    I find it funny people think this is easier on a ledge. When there are so many other things that come into play, on a ledge. Like wheels sticking to the top and pitching your ass off. It is scarier on a rail but so much easier.

    One big tip is lean a little too forward the first time and each try it. Afterwords lean a little more back until you get used to sliding on a board slides

  • @PHeMoX

    I did notice this is a 'all of nothing' trick for me. Mostly because as a beginner with a slight fear it's kind of hard to commit to ending up fully balanced above the board. But to me the easiest way to board slide is when fully balanced over the board (kind of makes sense I guess). This is kind of why I do think flatbars are the way to go when first learning. For me it doesn't work landing at a slight angle (or rather, it can make it more difficult really). Maybe even do a caveman boardslide with the board already on the flatbar to get a feel for how it can slide too. I've noticed that took away a lot of the fear for me. In reality, boardslides are not a difficult trick, once you find a speed you're comfortable with and are able to ollie fairly controlled into them.

    Such a good video. You really are the trick tip master! I'm so tired of pussin out on rails for no reason. Can't stop leaning back so I'm consistently slipping out. I know I'll get it if i can just force myself to get over the trucks. I'll probably stop falling too. Grab me some ice packs and try again after lunch🤕

  • @thehandleiwantedwasntavailable
    @thehandleiwantedwasntavailable 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    My tip. If you’re totally new to board sliding, don’t start with a rail. Start with a modest ledge or low kerb - and start with just kissing the end as Dan showed. Using a ledge or kerb avoids getting tangled and caught up in the rail. It has the added benefit in the case of a kerb, of providing a wider surface to slide on which reduces the amount of ‘balancing’ required. Once you’re confident on those obstacles it’s easy to take it to a rail.

    i think that to learn bs boardslides its better to learn on ledges where you can slide using your front wheels, that feeling is the same you can feel when you do a boardslide on rail, cause the angle and balance its practically the same. so when you get a long and stable slide on ledges you autmatically can do the same on rails. its a fact that you must use more wax on ledge at the wheels contact zone, cause its tends to stuck with ease, and for me something I learned is to slightly lean foward before make ollie into boardslide, cause that prevent to lean backwards when you get over the rail

So I end up duckwalking, not getting my feet of the board, and have slammed like a bastard a couple of times. Anyone have tips for getting proper bailing into my muscle memory? I've considered jumping up and "stalling" on the end of the rail, then jumping of, but I donno...

      @pnpsilver 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah for beginners like your self I would suggest getting comfortable riding a board , especially with some speed. Able to do pivots, kickturns and reverts reasonably well.
      Frontside 180 and Backside 180. Some people choose a preference of the two tricks but both are necessary. For example Im a backside guy. Kickflip and or Heelflip. Pop shuvits, shuvits. Varial kick flip. Ollying up a curb and down a curb. Technically imo ollying up and down curbs with ease will give you board slide ability.
      Rails will always appear more daunting than curbs but they offer less friction. So it ultimately becomes a smooth cakewalk when you know you can get on and off.

    Do you want your knees bent or straight when getting onto the rail? Feels weird committing to getting both feet on bc maybe my legs are too bent?

    • @luqmanhakeem3070
      @luqmanhakeem3070 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think bent would be more stable

    You don't need a square rail! You need a good parking block or a skinny short wall!

    Is boardsliding a curb easier than a rail? because I cannot do a curb but I really want to attempt a rail. I dislocated my shoulder snowboarding a rail so they freak me out

    • @landonkane1795
      @landonkane1795 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try boardsliding a parking block cause a curb ur wheels stick then u can determine if your ready for a rail

    • @savagestyles1606
      @savagestyles1606 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did parking block first then stopped for like ~2 months, had to relearn on a small rail. Both took like 1-2 hours, one good sesh and you can learn either way 🦾

      I had this problem too, I fixed it buy keeping my balance over the board and not leaning back as much.
