Ok, I sincerely mean this as the highest praise, every time you show your color palette for projects I’m like, “what the hell?” And then you finish the piece and pull off EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. (I could never pull them off because I lack the confidence) but you slip them on and my brain says, “Yes, that makes sense now. Beautiful. Very Jenna. Excellent work.” ❤
This old lady loves your channel. I have a suggestion, however for your pants upcycle; take the side seam out so you can flatten the pant leg and get it into your sewing machine. Then, just stitch it back up. Learned that trick years ago when I was 1960s hippie. I'm old. Continue to entertain and inspire.
I was inspired by the same pictures you were off Pinterest for the patchwork pants. I did mine about 3 weeks ago on a pair of $.99 thrifted jeans and $.99 thrifted khakis. I did embroidery stitches around mine. I used scraps of fabric I already had, and I thrifted many, many rolls of different colored doilie thread. I used the doilie thread to embroider around and through my patches with Sashiko stitches. I wish I could share a picture with you. I am a teacher, and my students love them! I embroider flowers on my Converse too.
I had an old pair of boot cuts and I used ric rack around the hems for about 8 rows in different colours. I bloody loved those jeans and no one had the same pair. Uniquely me... you have now inspired me to do it again. I have some dungerees that need cheering up.... ps happy 8th birthday Benson 🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can. I recently saw a woman buying a sewing machine from Fred Meyer. She was so excited. All you have to do is get the simplest machine, and sew two pieces of fabric together. Voila!
I've really felt the desire to do some different stuff with my wardrobe, but 'til last year, struggled with inspiration - in these last couple of months I've enjoyed exploring channels doing thrift-flipping & up-cycling - & had such an incredible time recently garnering ideas & thoughts of the kinds of things I want to do, that could fit in with my personal aesthetics & style - I started wanting to get rid of stuff I don't like any more, like we all do - but I've really focused more on reworking stuff that I still largely like, but there's just _something_ off about them; I've put aside a bag full of clothes to re-dye, to bring them back to life - & some plain stuff that I've adding beading or embroidery to. Several dresses/ skirts I've added side panels/ new waistbands to, to re-fit them - but my three most exciting projects: I've kept hold of a pair of embroidered jeans that I haven't worn since I was like 16, but I've always been reluctant to throw them out - after seeing some Pintrest stuff, showing creatively patched jeans & Sashiko, I decided to bite the bullet as it were- & cut the embroidery off, & sew them onto my (very) well-loved & still frequently worn Gieger jeans! A really cute top I own, is getting an extra buttoned panel of lace & ribbon added to it- the way I'm planning to do it will allow it to be slightly convertible- so it can be worn without it, if wanted. I also bought two dresses that were the same make, just two different colours, many years ago - & I've decided to merge them together into one dress: black & electric blue- allowing me to technically resize a style of dress I like a lot - it will make for a very striking outfit!
I have a whole load of patchwork, just like that, from a quilt my mum and I started, about 30 years ago. I'm always trying to think of ways to use it, other than finishing the quilt. And now, thanks to Jenna, i know how I can use at least a little of it. Love those jeans! Thanks Jenna 😊
Well this is a lot of fun. The tops are very busy, what a quirky look! It's amazing how fashion seems to be cycling back to 60s, 70s etc. My faves are definitely the jeans. Super cute.
Jenna puts on the blue striped crochet shirt. Me: oooh! That's cute! And it already looks amazing on her, I wonder what she's doing with it! Jenn: "It's ugly" 😂😂😂 Yeah it wasn't Jenna-style. I love how you changed all the thrifts! ❤
The lighter "finishing" trick has been one of mine as well since a while ago - "hemmed" a satin skirt in October that way because I was in a rush. It does demand a very steady hand though :)) glad to see "the pros" do it that way as well, hahah :)
It's so funny, I dress so classic like all black or very pastel colors, I could never wear what Jenna makes (no confidence haha) but I admire her style and her creativity so much !!!!! Like.... How do you get those ideas ? I love it !!! And it will surely look absolutely lovely worn by you. I love it ! Edit: Also, the birthday party... With the three dogs, I melted, it's adorable !!! Thank you for this content Jenna
