That's exactly how I did when I was learning it a few months back! I already landed a few straight from the back fs lip and then tried to fully commit on going frontside and do a proper one, but I landed with my weight leaning back and fell on the rail with my back :/ haven't tried since, it will take some time to let go of the fear (I'm 31 with family so it's not easy building up confidence after a bail) but for all the young guns out there: go for it! With this tip you can learn fs lip in no time. 100% best fs lip tricktip out there.
I have always been afraid to lipslides but I love the advice of working from straight on and then widening the angle. As soon as you said that my first thought was "I can do that"! Thanks!
You're killing it with these tutorials, Dan. So, BS Board and FS Lip have the same body orientation? FS Board and BS Lip are both sliding "backwards" in terms of body orientation? So really BS Board/FS Lip are the "same slide" but from different entry points, and FS Board/BS Lip are the "same slide" with different entry points... the difference being which side of the rail you ollie from? This is like Smith/Willy/feeble all over again....

I may or may have not done a fs lipslide today applying this. I am not sure, I needed a witness standing in front of the rail to tell if it was a fs lipslide or a bs boardslide. God knows I was pushing myself to pop from the frontside of the rail.
For some reason this is the gnarliest trick for me. I could do that straight-on way all day long, but when it comes to kissing the end then it becomes terrifying.

Having a good idea of how to bone ollies out and do Shiftys help with this trick too. People need to spend more time playing with their ollies! Dont neglect your freekin ollies people!! I want to try the front lip to 5-0 variation you do sometimes that looks clean how is that transition into the 5-0? Does it feel smooth or is it a battle?
I can get into and land the Lipslide straight over the rail and slightly to the side of it but when it comes to coming in completely to the side of the rail

I just had my round rail made earlier. Are square base plates ok? Or should I go with the same like that rectangular base plate keen ramps round rail? I still have time to change the base plates shape. And, is there a difference between square and rectangular base plate? Thanks!

The thing with me is, I can olly much higher going into a truck than I can when I just flat ground olly. It’s like my mind is off of timing and all that, and I’m focusing on the task.
