The translation of this one is a bit shady at points with its grammer and some typos but it really added to the charm here somehow. But obviously that's way too much of a big topic for me to really talk about here or else I could write the longest YT comment in history about it probably! Recently rewatched Welcome to the NHK and it hits home harder nowadays when you're a bit more grown-up and don't just mostly watched it because of the comedy aspect of it. @@Vanserchan Biggest gaming mascot? I dunno. But it would be nice for Sony to have an official mascot (...well... they tried with Polygon man and... we all know how it ended). I'm kinda glad they're pushing Astro Bot for that role! In Team Asobi we trust. I've heard that cameos of various game characters in Astro Bot was to gauge interest for various series... big if true! But yeah, the game felt like a big throwback to good old days of Sony Studio Japan. The loss of Gravity Rush is something as painful as loss of Studio Liverpool and Wipeout. I dunno, Fat Princess was kinda a big deal near the time of the All-Stars release (I mean... it was a REALLY popular PSN game). I hate her design in the game tho, the same with Spike. ...like what the hell they were doing? I KINDA liked the contrast between the styles... but I WISH they would do a better job with more "cartoony" characters. The WORST thing about PlayStation's All-Stars Battle Royale is the fact... that it was released so goddamn late. Can you imagin it being released as one of the final BIG PS1 (or even early PS2 game, fine) games? With all the relevant characters? I dunno, Europe is... really weird market when it comes to sales (because they are so many countries and their reporting is... not good). I mean... some REALLY big PS1 games sold only like 5000-6000 copies here. Katamari Damacy also was really niche, but popularized by TH-camrs mostly. I actually think that GitarooMan was more popular in Poland than Katamari games. It's just... a really strange game. Like Mad Maestro! I just think that publishers were REALLY cautious releasing these smaller games. But yeah, Rhythm Games outside of DDRs, Beatmania and later GH were... really niche. Even REZ (which was a moderate hit) was marketed more as an on-rail shooter or action game than a rhythm game. Yeah, the whole Blood-type personality theory is quite interesting... and there is actually some scientifical basis (well, as much as you can call "being prone to certain diseases" or "some foods are worse for you" a part of your personality). And while its big in Japan (and it CERTAINLY is the most powerful there as it came from here)... if you ask someone who is into things like astrology, horoscopes etc. then you would find out that it's quite popular around the world. I remember reading about it in my grandma's magazines 20+ years ago. Yeah, I suppose the comment section of a video about wholesome game isn't the best place for such discussions (which is also why I was a bit... iffy to mention it in the first place, but then again you KINDA touched that in the video so I feel... justified). Comments can be 10000 characters long (which I might or might not reached once)! ...it's funny that a comment can be longer than a VIDEO DESCRIPTION... and nice job making me fill guilty about writing such long comments! Would you prefer "good video", "nice job Vanser" or "first" from now? ...just joking, you know that I can't help myself. Eh. I don't know why I am doing this. Maybe because you... well, respond? And you're smart and have much to say. Maybe it's just nice to find someone who enjoys your hobby as much as you do. Dunno. Your videos are great and you're truly are one of my favorite creators (and I'm talking TH-cam at all, with great TH-camrs when they were in their prime), but I would lie to you if I didn't say that writting comments to you and then reading responses is not as appealing. So... yeah, that's why I'm writting my novels. There was a point when Welcome to the NHK resonated a lot with me and I've start to see myself in the protagonist. And I kinda tried to change. While I'm far from normal member of society, I'm not as bad as I was before. It was a nice watch... even if it caused internal pain sometimes. I think that the part of appeal is also the fact that you see an average, bland guy getting all the girls and successes and thing "hey, if that loser can do that, I can achieve that too!". But yeah, I think that it's bit of a Japanese thing. But yeah, it's like games' protagonists - just a vessel imo. Eh, I think that if you would look a bit harder into it and deconstructed the character you would find things you like and are attracted to. I think. Yeah. Is chess even popular in Japan though? Go would be kinda cool inclusion (it even was in one trailer! ...and then... the final game didn't include it). That pizza was a warcrime and I'm glad you're as weirded out as I was. ...I mean... I think that if Nintendo made colonoscopy simulator, Switch controlers would be better thanks to the IR... ...well... just don't accept a wish from a weird white cat-looking thing who will offer you becoming a magical girl! ...it ends poorly.
