Hi Phil. I have built this kit and I know that there is a moulded line on the tail and on the wings too. A man with your talents must surely been able to paint to that line. Those lines are the de-icing boots that were fitted to all American bombers during the war. A little tip for you. If you go to a motor garage where they do tepaints or a motor factors store the sell a tape of various widths which is a very soft kind of plastic. They use it in garages when they need to mask off an area of a car before repainting it. Ask in a garage and they will show it to you so you will know what I mean. I have been dipping in and out of this build and have enjoyed it. So good luck and I look forward to seeing how you get on. Well done bud.

hello Brian, you're right, there are moulded on lines for the de icing boots on the wings and tailplane, and looking at my example, the rivets do stop on the empennage right where the boot line should be (its what I used to line up the flexi tape in the first place) so I actually shone a light over the tail which does show up an extremely faint line there, it looks like over time the moulds have gotten worn and some detail has been lost, the smaller clear parts have certainly suffered from this, and the larger clear parts have no frame lines whatsoever, as regards the tape, I have about 6 rolls of that auto detailing tape in various widths, i will probably be using some of that on the wings to paint the blue "V" and yellow wing tips.
and finally, I'm glad you're enjoying what I'm doing, and I genuinely appreciate your kind words, thanks!

THis is a superb product and I have used it for years in so many situations. My I also suggest artist's drawing gum (aka masking fluid)

too right! I do have a bottle of that which I use for masking too (and its cheaper than dedicated modelling liquid mask!)