You are the grownup version of my granddaughter Adelay who is 9 years old. She made her first video at 5 years old. I love your energy and genuine demeanor!
I'll bet you know this, and maybe it's in the comments somewhere already - I didn't see it, but the reason the first rick-rack melted is because it was made of a synthetic or blend containing nylon or polyester, which melts. The second giant rick-rack was likely made of cotton, which burns. The burn test is a good way to identify the fiber content of a fabric.
It is in fact a Saturday night… and I am in fact… hanging out with my sister’s dog, Odis, and my cat, Bella …. While bullet journaling …. And watching your video. I love your thrift flips…
Every time you cut thru your clothes my heat drops & I say she just ruined a very good top but then you fix it up so cute. You are so creative in everything you do. Love watching you create your own style. Keep up the great work that you do. Love your channel. Happy Birthday Benson.
Love your unique brand of freestyle and unbridled design sense! I'm not always sure where you are going with your plan, but your willingness to redo if need be and trust the process is fabulous!! Can't wait for the next project! 😎
Lol I relate. It's Sunday night and I'm hanging out with 2 dogs. I will be going to the thrift shop to find bedsheets for a tiered dress and maybe a knit or crochet top to flip. I like the style of your collar but am too into symmetry to like your color scheme. I am thrilled at how much you love it
i was very pleased with the way the navy/white crochet redo came out. I thought it would be a big fail, but it is favulous. The pink shirt is nice, but I never liked rick rack. The Pants are so cute.
Hey Jenna ❤ I'm a new Sub. Hahaha. Just wanted to say I've been watching your awesome videos and trying to get inspired for my next crochet project. I'm 65 years old and learned to crochet the "small thread crochet" from my beloved Nanny (grandma) when I was 7 or 8 and I've been crochet the basics ever since. The reason I'm commenting is You're not the only one hanging out with the Pups. Hahaha. I'm usually hanging out , crocheting every night with my 6 little dogs !! Yes 6 ! They're Chihuahua with ¼ Yorkie thrown in and they're my babies and a couple have to participate in my most of my crochet projects. They are Yarn-a-holics like their Momma and just love to be smelling it or holding it in their little paws. Hahaha. Thanks for sharing your expertise in your videos
Happy birthday to Benson! I keep meaning to comment, but I was watching with my two year old one time and she was like “Oh! That’s her kangaroo” about Benson. 😄😄😄
“Fire!” “That’s where the money is”….have you been watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives lately? 😄 love your talent to see the potential in thrifted things like you do. Plus, your personality is epic 😊
Definitely going to try out the patchwork jeans. Those look really fun. I just need to find an unfinished quilt at the thrift store! or make some patches myself! Also I'm watching this on a Tuesday, while knitting & hanging out with my 2 cats....Close enough to Saturday, hand sewing with 3 dogs. 🙃
its Saturday and im going to be in my room studying all day making breaks to see your videos (other Saturdays I do crochet with your videos in the background haha) so... yes I think most of us can be doing exactly the same type of things on a Saturday evening haha
Okay I absolutely love the collar! And cropping the lenght and arms made it soo mich better!! I know you said nobody will probably recreate these but I just might try that one out 😄
Am I wrong that your machine has a Swing Arm? You may have been able to get the lower leg of the jeans in that way-worth a try anyway! They came out so flippin’ cute! {get it, thrift flip?} And with that mustard top? Chef’s kiss, Jenna!
I love the cropper Jenna. If I was still slim I would look for a top to crop Looks great on you! I could not see the collar trim, but assume it was picot, which always finishes an edge. Good flips in general
Fantastic Jenna, love the crochet sweater and of course your quilted patch jeans. The simple shirt was easily transformed, quite. 🥰. Happy Belated Birthday Benson 🎉🎉🎉
I also love sewing, I have 5 pet dogs at home. So hanging out with 5. And there are more street dogs whom I feed. So every weekend I repeat the same thing.

