Life Of Kevin Awesome man good job. Yeah people have had a few issues with the brass/metal part. But just have to keep playing with it and prying it open slowly to not damage anything.
Sony controllers use Ribon cables you have to push the top up and pull it out. Never yank it out. You can cause the motherboard to short itself out when you test it
Video helped a lot. I had a mic piece stuck in the headphone jack for the longest, I was too scared to take it apart but this video helped me get it out and put my controller back in perfect condition.
You can do the job without disassebly just find a pen broke it because you'll need the tube inside. heat the tip of the tube with fire and glue it to the end of the broken plug wait until it cools down and pull the plastic tube the jack should came off , you also can do the trick with a q tip start with removing the cotton part with a sizzor heat up the plastic until it melts and stick it to the broken plug wait until it cools down and pull off the broken plug should came out.
Thank you! I took my sons controller apart, took out the broken piece from the headset but also was able to fix another piece that had broken before and was rattling around in the controller. I feel like a boss. I'm a superhero to my son right now lol. Great video.
** For anyone who can't take the metal off at the very end, just use a paper clip to push through those little holes. You can push the broken piece out** Usually it can work! OR USE TWEEZERS AND TRY TO PULL IT OUT FROM THE FRONT.
I have a problem with the controller. I've removed the little piece of metal from the controller but if i put my earphones on the audio output it doesn't detect them. Aye if you can please respond that would be great but I did everything the part I’m stuck on is when you have to take that metal part from the headphone jack out and push the broken piece out and I can’t seem to use my flathead screwdriver to pull out the metal part. Any ideas?
Try using a paper clip and pushing through the sides. There should be little holes. Someone did that and it worked. If not another person put crazy glue inside the front attached to like a pen, waited for it to dry, then pulled it out.
This helped me a ton ,with anyone who is struggling with the metal peice at the end use a screwdriver to push the price against the metal part ,push hard enough and you should get a lip that is bent out enough so a flathead can bend it all the way out ,comment if you have questions
