I can recommend "Ormus" or "The Resurrection" from the OST of the first Xenosaga game if you really like choirs! Or "The Beginning and the End" from Xenogears, which is probably my favorite piece of music with a choir from any Xeno game!
I love drifting souls but I'd need to vote for future awaits. Hearing Joanne Hogg again after all this time and the context of the song being the true ending of this grand narrative with hope of more to come gets me every time. I guess we'll be waiting at the far edge of time. After all this isn't goodbye it's till we meet again.
I prefer "One Last You" personally. It' just... resonates so strong.with my personal experiences, regrets and things that were never done but should. Still, I remember sharing these two songs to my friends and then telling them which I like better and they were like "oh, I thought Drifting Soul is more of your kind of thing". And "Drifting Soul" is great, don't get me wrong - it not only sounds beautiful, but has a deep meaning and story behind it (which you told quite nicely), but it just got NOTHING on "One Last You"... and hey, its melody greets you each time you visit the main menu thanks to "Where We Used To Be"! ...I can't even remember how many minutes I've spent on the title screen because of it. So yeah, "One Last You" is my favorite piece of music from XenoBLADE series. ...well... okay, the favorite LYRICAL piece of music - Bionis' Awakening still gives me chills to this day. BUT! It's still in the top 10 of Xenoseries overall ("Ship of Regret and Sleep" and "Two Small pieces" being my favorites... though, Xenosaga had a lot of great tunes too. It was fun to listen to your interpretation (and seeing memes). Thanks for reminding me of Drifting Soul. Cheers.
That's the beauty of music, everyone gets their own favorite songs that relates the most to them! I really love "One Last You" too, on an emotional level it probably hurt me more than Drifting Soul but... that was most likely from what happens in the game during it =w= Xenoblade title screens tend to just have you glued to them, I remember beating Torna and thinking, damn, and then you get to hear its ending theme in the piano version in the new title screen and just think... damn, again! Or playing Xenoblade 1 for the first time and just enjoying it's title theme while the time of day changes during it... Probably one of the rare cases I actually did that without just wanting to get straight into the game. And one of Xenoblade 2's most underrated little features where it changes the title screen in every chapter... When it comes to my actual favorite song with lyrics from the Xeno-games it would maybe be "my long forgotten cloistered sleep" which wasn't even actually in the game sadly. But without lyrics... would be impossible to choose for me, or at least require me to ponder it for at least like... 2 weeks! Thank you for the nice words!
@@Vanserchan Darn, sometimes I forget how much Xenosaga and Xenogears got hit with the "rushed developement" stick. But yeah, "my long forgotten cloistered sleep" is a REALLY respectable choice. Well, maybe sometimes you'll do a top 10 or something, haha. And no need for thanks, seeing a new video from you is always a high point of taking a break.
I already have, it's even my favorite Fire Emblem game! Totally not because of all the nice ladies in it but the perfect gameplay... Also top tier taste with the Rinkah avatar! And yeah, you should!!!!!!!!! A curse will fall onto you if you don't play the Xenoblade games in your lifetime... and Xenogears... and the Xenosaga games...
Indeed.
So Cool.
I'm a sucker for songs with good choir as I'm in one myself so I have a affinity for "We Are The Chosen Ones".