@@Hodyna They should have just kept using Polygon Man, mostly to give people nightmares. Never break the golden rule of a mascot having to be cute, at least that's my own rule. A mascot that isn't cute is not a mascot to me! How else are they gonna turn him into a marketable plushie after all? Polygon Man is a bit too spikey for that... like Spike's hair! I still need to play Playstation All-Stars one day to see if it's only the aesthetic I hate about it, or if I will also hate the way it plays. I kinda hope I will dislike it so I won't have to be sad that I missed out on being able to play it online. And yeah, it could have become a big rival of Smash if they started making a game like this earlier, before Smash became as big as it is now. I still remember watching the first Brawl trailer and thinking, damn, they got Snake?! Which you would have never expected back in the day since it wasn't a Nintendo guy at all except for Twin Snakes. Now the charm of that is kinda... lost. The only new Smash character that really made me happy since Smash 4 that was added were Pyra/Mythra... Never played Mad Maestro so far but it's also on my list of games I wanna try out one day! Made sense that sometimes devs wouldn't wanna bring their games over if they felt it wouldn't do good but some cases are still strange to me. Like how did Terranigma only release in Europe and not also America? And why did we never get Chrono Trigger or Mario RPG? Terranigma makes up for both of those games but still! Noooo, you HAVE to write long comments or else I will be sad! Now that's some true guilty tripping. >:) I think it's fun to respond to comments that feel like they kinda are made to get a response! Like sometimes you maybe get a comment where someone comments a cute story about their relationship with the game that makes you think, cute story, but not really makes you feel you have to respond to it, you know? It makes me wonder if I should respond or just heart it instead and leave it be. Doesn't help that I'm kinda anti-social and way too conscious about how people see me. I feel if I respond to everything I may look desperate and want them to subscribe and things like that! To make them think "Oh, this guy reads my stuff so maybe I should watch more of him!". Thanks for the compliments though.. :flushed: Mission accomplished then if it managed to make you better yourself! The creator of the novel wrote it to also better himself and be a more "normal" member of society and it worked but I read he made so much money with it that he just became a hikkikomori again but... one that has lots of cash. One stepf orward but also... one step backwards I guess! Well, Yakuza is a big thing in the West now so maybe they can appeal a bit to us over here... by just adding a bit of Chess! Even if it's not big in Japan. I will write them a letter and ask them if they can add it, just for me... I forgot the Switch even had IR stuff on the Joycons, I think the only game I played that used it was Ring Fit Adventure. I hink those 1-2 Switch games use it too but... I do not wanna play those! Pff, Kyubey did nothing wrong, Madoka was just... uhm... weak! I'm built differently though, I could easily become a good magical girl... somehow! (I still need to watch the movies from it one day and only watched the anime back in the day)

This game was always great for preservation. Many of these games came from Mainichi Issho and Toro Station, and otherwise would be lost with them being live service. I've really missed Mainichi Issho, was such a great way to learn about new things in Japan. They even did an episode covering an attraction I worked on, was so cool.

I mean... some REALLY big PS1 games sold only like 5000-6000 copies here.
:flushed:
Mission accomplished then if it managed to make you better yourself!
Pff, Kyubey did nothing wrong, Madoka was just... uhm... weak! I'm built differently though, I could easily become a good magical girl... somehow! (I still need to watch the movies from it one day and only watched the anime back in the day)
@@Vanserchan Eh, I thought that I've responded to this comment... must have been a fever dream or something.
