The people that shop in hardware stores think everyone that works there is a “professional contractor” they just want free advice or tips. They don’t actually want to pay anyone to do the actual work

Same here my god damn mom was begging me to get a job well both her and my dad wouldn’t just shut up like I got a job but soon around June or July I’m quitting because I want to work from home now and don’t want to work for nobody else right now
Okay but this is actually a really good video for people who are trying to learn English. It is spoken clearly, but has a lot of vocabulary about jobs which people might need, and the context is clear enough to figure it out. I teach English to pupils who don't have it as their native language and I use this video in my lessons. My pupils love it! Thank you!

This is every hardware store in a nutshell. I worked at one for years, and this happens all the damn time. This is kinda a long story, but worth the laughs. While working there, my revenge was I made-up this fictitious "retail union" by using Paint to make a business logo and getting small amounts of people to follow my "union" on Twitter while making parody tweets about more people joining the union. Then I made a "retail union" letterhead making it look like a legitimate union, and sent a letter to the general office saying stores in my state were being neglected, and were threatening to unionize and take legal action if conditions were not met. I shit you not, two months later, all stores in my area had a reminder that unions are forbidden, and to shut us up, gave all 300 stores across the country a $0.50 pay raise with another $0.50 pay raise opportunity if you pass a "competence test." If you worked at that company in 2015, I did it all for you, and you're welcome! ☺️😂
I feel so unique. My first job was construction and so was my second job while my third was carpenter. My 6th job was, fast food lmao. After that I went to tipped jobs that while being low pay, the tips make it up and give you 4k and above a month with less taxes to pay.
I hated working at this big shoe store so towards the end when I was really sick of it if I liked the customer I would take the clipboard that has the discount barcodes on them and scan the highest one three times. :) This lady and her daughter got some 70 dollar boots for 20 something bucks.