Thank you sooooo much ❤️
I think I’m going to try the jeans.just have to find a quilt
Same, they make no sense to me until they’re done, I’ve learned to trust the process with Jenna 😂
@@JennaPhipps I just saw a crotchet cardigan... it's amazing would make an awesome project, check it out!
Literally my thoughts everytime! ❤
Did Jenna single-handedly remodelled my aesthetic preferences over the last three years? Yes, yes she did
Pro tips: feeling stressed? Watch Jenna. Need a virtual friend to knit with? Watch Jenna. Need a dose of happiness? Watch Jenna! Love you Jenna!

We need a fashion show/lookbook of all the pieces you made this year
that would be so cool to see!!
You are single handedly bringing back my childhood in the '70s with these creations. I love the jeans.
I was inspired by the same pictures you were off Pinterest for the patchwork pants. I did mine about 3 weeks ago on a pair of $.99 thrifted jeans and $.99 thrifted khakis. Oooo this is an awesome idea!
i LOVE the jeans. And the crochet shirt definitely looks better cropped and with short sleeves
You are so talented! I wish I could make my own clothes, I love to watch you crochet and make clothes!

The collared top looks like something out of a Wes Anderson film and I’m HERE for it
Sewing and hanging out with dogs on a Saturday sounds like my kind of night 🥰
crafting and hanging out with my pets is basically all i do in the evenings so it sounds amazing ngl
I love that collar. I am searching my wardrobe for a top to thrift just like that
Well this is a lot of fun. The tops are very busy, what a quirky look! It's amazing how fashion seems to be cycling back to 60s, 70s etc.
My faves are definitely the jeans. Super cute.
okay but that little crochet top is adorable! I must admit, I was struggling to see the vision... but you absolutely did it and more 😍😍
Jenna puts on the blue striped crochet shirt.
Me: oooh! That's cute! And it already looks amazing on her, I wonder what she's doing with it!
Jenn: "It's ugly" 😂😂😂
Yeah it wasn't Jenna-style. I love how you changed all the thrifts! ❤
It’s Thursday right now, i have the day off of school and im hanging out with one dog white crocheting a top. I am living the absolute life!
I am OBSESSED with how the crochet top turned out!
Happy birthday benson🎉❤
I love what you did - especially with the jeans and sweater. I love watching you create. ❤
That sweater is everything! It turned out so good! And the pants….chefs kiss!🤌🏼❤️
I really LOVED the sweater collar! I LOVE your videos, your dogs and energy! I would love a tour of your new apartment as well. Many blesses to you!
The lighter "finishing" trick has been one of mine as well since a while ago - "hemmed" a satin skirt in October that way because I was in a rush. It does demand a very steady hand though :)) glad to see "the pros" do it that way as well, hahah :)
I love that fabulous collar on the crocheted top! Can't wait to try something similar!
Your enthusiasm is contagious. 😃
You are such a good dog mom Jenna! And I loooooove the jeans!!
I love the pants so much. The grandmother's flower garden quilt works perfectly 👌 👍 🥰 on the denim!
Soo glad to know I’m not the only one hanging out with 3 dog with people names too. I have Karen, Linda and Pippa to hang with ❤
I strive to be as creative and talented with my hands as you are! 💖 I love all of these thrift flips that you did, especially those pants 😍
That sweater got me scared but turned out stunning: trust the process guys!
I love wearing clothes with lots of bright colours. Everything you make is wonderful. 😊
I love it !

Such a good idea with adding the crochet, never thought of that. It turned out fantastic, looks like something you might find in a boutique.
I just adore it when you thrift flip…….outstanding results !
You are the grownup version of my granddaughter Adelay who is 9 years old. She made her first video at 5 years old.

Wow, interesting piece of information. Thanks
Jenna, your videos are actually my happy place. I love watching them right before bed. Thank you for making such great, wholesome content ❤
It is in fact a Saturday night… and I am in fact… hanging out with my sister’s dog, Odis, and my cat, Bella …. While bullet journaling …. And watching your video. I love your thrift flips…
The crochet collar top turned out so cute!
Love all your pieces and my #1 is the pants. How perfect you found the quilt topper just like your inspiration. Glad I found you.
i looooovvvvveeeeeee your vids jenna.....you have inpired me to make my own clothes
Every time you cut thru your clothes my heat drops & I say she just ruined a very good top but then you fix it up so cute. You are so creative in everything you do. Love watching you create your own style. Keep up the great work that you do. Love your channel. Happy Birthday Benson.
Jenna, You could machine sew the jeans if you simply ripp the center legs seam and make it flat. Then re sew the seam. Love your ideas!!
It's Saturday afternoon, and I'm hanging out with one (1) cat. But almost!
I love thrift flipping videos! Also happy birthday Benson!!!
Love your unique brand of freestyle and unbridled design sense! I'm not always sure where you are going with your plan, but your willingness to redo if need be and trust the process is fabulous!! Can't wait for the next project! 😎