Hm... I mean... have you heard about GIANT MICROBES - they make plushies of things such as HIV virus, EBOLA or (I didn't though they would have enough BALLS to do this) THAT ONE VIRUS FROM 2019. Marketing always will find the way. I mean... Sonic plushies are pretty spiky! And yet they are soft!
...so you're hating on PSASBR without playing it beforehand? ...nice, nice (I'm disappointed in you by the way). The gameplay is... fine. It's serviceable, but I don't think it's a GOOD party game. ...but I never thought about Smash as a good OR fun party game either so... maybe it's on me.
It's really obscure, so I'm not surprised! Really charming, but also MAD(hehe)deningly hard.
Eh... releases in Europe/USA are always weird. Didn't really knew that Chrono Trigger missed us completely! ...and yet they gave us the much inferior Chrono Cross... eh. I don't get them. I really don't.
Listen, I have an iron rule: I don't negotiate with terrorists (guilt tripping is a form of terrorism on a smaller personal scale, no?)... but I'll make an exception for you. But beware. Personally I think that comments are the most rewarding part of TH-cam and it's always fun to get them from people! But I completely get you, some comments are really awkward to respond to, because... there really isn't much to add, I guess? So yeah, the "heart" function is quite nice to acknowledge people that you read their comment and appreciate it without saying too much fluff (...and yet I heart nearly every comment because I just appreciate the effort that it takes to scroll down and scribe a few words). Hey, is it really desperate? I think that it shows appreciation and makes it... more personal? We get into the parasocial relationships territory, sure, but it always feels nice to be noticed and be able to talk to creator, especially if you enjoy their stuff, so it's natural that if you treat your viewers nicely, they will subscribe and watch/like all your content (and perhaps even enjoy it more because it's from people they actually like).
I mean... lots of money is the universal problem solver, no? So I think the guy won!
Well, you can always try! If you want, I'll write my name under your pettition to them as well (then it will surely work).
I THINK that the new Brain Training also uses it? ...and so does WarioWare!
.it is really underused, though.
Oy, don't shittalk Meguca Meduka! Kyubey was like a NFT BRO, you can't really defend his actions! ...you can also read manga (I'm so happy that I got it during its original run as it is quite expensive nowadays) - somehow they've made Kyubey even creepier. ...Rebellion was great, and it not winning any award was one of the biggest blunders I've ever seen. ...so many good memories. I didn't watched the latest movie yet, still waiting for the person who introduced me to Madoka (and with whom I watched Rebellion) to meet up so we could watch it for the first time together.
@@Vanserchan THE COMMENT GOT DELETED!
...or maybe it was your workings...
...probably just wasn't posted. Thanks youtube
Here's what I managed to save:

Hey, he earned a lot of money in the process! That's a win. Money is the master key to everything in this world so... why bother with society anymoer?
You can do that! I'll write my name under your petition- it will surely work that way!
Hm... I'm pretty sure the new Brain Training uses it. And so does WarioWare. ...others... eh, not so sure.
Eh, defending Kyubey? Really? It's like you would defend a cryptobro praying on someone who is easily manipulated! MEDUKA MEGUCA DID NOTHIN' WRONG!
You can also read manga - it's pretty gud (I'm so happy that I got it while it was releasing as nowadays it's pretty expensive and hard to get). I only watched Rebellion and it's great. The art, the music, the plot... the fact that it didn't won any awards is a crime... Seriously. I still wait to watch the new one - hope that the person who introduced me to Madoka will someday watch it with me. I'll wait until that
This game was always great for preservation. Many of these games came from Mainichi Issho and Toro Station, and otherwise would be lost with them being live service.
I've really missed Mainichi Issho, was such a great way to learn about new things in Japan. They even did an episode covering an attraction I worked on, was so cool.
bruda, hättest normie sein können aber ne.
a cat game! Gotta love MP mini games! Have you played Stray? It's another lovely game about a cat. 😺
Haven't played it yet but it's on my endless list of games I wanna play one day. Maybe till then someone made a Nia skin for the cat! Hopefully...
