I see three different types of rides. Commuting; just getting there and back. Fitness; pushing hard to build up your strength and endurance. Touring; enjoying one's surroundings and not caring about one's speed. Each have their place, but I find touring the most enjoyable and fulfilling. I've enjoyed sharing your touring rides.
Well said! While "bikepacking races" are jus that:,a race to push our limits physically and mentally I find many individuals who still place these performance expectations while on tour and then feel very disappointed they are not reaching these goals. Just a reminder to people that slowing down is okay, and gives way to enhanced enjoyment of the things we can't tally up on a calculator. -- peace!
That whole area around Brewster lake just outside Campbell River is amazing. I went there car camping last summer and had the thought it would be great to bike around.
Such an awesome series! It just makes me realize even more that I really need another trip before the end of the year. Stay safe. But above all, stay Salty! Peace
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures Rob, Done. Keep me posted this winter. This month we are away biking in California wine district, but looking forward to meeting those in your group when back in December
South end of the island was cut off for a bit. People went a bit nuts hoarding food & all the gas stations ran out of fuel for a few days. Good time to be a cyclist. The mainland is another story. Many rail and highways are not functional. And winter is here, so I don’t know really how soon everything will take to be repaired. It’s going to be a long hard season. I feed for those that lots loved ones in the various slides.
Watching you swim makes my envious for summer again. I'm not ready for grey skies and rain!
yeah.... the summer (and the entire year) just flew past us.
Really enjoying all of your videos and living vicariously through you lol. Happy adventuring!
