I got my job at a grocery store at 16 and didn’t have a resume. They don’t really have a reason to deny you. When they are hiring, they are hiring. All the new hires we get are all given a chance. We’ve gotten new hires who were a little slow and couldn’t handle the job and later got fired. So having a resume kinda depends on where you’re tryna get into.
What if you didn't finish GCSE? I few months before because I moved and stuff happened just asking because when I'm doing a CV online it says level of education and the GCSE you studied like maths or English
As an upcoming senior in high school in the job market it may take a hundred applications and 15 or so interviews before you're hired. So, never give up. If you fail, think about what you can change about your approach. This video gave me some better insight into what I should do moving forward.
@@MegaBond101 I mean it's how getting a job is these days. It's not easy anymore because there's just so much competition even for the simple jobs. Esp if you have obligations other than work (school, college, etc...). It really should not be so difficult to get a job but it really is in America at least.
as a 17 yo who just moved here in the uk with my family less than 4 months ago, i am very lucky to be employed at a loungers restaurant within a month with no qualifications or even an interview with max hourly wage for a 17 yo because of my uncle who works there. after 3 months, i am now being transferred to their other chain which is bigger and closer to my current house. i believe that things will only get more difficult for me especially because of school, but so far so good i guess.
I've appreciated your short form content for a while, and I'm so happy you have long form content like this. I can't stress enough how helpful this video is for me while trying to land my first job in college. Thanks so much!
everything that you mentioned at the end like how to open a bank account, credit and debit card differences make videos on all that please!! it'll definitely be helpful to a lot of people
Begging for a part two gohar, i want to get some beforehand experience on the bank accounts and investment funds, kinda nervous on those topics, please make a part two 🙏🙏🙏
as a recently graduated highscooler going into college to get a degree in teaching music, this realyl just cleared up most of my questions about getting a job. thank you

I'm so glad you just started doing these videos now that I already graduated out of high school, I will use those useful tips to land a job while I'm in college this fall.
Gohar, you are very good at explaining things that matter in simple, concise ways. This is solid proof of that. Keep this series going and DO NOT stop. As for an episode 2, I recommend teaching what to do with the money from your job. For example, how much of it to spend on wants vs. needs, savings vs. investments, etc. It would be really helpful for lots of high schoolers, including me.
Love that you’re teaching life skills now! I actually had an easy time landing a job. I currently hold 2 and I’m looking to land a third one. I got my first because I went to a job fair that hires teens, and I got my second one because I just applied tbh it actually wasn’t that difficult lol.
I have nothing to put on a resume, and I can't even think how to answer questions like these, hell, even 'tell me about yourself' or 'explain a time you demonstrated leadership' I never tried to be a leader to anyone, I just have never been around others much at all. And I don't think there's anything worth knowing about me much, I have nothing relevant to really say, and my memory isn't good either
How to stop being absent minded? It's hard to stop. I got bad grades because of not listening in the class and thinking unrelated topics while in the class but my teacher said to me that i am smart i just don't listen and also my classmates said to me that i am a overthinker. I think being overthinker is the reason why i'm absent minded
Wow thanks Gohar as always. I was thinking all day about getting a job because it's summer and I log in to TH-cam and this video pops up. Perfect timing as always
Dude I didn’t even need a resume for my first job. I just walked in, asked the cashier for the manager, talked to the manager, went to orientation, and got a job. That was when I was 15.

amazing video! literally all the essentials in 12 mins lol could you maybe do a video on how to politely resign from a job? i know i’m not going to be in my hometown forever and will eventually have to move somewhere else for college, but i’m not too sure how to respectfully quit and would love your specific tips and instruction!
Great Video! Could you make a video about how to responsibly use money, or similar. Something like a money related video are really helpful because school doesn’t teach you or require you to learn about money.
Honestly Walmart is the best. They’re everywhere, you get paid pretty good for a first job, you get good discounts and other stuff too. I’m starting soon in the tech department and not a lot people come in to ask you questions. You just chill out and get 17 bucks an hour
Bro my first ever job, I froze up on the "tell me about yourself" question. The employer was a distant relative of mine so I got the benefit of the doubt, but it was still super embarassing.

Dad: “He will be a cook

You will most definitely get a better chance at an interview
What do I say? Just ask to hand the resume to a manager and ask to consider?
Ask for the manager then say I'm looking to play like you don't be scared
Lmao this ain't 80s you'll get laughed at.
Thanks Gohar for not just teaching study skills but also life skills
