- Here is a quick 10 minute video of a fire we had earlier in the year. Hopefully you can use it as a drill for your self or with your crews.
Just after shift change on a Saturday morning we were alerted for a possible fire on a porch, also smoke in the building. Units arrived out of normal order due to some being on the street already.
The fire started on the porch and worked its way into the voids. It was believed to have been started by a cigarette. Based on discussions with the occupants the fire could have been burning for about an hour before breaking through the ceiling and 911 being called.
The video shows pretty much everything that went on from the exterior point of view. There are some things that could be done differently and the are always discussed after the incident. We learn through education, training, doing and reviewing. Hopefully you can take away some points to discuss with your crews at your next drill.
Thanks for checking it out.
From everything I've seen, words cannot express how great these guys are. HBF deserves everything and more
I love these types of videos from a first hand view of someone in command of a structure fire. Keep em up man. You get my sub
Awesome, thank you!
Vids like these are needed
Thank you Chief for sharing your first hand experiences….
Thank you, hopefully you find some value in what we're doing.
Nice photos of ancient exposed electrical wiring!
Thanks!
13 fire fighters. Great job!! Your equipment looks great. 🇺🇸🍀🇺🇸. HBF many moons ago.
Excellent job. Worked for a department in the east coast that had limited resources and now work for a dept in the west coast with limited resources so I feel your pain. Really like how you take pics in the end of what the interior crews were dealing with .. hose stretches ,stairways , ect. Never had a fire in a row house but looks like your on the clock if you want to save anything. Great job with the videos I’ve seen
Thank you! The limited resource / urban environment to me is hands down the firefighter proving ground. It is something that many don't ever get to experience. But we have for the most part, one opportunity to get it correct or its becomes exponentially more difficult. There is no place I would rather work!
Outstanding work chief.
Live on the West Shore, would love to see more local videos. Great job captain 👏
I'm working on some new training videos with some previously filmed content. I hope to have them out later in the spring.
Strong work by the guys, Chief!
They do good work!
What great work Fire Chief.
Great to see the 2.5 gallon can... one of the most under utilized tools in the box
Good work crew!
Awesome video
Can you please drop more videos??? Love them🔥❤️❤️❤️ great work by you boyz and stay safe brother would love to come do a ride along
More to come!
Awesome sauce good job
Happy New Year Chief B. Let’s hope for a safe one.
Thank you! Same to you!
That fireman carrying the ladder didn't hesitate when told there may be someone in the 1st floor apartment.
Life is always our # 1 priority!
This department just does not dawdle getting quick water on the fire. It seems like some department take way too long. This was difficult because of the narrow alley. In another situation an exterior attack would have been a successful quick approach.
Videographer and Harrisburg did good
Proper size up, investigation, and tactics are far more important than speed
Better to be methodical than "fast"... something that laypersons simply do not grasp
God Bless HFD STAY SAFE BROTHERS THANK YOU.
New sub here, Sir!
Thank you!
Nice photos of ancient exposed electrical wiring!
Thanks!
