U-1 is much better than U-2 (screw Bono, he's a douche) anyway, but yeah, the moment that you realize the pun is great. ...is it THE BEST rhythm game on the PS2? ...that's controversial! Gitaroo Man got AMAZING press scores and was genuinely good game, with marvelous art-style and fun songs! ...but I STILL think it's a bit of a stretch... but it is there with the pantheon of REZ, Amplitude and PaRappa The Rapper 2. ...and sure, REZ was also a Dreamcast game (and some weak minded individuals wouldn't call the game "rhythm" game... even if you want to be really good you really NEED to play along the music - which is amazing), Amplitude used "normal" music and PaRappa still had the weird scoring system... but I just think these were better games (even if I really, REALLY like Gitaroo Man and I've spent a lot of time with the PSP port)! ...it's sad that iNiS made so few original games (and we didn't even get the second part of Elite Beat Agents smh), they were really into something. ...such a shape that the "Project Rap Rabbit" never came to life... But damn... the artstyle of this game is really something else. I remember seeing the game originally in a magazine and being like "this is kinda goofy", while seeing in in motion is poetry. It was nice to see Okage, even if for a little while. Eh, being a loser is a state of mind (as cliche as it sounds). If you mop around and whine about it, you'll be just that, mostly because you show that to the world and 99,999% of the world doesn't have time to get to know you better. Conviction is key! You know the saying "fake it till you make it"? It's weirdly true - by acting cool (as in not fearing about other's opinion of you) or as if you know what you're doing (...wait a minute), people will think the same. And hey, maybe even, at some point, you'll believe your own lies! It's all about going forward and keeping up appearances, if you'll downplay yourself constantly people will start picking up on things that they wouldn't notice otherwise so... don't self-sabotage! Double dipping is fine. Triple dipping (with Odin Sphere for PS4) is too. There are games that you can't get enough copies of! ...ah... RetroAchievements... As for input delay... sadly, playing Rhythm games on anything that isn't the original hardware (with CRT TV/monitor if you play old consoles) will get you delay. DARN YOU HD SIGNAL! Shame on you for playing League... but also, congrats on breaking the addiction (I hope).
Other rhythm games just miss all the things around the gameplay for me. Rez and Amplitude may feel great to play too but they lack the cute story, characters and the overall aesthetic of them just don't vibe as well with me such as Gitaroo Man, or also PaRappa the Rapper but I prefer the first one, or Um Jammer Lammy. I think both of those franchises have some real potential behind them nowadays since they're still really popular but well, modern Sony and all that... And I just really love the simplicity of Gitaroo Man in comparison too. Maybe that's why someone like me who doesn't really play too many rhythm games also prefers it! Looking at iNis's wiki page is just a bit depressing... Making these colorful games like Elite Beat angels and Gitaroo Man and then it's just... actual Singstar clones after those without any of the special style that really stands out... ; _ ; Video about Okage coming... eventually. Making videos about JRPGs scares me a bit. Even of Okage is not THAT long for a JRPG but still. But playing through them, recording it, having to remember where each part is... I REALLY want to make videos about Xenogears and Xenosaga too one day but they make me think I won't be able to do them justice if I try to rush it... so eventually those videos will come, even if we may live in 2050 by then! Yeah, changing is hard but it's always possible! Mopping and whining is fine too every once in a while though. At least online I don't really care if people think I'm a loser or something but I kinda want to not be a loser in my own mind and I do think I'm a bit of a loser but not in a way that makes me really sad about it. I just like to play up that part in my videos sometimes! Even if I try to not do it too much because too much self-deprecating is a bit lame. Technically you can buy Odin Sphere four times on the PS2, PS3, PS4 AND Vita... (I really wanna get a PS Vita TV thingy before those become too expensive) I mostly only quit League because it made my hand hurt too much after like two matches. So in one way my own hand saved me by hurting! (Luckily it's the only thing where that happened so maybe that was just my body telling me I'm getting too old for games with high APM stuff...) I was never really addicted to it... except for the really early seasons...
man, the ps2 had some really cool stuff made for it
i saw what i assumed to be nia in the thumbnail so i instantly subscribed
Thank you! I always try to draw a fitting Nia for each thumbnail on each game I make a video about!