You have won, from my book, the best thrift flip challenge. 🏆🎖 So good. ❤
Yes! I'd buy that sweater in a quick minute! So cute!! Dang girl you ROCK!
The rickrack that burns is natural fiber like cotton and the ones that melt are polyester. Nice flips😊
Love the puppy dogs.
Jenna you are amazing. You always surprise me with your never ending ideas and talent.Thank you.
The sweater was my favorite. You did an amazing job on all three projects. Happy Birthday Benson!!!
i absolutely LOVE that collared crochet top! ik you said no one will probably make these but i genuinely might make that one, i love it so much
Very cute Jenna. Well done!❤❤

Looovvve the crochet sweater, now I’m on a mission❤️and happy birthday Benson, you rrrrock🦴🎂
I feel bad now….Happy belated birthday to Benson and I’m really here for the crochet..love the collar on the jumper so much! ❤
Thoroughly enjoyable!! Thank you for sharing your talents. I enjoyed every bit.
These turned out so cool!! I NEED to flip a pair of jeans like that. And the button up shirt is perfect too
After seeing the number of projects you've made out of quilts, it would be interesting to see how making your own quilt would turn out
Okay I absolutely love the collar! And cropping the lenght and arms made it soo mich better!! I know you said nobody will probably recreate these but I just might try that one out 😄
The jeans are so cute! So you! Your creativity is inspiring ❤
Its so refreshing that you have totally different style as me. You'd look great in a brightly colored paper bag Jenna TBH😊
The second thrift flip turned out sooo good
Billy's adorable. He looks like he's made of crushed velvet. ☺
New. But I’m obsessed. And yes. Yes I am hanging out with my dogs and 2 toddlers just playing your videos looking for inspiration.
It’s not Saturday night, Jenna. I watch your vids as soon as they’re posted. 🤣
I love all of them! 👍❤️The crocheted top is my fav! The jeans are so cute! And, yes I’d wear each and every one! You are so talented!
Burning to prevent fraying only works on synthetic fibers. They melt, while natural fibers just burn.
Those dogs are having more fun than I do on a Saturday night!
The large wavy ribbon would be so cute at the hem of a red or pink skirt. Maybe even a green one 😍
The crochet collar really elevated that top!
Fantastic Jenna, love the crochet sweater and of course your quilted patch jeans. The simple shirt was easily transformed, quite. 🥰. Happy Belated Birthday Benson 🎉🎉🎉
watching this on a Friday night
Ok jenna the crochet top is one of the most amazing things that you've ever made!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Ben and jack must be very proud of you 🌸🌸🌸
I love these ideas especially the jeans 🌸
Wow you always make the best stuff i loved these flips ❤😊
hun you make my day thank you for being you loves ❤️
Happy bday Benson 🎁🥳 xxx
I always get excited when I see you've uploaded a new video 🥲 You always brighten my day💛
I love that blueCream sweater.
It IS a Saturday when I'm watching this! No dogs but I've got my cat and I've been spinning yarn all day. You're not alone Jenna 😂
I also love sewing, I have 5 pet dogs at home. So hanging out with 5. And there are more street dogs whom I feed.
So every weekend I repeat the same thing.
You’re a literal genius 🎉 I have a sweater I need to flip and also a button up! I had no inspiration for it but NOW! I DO! Thank you! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I love your energy! But on the jeans, I would have used stitch witchery. I can't hold a needle very long!
They are darling!
If I sewed, I’d for sure add rick rack to a flannel. The crocheted thrift flip is pretty impressive.
A whole lotta clever n fun...so enjoyable to watch.
❤😊
Please do more of this series! Love it 😊
