS is an exponential improvement on the source material.
The universe you just entered is littered with "easter eggs'.
Welcome to the MCU journey, wishing you lots of fun !
I love how she pronounces iron the way it's spelled 😊❤
