Hey Rob!!!! Hope all is well. I forgot I had this footage stored away, and though it was time to crank it out. It's a fun little ride. Great to knock off in one day, or make it a very chill weekender. No shortage of hills to climb on Salt Spring Island.
Hey there “Phoenix” - glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, the water is pretty nice up here. But when it’s cold, raining, or snowing… I’m thinking a lot about Arizona! Wish there was a direct Amtak from Seattle to Phoenix to Austin TX - I’d be going on winter trips all the time. LOL
Great video. We did Schwartz bay to visivius back out onto mainland last year - June 2022. I certainly did not like the hill off the ferry onto salt spring. As always really enjoy your videos.
Thanks Rob for sharing a new adventure. I was missing a bit of ny drug in my morning routine while my breakfast ❤. By the way, I love your new 70s footage style 😂
I do run tubeless actually, but on that particular trip I had a double rear puncture the day before commuting to/from work and just left the rear tube in for the trip.
Great work on the intro and theme, so stylish! 😎 I didn't see much of Salt Spring on my tour, but I had a limited number of days left to see Galiano and Saturna which where totally mind blowing awesome with their viewpoints of all the other islands... Oh was that Vesuvius Bay Road still as dangerous as I remember it??
For being small islands, with few roads, it's actually surprising all the places to explore. Especially if you like to add beach-walking side trips, swims in small lakes (or the ocean) along with just poking around the towns, indulging in bakeries, and seeking out local art. As for the roads? Honestly, I've never found them an issue or "dangerous" - people tend to be pretty chill. I would say Galiano is probably the worst I've been on, only because there is the one main road leading up the west side of the island with the bulk of the touristy traffic zipping between the ferry & Montague Harbour (campground). On that trip, I didn't have the desire to climb to one of the many hill-top vistas. LOL - last time I did that, the last 100m was into the clouds. Murphy's law.
hey rob just found your channel, have already learned so much! Particularly your series on the KVR. my only question is non-cycling related- how did you manage to snag a weekend reservation for Ruckle?! haha, keep up the great work
Most of Ruckle walk-in spots are first come first serve and they don’t turn away cyclists. All the car spots are reservable along with the group sites. This is what makes Ruckle so awesome. 8 RV sites. And of the walk-in sites, 10 reservable, and 78 first come first serve sites.
You have the Cha-Ching of payment at each ferry, but arent they free for seniors during the week? 😂 I need to bike a few more years to do the tour for free 😅 Great video!
Hey, there Dan: Was that directed to me or to another commentor? I've done a lot of riding in Comox... I need to make some videos of "mid-island" routes. There's just so much to see, and such little time. Have you been following (or know of) the Caves & Coves TT race? - If not, go back to the previous video and watch the race preview. You can find current racers and results on my website. Follow anyone on the course via Trackleaders.com
It's fun seeing some of the places I traveled to last fall. It's motivation to get over to the island(s) again.
Love the new '70s style intro.
Thanks 😊 I hope I’m the enabler/instigator of new adventures
Thanks for sharing your adventure. Your editing is spectacular. Looking forward to more of your bikepacking adventures 😊
Thanks for watching! Much more to come... but a slow process. You know, the day job gets in the way. LOL. Share and help me grow!
What up Rob?!?
Chill weekender!
I like it!
🍻

Thanks Nicko ! Enjoy some binge watching 🫶🏼
Nice ride. I miss living in Victoria. Thanks for sharing!
- you’re welcome. I’m sure at some point I will be missing the Island, but for I’m getting my fill… err… miles in.
Few things I dislike more on a bike than racing to catch a ferry…🥵. And I don’t think there is a more perfect Provincial Park than Ruckle…bliss…😊
I totally agree! -- must leave earlier. LOL
Looks awesome i might have to put it on the to do list
It’s a fun ride
Great video
Thanks 😊
Great ride Rob! Loved the scenery. Thanks for sharing!❤
Thanks 😊

Happy to supply your morning “vices”
Unsure what I’m doing for an intro. I’d like to switch it up a bit.
Love the music and the style! Surprised you're not running tubeless

7 years with no flats then bam 3 trips in a row flats. Learned me real good...😂
They come in bunches… that’s one thing I’ve learned about flats over the years. Usually in “threes”
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures seems like it.

Yes, they do... but I'm not there quite yet. Bet'cha they would card me too. LOL
@@SaltyBeard_Adventures your luscious white beard led me astray! 😂

Come bike packing in Comox valley.
