I am about 98% sure most footage of ants or any other invertebrates in any wildlife documentary is heavily sounddesigned for immersive and cinematic reasons. After all, they don't really make audible noises, as you said. Silent video of ants crawling around wouldn't be very entertaining for the audience. Also "the sun being hot" doesn't sound particularly like this agressively growling one where I live.
