"We're playing Knights of the Round Table. My name is Sir Cumference." This is still one of my favorite jokes and it's from this game. I loved this game as a kid, and feel like I could have described it to someone, but no, seeing this video, there was so much I had completely forgotten about that I remembered upon seeing it. Very cool, thank you! Also, excellent taste on that that Xenosaga box.
I'm a simple man - I see Vanserchan's video, I click it, watch it and write an overly long comment (even if I should be doing more important things, please send help). Ahhhh... Xenosaga, my favorite Lego games. Too bad that the promotional KOS-MOS mini figure goes for so much that you'll have to sell one of your kidneys to get it! ...but seriously, I miss old Lego games. They were super low budget, but had their charm. I mean... Lego loco was just a game when you designed your little town and railway and created post cards (often with subtely, or not, threatening message) and yet I've spent HOURS on it. Same with Lego Creator, Lego Chess, Football Mania... and let's not forget the fairly decent racing games (Drome racers is NON IRONICALLY great, and I'm sad that the sequel was scrapped and the game itself is now just... forgotten). First Lego Star Wars was fun, after that... eh... it's just the same mold. Even Lego City Undercover felt kind of meh, even if I love cop movies/series. Pretty much worst thing that one can do is give the licence to just one studio. And yet, I've never played any Lego Island games, just watched other people's nostalgic memories of it. 1:25 - JOKES ON YOU! I'M ALONE SO NOBODY CAN JUDGE ME, NOT EVEN GOD Eh, you call events happening in this game crazy? If you ever visited countries to the East of yours your mind would be blown then. Lego island is pretty accurate depiction of what happens on the streets of slavic countries (just with less alcohol and more sharks I guess). Oh boy. I suggest you getting into that "Pimp My Ride" rabbit hole as it's both unbelievable and funny (also sad for the people who took part of it). ...pretty much... the cars looked nice (...not always, they could be pretty gaudy), but that's it. They only did the visual part of the cars and left insides as they were, and seeing that the cars were trash on wheels... they often broke quickly after the show (and people had to wait MONTHS to get them in the first place!). Not to mention that all that additional tat often caused increased energy consumpion, thus increasing the need for gas. The best one could do was sell that white elephant and buy an actual car. ...I still can't believe that you Germans did "Pimp my Fahrad" and were serious about it (as in "it wasn't a parody"). There are two points in life where you are afraid of skeletons: when you're a kid and when you're 1st year at Medical University and have to learn all the fine details of each bone in like a month. I still have nightmares. Holy hell. You sounded so different back then. I don't know if it's because of the microphone or is it because you're using your native language. Thanks for sharing it. Overall it was a cute segment. Overall, it was worth being an irresponsible man to watch it.
I keep having to prop up the games I wanna show against the Xenosaga box because it's like the best-lighted place in my room so my low-quality phone camera can take good pics of the things I wanna photograph! 😭I kinda hate doing it because it makes me think I wanna brag with it when I don't! I got Lego Loco laying around somewhere in the basement too and I tried that out a few months and it was... really damn bad, even if I loved it as a kid. Wanted to even make a video about it which just turned into the Lego Land video instead since that gave me way more to work with! One game I always wanted to have was the Rock Raiders one, and I still have never tried it. One day maybe I shall finally fulfill one my of childhood dreams to play it... I would like the newer Lego games maybe a bit more if they used anime IPs instead of movie ones. Or at least try something more... non-popular? Slavic countries do have some beaches though, so sharks could be found there... probably? I had to google if Germany had sharks and we actually do, even if they're really, really rare... So if we can have them, so can you! I think I heard about that before that Pimp my Ride was mostly just for show instead of also making cars able to drive on the road again but hey, at least you can just sit in the car and play video games. That's something too, even if you need the car to actually work to get to work with! And Pimp my Fahrrad just unlocked memories I didn't even remember I had anymore. Wanna hear a scary fact? There's a skeleton inside of you, RIGHT now! Now that's truly scary. Only thing I know about the human skeleton is that we have 206 bones and cats have more bones than us. And that dogs don't actually to really like to bite on them. I think it's a mix between using a bad headset microphone and also talking German! Even if I talk it now it does sound different than when I talk English! Talking German turns people into different people... And shush, time to do responsible things! Unless they're super duper important, then you can watch my videos... but only then! But also thanks for watching them!
@@Vanserchan Yeah, sure. Eh... I think that the standard lego-collectathon-formula just needs a rest for like 3-4 years until they'll think of some innovations or something. ...then again, they tried to "refresh" it with Skywalker's legacy and... oh god, that was perhaps the worst LEGO game of all time... A strategy game, or just another creator game (or something like scribblenauts but with LEGO) would be cool. Oh. I forgot about Lego 2K drive - that was KINDA decent and charming I guess... Do you buy/build Lego sets from time to time? I pretty much get the technics as I'm not really creative type. Had to buy McLaren MP4/4 with Ayrton Senna's minifigure tho. It's a pretty cool set, but I'm so sad that Lego doesn't want to budge and give us non-standard sized wheels. Oh shoot. I mean, both Poland and Germany have access to the Baltic Sea, so I checked it out and... yeah, in theory there are sharks in our sea! ...BUT, only around the Denmark strait (because the levels of salt are too low around us). ...then again, even if it was salty enough, Polish side of the Baltic is so poluted that if you have bad luck and you take a swim you'll get chemical burns. No lie. I feel bad for making a typo in Fahrrad. But yeah. That show is wild and at the same time I know why your brain erased it from existance. Actually! The thing about 206 bones is both true and untrue... depending on time. Some bones in our body "fuse" together as we get older (in skull and pelvis). But yeah, sadly, we are just flesh automatons piloted by skeletons. At least you know the truth. Bring Fin Fin back. Justice for him.
Lego Island is such a wonky game to get to run. So many factors plays part in making run to a playable state. Things like if the framerate is too high it can outsynch the animation to the audio and make the game run too fast as a lot is framerate dependant. MatKC has many interesting videos of both getting it playable, how the code works and the struggle of preserving the game.
Yeah, it does feel way too fast at points which makes it feel it's not meant to be played on good modern PCs but even the old Let's Play I did of it in 2011 felt really fast and that was still made on Windows XP on a poopy PC... I should look into those videos!
Luckily I didn't had to put anyone into their grave to get this game as a kid! Always wanted to have the Bionicle game for PC though and never got it... so maybe I should have done that. And we all were bald at one point in our life! She's still cute when she's bald!
